On this topic I find that peoples (at least in the US) are so stringent about what they are willing to accept as consumers of entertainment that a rating higher than R for movies or M for video/computer games is the "kiss of death" for that item. It's like if the movie or game has one too many violent or sexual situation then it GOES TOO FAR and suddenly is unnaceptable. I think that an artistic vision should not be reduced to a checklist of the number of times you can show or say what. As an artist it annoys the hell out of me.

Wow dude. Since you have said that I know a documentary you might want to see. It is called "This Film is Not Yet Rated". It is about this one guy who tries to uncover the true identities of the people in the movie rating system. Then, when he has it all on a tape he sends it in to the ratings system for it to get rated. You gotta see it, it's really cool.

Thanks, will do. Just to let you know I am not using photoshop, I am using Flash. But I'll definitely take you up on that advice, I have been trying to do stuff in quick strokes I just got to get used to it.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to get on the PC that much this weekend, so, I'll try and get the last one done today as well. Things to do!

Seriously though, if anyone wants to like, comment, or, say anything at all, that would be welcomed. I can't improve without help!

I love Killer 7, that was an awesome video for how short it was. Your videos are really cool, keep up the good work.

No problem. By the way I forgot to say that they are refillable and double tipped.

All of the artwork on the site was done with Copic markers, and there is a seperate tab for copic anime.

Response to: Cute Anime/Manga girl I drew :3 Posted March 12th, 2010 in Art

Well, if you want to improve on color then just go to your local art store and order Copic Manga pens, they are pretty pricey but well worth it with the professional look you get after wards.

They are about $4.50 each

I don't really care for tablet PCs. We use them in my 2nd block class and I just don't like how they feel, but everyone has their own opinions I guess.

The proportions seem a little...off. The body just doesn't look right at all. The face is, I don't even know how words can describe it. And most of all, the gun looks like one of those floaty noodle pool toys.

Thats the idea! it's a toon! but it's okay thanks for critisism :)

That doesn't prove anything, toons can still have depth and values.

Response to: Entrys of various delineation Posted March 11th, 2010 in Art

Those last few pics remind me of the style that Jamie Hewlett does. And damn, does that shit look sweet.

Response to: suggestions to starting characters Posted March 11th, 2010 in Art

As said before, starting a style takes a lot of time, hell, it took me a little over a year for me to develop my style. Cartoons can be hard to do, you just need patience and a little bit of uniqueness to your characters. Just keep working and working on your anatomy and structure and everything and you will eventually be very well at drawing cartoons. And, as said before, try to go back to your basics and draw just simple stuff.
Critique can hurt, but without Newgrounds I wouldn't be nearly as good as I am today (no, I do not think that I am the best artist ever). So just keep at it and don't give up.
