I am seriously getting tired of seeing your stupid face in every game you make Luis.

You do realize that you put yourself in almost every single flash game/ movie. I dont think i have seen anyone here on newgrounds with as much as ego as you do.

I mean seriously...just stop already, theres nothing special about you.

I'm waiting for obama to pass his healthcare first. I'm covered in massachusetts but not so sure about over here on the west.

Plus I can cure myself and it's working so far. Sleep + Echanecia extract + herbal teas work wonders.

If you're using flash 10 you don't have to decode the song yourself. You can read decoded data out of a sound object using a similar API for how you do dynamic sound creation.

Good luck decoding an MP3 yourself though. It's not exactly an open standard

I dunno what's going on. The game doesnt crash, their monitor and my computer don't get along

The AV guy brought us a new cable today. Game has not hiccuped since, so it was the cable after all.

Most likely no. It's too crashy for public viewing, and I only really got it running stably on my own OSX machine.

Got 3 hours of sleep last night. Was up till 3 AM finish the game demo. IT'S READY. and it's early. Cause the event opens to the media at 8:30

PAX setop went.. OK. I ended up shelling out $80 for a sign to be printed at kinkos causer they didn't provide signs like they said they would. But oh man what a sign it is. 40''x20''. I may find a way to give it away in a contest after PAX. In an absolutely completely unrelated note, there is a paypal donate button on closuregame.com, maybe you could hit it?

Audio didn't work, so I have to bring my own speaker system. What a pain. Oh well this is what the setup day was for.

It's gonna be a photo finish getting the game ready in time. Starogre has all the art with him, he'll be here shortly and we can pop the art in the game when he gets here.

Saw dan paladin today setting up. I'm literally right across from them.

I personally think Dad's Game would have been better with a more fancy pants vibe to it (larger world, faster movement), and a little less destruction honestly. There was too much going on at once. I'd press a button and see 10 things fall down in smoke and flames. Larger world + faster/smoother movement + spread out items (a little more spread out) could have kept the same feeling to the game.

Comcast Story

So I upped my cable yesterday when a comcast guy came around to "check up on us". $10/m extra and I get comedy central and adult swim, the only 2 channels I actually care about outside of basic.

So he comes in, hands me a box and a remote (i made sure I didnt have to pay "rent" on the box, it was the free one). I come to find out, it's an SD box. It won't output the HD channels I receive. So I unplug it, and plug the cable back to the tv directly. I get my HD channels (basically fox and NBC come in as HD, and a few others say HD but all that's noticeable is the audio difference). And I get the rest of the channels too. Just, they're like channel number 103-9 instead of 60 like it should be. Ah well, I searched and wrte down the interesting ones on a piece of paper. Beats paying $6/m for an HD set top box. Fuck that.

And then he asked to use my bathroom. And I thought of jmtb's story.

If you guys have a few hours, I invite you to read the entirety of these threads. They may be long, but it's really interesting, hilarious, frustrating, and downright crazy. And it's a good read too.

http://www.igda.org/Forums/showthread.ph p?s=0d3e7147796d23db7e89d00438102ef5&thr eadid=35923&perpage=15&highlight=&pagenu mber=1

I've been following this since it unfolded in May (I even bought edge to show my support for the week it was back up) and there's more drama in it than any TV show or movie... it's worth a read if you have the time.

SUMMARY:

Mobigame makes an award winning iphone game, "edge"

Tim Langdell, of his own company "edge games" owns the trademark on the word "edge", and threatens to sue mobigame if they don't change it and if they do change it they owe him money anyway. Tim behaves less than professionally, and does such stuff as trademarking the name "edgy", which mobigame suggested as an other name for their game.

Langdell is on the board of directors of the IGDA. He claims he spawned [list of titles and EDGE magazine]. Proven false, even he says that Future Publishing is not his partner in his open letter (in a footnote, as contrary to saying that future publishing is his partner in the threat to mobigame)

The coming months provide a lot of drama on the subject, with hundreds of independent parties digging up dirt on Tim Langdell such as they can't find any game he made after 1990, and they can't find for sale any ports of the games he made in the early 80s. They found a restraining order against him from some actress. Everyone he ever talked to is coming out of the dark and calling him a con man. Court cases are being found, in the public record, where the courts reprimand him for his actions. His office is a rent-a-mailbox.

Tim writes an 'open letter' twisting his story around the facts dug up, and allegedly fabricating emails to prove his innocence.

The IGDA is getting ready to vote on his removal. The board did nothing, until they were required to due to a membership petition. Tim is responding to claims by calling everyone a liar, and threatening libel and defamation suits against people who just so much as quote his own email correspondence.

Mobigame is not making any money right now due to EDGE being pulled from the app store until the dispute is over. Langdell is purposely delaying in an attempt to get Mobigame to buckle.

There's a LOT more to the story, and you should really read his responses on the IGDA forum (starting on page 65 or so). My favorite, tim claims he never demanded money from anyone. Someone posts a link to a public record court case where tim's demanding money. Tim's response, word for word, is "1. not true"
