Lots of people are assuming that people are attacking Zoe simply because she's a woman who had sex. Many of them also think that the concern over corruption is just a falsehood contrived to hide the true misogynistic hatred underneath. I don't think that, I think the concern about corruption is genuine, if wrong. At least, in Zoe Quinn's case. I don't think that the traded sex for good publicity, because I'm not fucking seeing it. But like I said, maybe I'm wrong. I don't know any of these people and am far away from this whole thing. So I don't think that there's an issue of corruption with Zoe Quinn. I think there's an issue of her being a bad, hateful person. Like I said, she and her friends insulted, derided, and bad-mouthed actual fucking suicidal people. And my problem with that is the serious hypocrisy, since they claim to stand for justice and all that.
This whole thing is just a fucking awful mess. The way I see it, there's no reason for the controversy over Zoe Quinn. I've been checking in on this here and there the past two days and as far as I can see, only one of the five people she slept with was a journalist on a videogame blog, Kotaku. And he never gave a sterling, praise filled review of Depression Quest or anything like that. I think he only mentioned it on an article or two, and only because her game was getting green-lit on Steam. Maybe I'm wrong. So there's no real issue to be discussed with the whole games journalism angle as far as I can see. Her moral character is an entirely different and completely insidious matter entirely. Games journalists hate core videogame fans for some reason, anyway. They're shit.
Don't misunderstand me, I hate Zoe Quinn from what I know about her. It's sickeningly ironic because she made a game about depression, supposedly reaching out to the miserable. But then she and her friends attacked Wizardchan.org, a website for probably the most depressed people on the internet. Becayse claimed that she had received harassment from them somehow, but I don't see how that's possible. Suicide is regularly discussed there. Supposedly all these people who were attacking, demonizing, bullying, and debasing SUICIDAL people for the sake of their oh-so depressed queen, are good, moral, and VERY SENSITIVE people who care so much about the feelings of others and are completely right about everything. Who are the real bullies?
This shit makes me sick.
I don't know a whole lot either, but I do know that a downside to having many different currencies is that they have lower and higher values. For example, 100 units of my currency may only be worth 35 units of your currency. Also, if everybody on the planet used the same currency, we would basically have achieved world peace.
