When Google's tell us their results are driven by "relevance," we act as though there's a platonic, measurable, independent idea of "relevance" that was separate from judgment, bias, and editorializing. Some relevance can't be divined a priori -- how relevant is an open window to Fleming's Petri dish?
Algorithms start dumb and only work downwards. They have no place in decision making, be it mine or yours.
Happy birthday WaterShake.
You loveable fool.
Congratulate the whiz-kid in posts below.

Well there seems to be a pretty clear consensus. I guess I should re-think my lifestyle. I'll try and measure my BMI later to see if I am actually 'underweight'.
I eat pretty much normally baring the vegetarian restrictions.

Don't be a drag just be a queen. He's long gone. Shame.
Weird, a few folks are implying its not me in the picture.
Anyway, heres another picture of me - to qualm any doubts.
The change i've made in my diet is pretty unreversible tbh - i'm abstaining from meat for 4 months as part of a test.
I've lost quite a bit of weight recently due to a change in my diet. Am i now too thin? A few people keep saying so.
its perfectly safe I swear. look at me, i'm alive and kicking.
Don't eat. Food flab fat fat. It's fucking disgusting. Refraining from food is only a natural evolution of our behaviour. Do it now.
Fanta organized a fucking awesome 3D projection this weekend in Dubai. It's the first time something like this has happened within the region and the whole thing is being conducted to launch the Fanta Chase Facebook competition.
I've written about it here and uploaded a video of the 3D projection.
Is Earth Hour a good idea or a waste of time? Apparently this year saw record high levels of participation and energy saved, the idea seems to be gaining traction.
I've written about it here but i'd be interested to know what you think.
Does anyone here actually give a shit about the planet/other people?

I still buy CDS, but I don't know many people that actually own physical copies of their favorite songs anymore. Now days, you just download what you want... all 1's and 0's
There probably won't be another physical format.
you do realize that everything in the digital world is 1's and 0's? I.e the files saved on discs are 1's and 0's just as much as mp3 downloads are.

I've written about it here.
No, in fact completely the opposite. I love Apple, but the article they wrote about Apple was just so stupidly blind to any possible negatives of Apple or positives of Microsoft. And it read terribly.
I don't really like apple that much Either though, so many things don't run on Snow leopard that it feels like
i'm using an ipad, but bigger.
What doesn't run on Snow Leopard? I've been using it for over a year and not had any problems.
I do like my iphone though, it's nice.

See, Aussies know how to get shit done. Were there any particularly good episodes that could be found on YouTube etc.?

lol its funny because apparently everyone on NG is highly intellectual and fully mentally developed before they've even left their teen years or even had to consider any of adults life's pressures.

You can't write shit like

I'm not. I'm having a lovely day today. I just find you amusing.
I am genuinely interested about you because this is the internet. There is more time for you to be real rather than a fake ass high school boy.
I'm not a high school boy.
I am interested about you because on the internet, you are more real than what you appear in HS or College or wherever.
That's a bug assumption you got there. Its easy to lie on the internet man. Watch this:
Hey, i'm a 21 year old female, I grew up in Austin, Texas :)
Hi, i'm 16, I live in the UAE
S'up? i'm from Detroit
et all.
This is the main reason why I am genuinely interested.
Ok.
Now please people, there is no need to be angered. Understand that hating someone or being mad at them means that you are jealous of their high status/superiority.
I'm not angered, Jedi might be, but that's because of your stupidity; not jealousy.
You can all dislike me, but if you hate me, I love you lol.
Then your gonna really, really love the BBS.

so we raise another generation of kids who will fuck off economics and plunge the occidental world headlong into the gutter?
what a piece of shit writer
I'd rather have young kids worrying about passing exams, tests and not being beat up by the bully than whether or not they can afford to get the bus home.
Just because you don't grow up feeling guilty asking for penny sweets doesn't mean your going to plunge the world headlong into the gutter
The BBC reported upon recent research into the lifestyles and rising trends amongst kids throughout the United Kingdom. Some pretty interesting statistics, but an interesting lack of anything particularly shocking.
I've also written about this news here.
God save the BBC
Oh boy. Those silly British people seem to have been wandering off there island again.
7Days (a local, relatively authentic tabloid) published an article about British tourists today. The "CRAZY COMPLAINTS" section at the bottom of the article is by far the most interesting bit. You can read it here.
I've also reposted the best of them here.

Yeah. Personally email is pretty dead, but in the workplace it is essential.
This is what I was going to say.
I'm not a teacher but email is just as important to my job, if not more so.
We distribute press releases via email
Receive briefs from our clients via email
Contact journalists via email
Book venues via email
Send status reports via email
Receive coverage alerts via email

Email is definitely not dead guys.
