Response to: Most Common Weed Posted August 10th, 2011 in General

Well, if you're talking about the literal weed, you can smoke anything -- since anything and everything can be a weed when placed in the wrong context! If you're referring to marijuana, then there's only marijuana as far as I know, since I don't smoke weed.

Smoking it may or may not be addicting, harmful/destructive to your body, and there's been a lot of discussion which usually ends in a flame war by the users here. I don't know what's what of marijuana, so if you're planning to smoke some at least visit a doctor to see if you're healthy enough, and bribe him if you don't want him reporting on you, even though it is much more sensible to just not smoke it altogether.

Response to: Eternal Life... Posted August 10th, 2011 in General

Beware of eternal life -- you'd just be dooming the user you choose. For example, if you take the phrase "eternal life" it consists of immortality. It doesn't cover the full package -- insurance, ever-youth, or anything like that! So for example if anyone granted me eternal life, I'd be anything except good -- I'll be a shriveled nut a 1000 years later!

Technology may have the power to delay our deaths, but it doesn't cover being young forever yet! We'd be frail old people and we'd be nowhere in particular because we'd still be somewhere when the earth ends! We'd be suffering innumberable pain with the crushing force of the pressure generated by the earth, or the sun when it expands, and we'd just be sitting there, doing nothing! Think, man! This is something only the worst of worst enemies you'd give to!

Response to: Someone sent me a razor Posted August 10th, 2011 in General

That's pretty cool, but I must say that almost everyone has private information now, thanks to tracking cookies and whatnot. Check again, though; not any random company would send their product to people as a "birthday" gift -- a relative must've asked them for a special package with a "happy birthday" at the bottom and asked to send it to you, and they must've covered the costs.

Do enquire with any of your relatives, be it your parents, uncle, or anyone you know -- they might just burst out laughing when they find out you've found out their little ploy. There's no harm done if you ask; it's just an enquiry.

Response to: Whoa...that felt good. (pic) Posted August 10th, 2011 in General

Having seen the pic that you showed us all, I can very much say that it doesn't look like pus at all, as if you're trying to decieve us. BUT! I also saw the next pic of you having a hole in your thumbplate, and I can very much say that it's not a shoop, for those of you who are still unconvinced.

I'm very sorry to hear that you got an infection; you having to burn a hole in your tumb plate seems just plain gross, but that's just me. You can go to a doctor, get some advice and maybe some antiseptic, but that's all I can offer -- I don't have much knowledge on this part, but I must ask -- how did the infection develop? What were you doing that caused it?

Response to: IE and Firefox Posted August 10th, 2011 in General

Actually, I don't think IE is really all that bad performance-wise. All I know is that people prefer Firefox only because of the cosmetics -- it just tends to look better than the standard Microsoft IE. And I've seen people say that firefox is also better because of the addons, not true at all. You just get a browser for browsing the net and downloading files, what else? Anything else that's not part of the default browser when it is downloaded is just pure crap. Believe me, I have tried Firefox and it is so goddamn slow! It takes up to 2 minutes just to open on a cold start, whereas IE and Opera, Maxthon and Google Chrome take only 5 seconds at the max! Of course, firefox lovers might be flaming me for pulling numbers out my ass, but I'm not just pulling random numbers out my ass. I've actually tested it, and oft got impatient just waiting for it to start, maybe because of the amount of addons I have. It's not a load, just an amount some people would consider to be "normal".

Addons are useful, but it is just too plain unnecessary and has a dark side that is often not seen and is not taken into account -- they affect startup and initialization time. I've had the bare basic addons in firefox (adblock plus, Yoono! toolbar and bitcomet's video downloader, with Video Downloadhelper) and it's already bogging down my system. I've updated versions, addons and even know my computer's not so slow, it's firefox. It's taking too damn long to just load up.

On the other hand, IE runs smoothly, and takes only 2 times the time taken for Google chrome to start up, and that is a considerable lot if you compare that firefox takes up to 6 times the time.

I don't hate firefox, I have nothing against it, it's just the hype and the addons, along with more *ahem* competitive browsers popping up, it's lagging behind.

Response to: full qwerty keyboard phone Posted August 10th, 2011 in General

Oh, believe me I've seen that on my touchscreen phone already, except the ! key was just...a ! key. Not a shift of any other key...I agree, gone will be the days of !!!!111!!!!!!1111!!111, but if what you're saying really applies to every phone out there, then it'll change to !!!...!!..!!.!! ... but not everyone uses a phone, do they? For the most part, people use their PCs whereve they are stationed. Unless it's integrated into the normal PC keyboard we all know as of today, I don't think it'll mark the dawn of a new era. And I definitely know the QWERTY keyboard isn't changing a lot for most PCs out there, definitely not in the near future.

5 years later? Maybe. This year? No, not really. I wouldn't stretch my luck as far as to make a prediction like that, since PCs are, AFAIK, used more than mobiles as far as browsing is concerned.

Just my 3 here.

Response to: Photoshop A Little Lad Posted August 10th, 2011 in General

There's not much potential for this image -- the kid is holding his hands in an awkward position, which would only attract people 'shooping his fingers, which I see has already been done, with his stomach lying out in the middle and his body lying at an angle of around 45 or so. The most I can expect is 9/11 pics and some people shooping him skateboarding, but that's that since his legs aren't covered either.

There's no clear background either, and that would discourage many people who want to copy a transparent image into Paint or Gimp, and could miss some good work.

Get a better base pic, please.

Response to: NG Magazine Posted August 10th, 2011 in General

I wouldn't expect a lot really, seeing as there is a load of content to cover of Newgrounds, with fresh content arriving hot from the oven as the BBS, and the flash portal, not to mention the audio and art portals. It'd have a significant impact on the popularity of Newgrounds, but seeing as the site is generally meant for people either 13 or above or 17 and above, the best bet would be 13 and above.

Seeing as that would thoroughly boost the popularity of Newgrounds, it'd attract thousands of more '11ers that would wreck this safe haven for people, which would eventually bring down the NG magazine to prevent further users from joining in.

And that brings me to the point of users -- it all depends really, but usually the users, especially the new ones, are largely conditioned, so to say, by the reactions of the older people; if we accept them, they're less likely to become arrogant and idiotic fools, but if we don't, they might be arrogant idiots for all we know.

But really, I'd expect a lot more.

Response to: Is going Green a scam? Posted August 10th, 2011 in General

I don't buy green products -- even though they're percieved as a good alternative, the one at hand is usually the one that's more loyal, thus the "alternative" -- it wouldn't make a significant impact if I changed, for example, say, a lightbulb to a CFL. I'd maybe save some money in the process, but overall the difference is so minute it's probably not worth the time.

Call me lazy (and cynical), but I don't feel like going green at the moment -- the earth's not going to end tomorrow, is it? Of course not, that's why those companies started planning in advance -- so that they could get higher sales to prevent said destruction of earth.
