This site seems kind of old, but "The risk of using cocaine is estimated to be more than 104 times greater for those who have tried marijuana than for those who have never tried it." jumped out at me.

You have a point, but an organization such as medi-care SHOULD know where every $10 goes. I'd imagine there are quite a few regulations surrounding the budgets of these organizations due to the fact that, like it has been said, 50 million is pocket change.

If some dude came up to you and said "How many people have you slept with" would you tell the truth?

For me? Well, probably, but I'm only 16, but think about all the posts of the moral fiber of America being trashed, or whatever we talk about these days. Lies are part of surveys, this category just warrants a lot, LOT more liars.

Well, If a liberal does become president, and Pat Robertson was right about the next holocaust thing, I think Pat should do the right thing and volunteer to be the first to go.

Response to: Pat Robertson-insane or just senile Posted February 12th, 2006 in Politics

The thing that bothers me the most about Pat Robertson (and many people with a Christianity-based set of morals) is their selective following of the bible.

If the bible says to hate faggots, then they say hey, I hate faggots.

But when the bible says to love thy neighbor, they seem to interprit it as "Love thy neighbor, unless thy neighbor is a faggot."

That's not the way things should be among Christians, let alone among the christians who want to be involved in major politics.

Anyone who talks about politics is ridiculed, even us here on this forum.

The fact is, this man is on television, and that makes me very sad.

"Just like what Nazi Germany did to the Jews, so liberal America is now doing to the evangelical Christians. It's no different. It is the same thing. It is happening all over again. It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals who want to destroy the Christians. Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history."

-Pat Robertson

This man is a respected icon in American politics.

What the fuck is wrong with this country?

Response to: in my christian school... Posted February 2nd, 2006 in Politics

There's nothing more infuriating than protestant's hypocracy. Any church you go to will preach one thing and do another. Love thy neighbor, except gays. Thou shalt not kill, but thou shalt support a president who does, simply because he made reference to our creater in the state of the union speech.

I myself am a christian. I don't go to church, and I refuse to talk christianity with any hardcore protestants, it just makes me sick. I pray, read the bible, and have a strong relationship with God, but I don't think he likes what some of those groups are doing any more than I do.

You know who the number one group who generalizes kids my age is? Police. Or possibly middle aged rich people.

Taxes, pros vs cons Posted January 28th, 2006 in Politics

Ok everyone knows that taxing is one of the hardest things for an administration to handle. You can do more with more taxes, but people are generally happier with lower taxes. But people are also happy when the gov't is using the tax dollars to help the everyday civilian. So in simple terms, it's impossible for people to be happy when taxes provide what people want from the gov't, but people are all pissy about paying taxes.

My views are that if tax dollars are properly spent (which in my eyes, they never are)

I'm not going to get into the rich vs middle class taxation argument, that's an entirely different discussion, but does anyone feel that their tax dollars are being wrongly spent when you see things the gov't pays for that are completely useless?

The war has costed us trillions, all the millions spent on ridiculous construction, and how little is spent on schooling and homeless shelters, things that actually make peoples lives better.

Anyone?

Response to: Women Have Won. The Decline Of Male Posted December 27th, 2005 in Politics

Haha, I quit doing research by watching Nickelodean a long time (2 months) ago.

The whole feminist movement is just sickening these days. I saw that chick on the Colbert report that was talking about reproducing without men. Great, then what?

Are women going to be coal miners? Are women going to fight (as footsoldiers) in the war with Iraq? The fact is that men are just as important to our culture as women, and being a feminist and thinking that women are superior to men is just as disgusting as saying that men are superior to women, it's just socially acceptable to say the first one.

OMG Jet force gemini? With the brother and sister or whatever in space? I can't believe anyone remembers that game, I played it on n64 while everyone was still playing smash brothers.

My fav game of all time is snowboard kids 2, but I also liked banjo-kazooie a whole lot.

Anyone ever play the Lucas-Arts games? Not sure what genre it would be, but games like Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, and The Dig were fantastic. Sam n Max hit the road is my personal favorite.

My point is just as I said, shes an arrogant, self-righteous bitch.

Bottom line, I think she's right on this one. Whether she's rude or a bitch is irrelevant. Everyone wants Tom DeLay crucified, but during Clinton, everybody demanded we excuse his perjury, obstruction of justice, suborning perjury, witness tampering, et. al. because it was "just about sex". Hannity's bias is unexcusable, but Dan Rather's was an honest mistake, even though he continued to pretend it was right. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Ever seen the bumper sticker? "When Clinton lied, nobody got killed"?

This whole post (in my mind) shows how much Coulter pisses Democrats off. And there's a reason she's one of the top 5 most known names in political analysis, and that's not cause she's a nobody.

If I was on national television, wrote several books, and blatantly accused every single person in the opposing party of being an idiot, then maybe people would know my name too.

That Ann Coulter is a fucking bitch?

I mean come on, whether you care what she's saying or not, she thinks she's better than you, and she thinks that what she's saying is true, simply because shes saying it.

Response to: Obesity in America Posted December 22nd, 2005 in Politics

It's also people's right to smoke in restaurants, but here in Columbus people can't do that.

Okay, that's a slippery slope, second hand smoke kills. But to be honest, second hand fat is just disgusting.

A surgeon general was quoted to say that if left unchecked, the obesity epidemic will overtake smoking as far as deaths go. (Check the orig post)

And finally, I think it's damaging to our reputation as a country as a whole to know that such a high percentage of our country is so obese.

Response to: Obesity in America Posted December 21st, 2005 in Politics

The BMI didn't say you're fat. The BMI said you're overweight for your height.

But clearly that is not the point of this thread. The point is that America is the most overweight country in the world, and still growing.

Response to: Morgan Freeman denounces... Posted December 21st, 2005 in Politics

Of course he's right. There will always be racism as long as there's segregation. And isn't giving black history it's own month segregation?

"Okay, fine, you can use our busses and water fountains, but at least keep your history in its own month."

Doesn't quite make sense to me.

Response to: Obesity in America Posted December 21st, 2005 in Politics

I'll agree that the BMI scale is flawed as to calculating fat vs muscle, and I also agree on the diet methods these days.

My dad is a little overweight, and he admitted, quote "I've tried everything to lose weight..oh, except diet and exercise."

Isn't that the mentality in this country, though? The "I'll do anything as long as I don't have to do it" mindset?

Obesity in America Posted December 21st, 2005 in Politics

A BMI (body mass index) of over 25 kg/m squared is considered overweight.

A BMI of over 30 kg/m squared is considered obese.

And finally, a BMI of over 35 kg/m squared is considered morbidly obese.

This chart is dated, but still shows that 30.6% of Americans are obese. The chart's data is at best 2 years old, and it's fact that obesity rates are growing and have doubled in adolescents and children in the last 20 years.

What is to be done about this? I'm just a wee bit worried. In the movie Supersize me, many shocking facts were shown to be truth, just read these
