If you want to bring out more detail with the scans, then try using the built in adjustment sliders to reduce the brightness and increase the contrast. I use that on pencil drawings and my darkest values come out looking like ink.

On the "dog" ...her back arm seems odd to me... maybe it should be down so she looks more like she's on all fours or turn the hand/palm so it looks more like she's bracing herself on [an implied] wall (which is what I thought at first glance) ...also, the shit is too low compared to the back legs... I'm guessing it was a perspective thing, but it makes her look like she's floating ...or sitting on a spindle lol :P

Are you talking about the white cast on the figures or the background? I think the background white is too much and needs more added to it or even toned darker.
