It's random for sure. It's almost too random. If it gets any more random, you won't be able to follow it. Btw, title: The Babysitting Blunder. Give it some thought.

It is with a heavy heart that I must say this; I am pulling out of the contest. I really really hate to, but there's turmoil in my life getting in the way and my computer crashed and my FL Studio stopped working. Good luck to the rest of the competitors in the future rounds!

Yay! Time to get to work everyone! The deathmatch will begin...

whenever Supersteph reads the thread again.

That might cut it downa bit..

But that opens the way for trolling. But then, why have the vote system if the rating system also gives a score? Why not go with the review score?

But doing a chromatic riff does nothing to establish the new key before it's really used.
Chords also help establish the key if it's major or minor, diminished or augmented... ...Fibonacci Sequence...

I know that there are even popular songs that raise in key to make the chorus sound higher and more exciting but the change I am trying to do is a bit of a jump, from A to E.

I've recorded this song already and it sounds ALRIGHT for the most part but there is always something not quite right when I jump from E to A during the chorus. I've done some research and E and A are only different because of one note! (this would be E having a d# and A just having a D)

So why is it that they sound so different? And is it so bad to switch keys in a song?

The reason the keys sound so different is where you start in the scale. For example, if you start going up the A scale in the key of E, it'll sound different because like you stated, E has a D# that A doesn't. This goes back to the medieval techniques called modes. I don't remember the specific name, but an A is the fourth of E, so when going up from A in the key of E is just a mode, or rotation if you will, of E. But it also depends on the chords you're playing with it.

If you're transitioning from A to E I would definitely use the mode thing I just told you about.

Yes. Leave him alone. He seemed like a fair enough judge to me. Nothing's more annoying than somebody whining about a review that didn't shower them with praise.

I believe people are making this issue bigger than it really is. Personally, I think this issue has evolved beyond Blackhole12. It's not about whining about a review we didn't like. It's the fact that the review was overly harsh. To me and most of the people I know, constructive criticism is not only telling what's wrong about something, but also what's good about it and how to fix the bad parts.

However, this situation has taken us far from the main point, which is the contest if anyone forgot. Let's all just forget the Blackhole12 incident and move on. I'm curious who's gonna take the 32nd spot in Group 2.

Why are you bringing this up? I mean, sure, you can tell me I'm a horrible judge and that my reviews are abusive pointless and idiotic, but I'm not a judge anymore. I was just a stand-in judge, and as I explained before, we have 3 judges so that if some people didn't like my review the scores would even out. This whole mess had been resolved and I'm no longer a judge since I'm a participant in the contest itself, so if you want to tell me I'm an ignorant dickhead, please do so in a PM, and I will gladly explain myself to you.

Bottom-line: I'm not a judge anymore.

I think Gravey is trying to say that you might need to work on constructive criticism. Personally, I think constructive criticism has more good points than abusive criticism like what Gravey pointed out in your review. However, since you were only a filler judge, the situation should disarm itself.

The didn't say anything about POSTING. They said Group 2 wasn't full yet. There is a VERY clear difference. But seriously. Why not wait until matchups are officially declared? The first round for group two hasn't even started yet.

If you want, take a look at my music and see if you would want me to write your score. Though i don't know how much time i'll have to work on it. I've got a project that i need to finish for my band director. But i'll give it a shot if you want me.

i use Finale as a blueprint for what i'm going to do in FL Studio. I love both to death. And Finale prints sheet music too!

I'm totally in for group 2. Though I'm not even close to being a good artist. Anyway, I do classical, ambient, and (by newgrounds standards) misc. Can't wait for group 2 to start.

Okay, i'm not hearing too much improvisation out of people besides in bass and percussion. If I have a small theme I want as a tag, I can do that right? I'm a little nervous about it because I haven't heard too much of it yet.
