If your 'live' sound is based around computers with no live instrumentation how can it be live????? \
when I first heard the idea of electronic musicians I thought it was whack too. But... I always thought a live show was playing music LIVE meaning IN PERSON as in a concert with out the media such as radio, internet etc?
so you have four synths, two vocalists, guitarists, percussionist, a drummer. HOW IS THAT POSSIBILE LIVE??????
with a laptop. I haven't been to a show that uses laptops like electronic musicians, and I bet you haven't either too. Just because they use laptops, doesn't mean a show can't be fun. The whole point of a live show is to have fun not to sit there and pick apart sounds and pick apart equipment, then judge them.
Just accept the major part of the majority you aint gona get there
It's not all about fame, the majority of the people (I'm guessing) make music for the hell of it, for the fun of it. I can't say anything about anyone not making it anywhere, because I don't know anyone or there music.
but enjoy what you do, do not live in a pipe dream, you wanna gig, fuck the PCs off get live instruments in, orchestrate it
We will enjoy doing what we do. Since your dissing PC's, I have to say, half the music industry, including bands who use instruments, wouldn't have as much fame as they do today without computers/internet. You CAN gig with a PC, they do it, it seems fun, and it's not stupid. Since the PC songs are electronic, using effects pedals at gig blows big ones too I guess, thats what you would call "electronic", if you know what I'm getting at.
