I know its not everyone but most of them. And also if u read my post u will see that I said I am one of those people to who dont have movies. And if u look in my sig. u will see i will have one coming so next time try and read the whole thing and not bits and pieces.

Yeah, I saw the part where you included yourself in the no-movies group, but if you read MY post, you would have noticed I didn't specify movie authors who respond to people with no movies in their profile with "SHUT UP, YOU HAVEN'T MADE ANYTHING SO YOU CAN'T TALK!" bullshit.

I was talking about ANYone who judges people based on flash or lack of flash on NG. So that includes you, not just those currently-getting-blammed-and-badly-reviewed authors.

So stop accusing me of not reading your post, when I read the whole fucking thing, and start realising that even "I know its not everyone but most of them." is a grossly inaccurate judgement of who likes Cat Stapler and who doesn't, and stop being prejudicial.

Taste is subjective. Some people like some things and some people don't. But it has about as much to do with whether they have movies on NG or not as it has with whether they're black or white.

You'll get a sense of how ppl around NG feel about it. Now read Hice's remarks. He decided to take the critism personally and and maliciouly started replying to ppl negatively. After a few members were attack, it was brought to our attention, I believe by Weaksause, so we did a mission of marking all our members reviews as Helpful. That was months ago. As far as the voting down, i take any threat to the NGA very personally and that were that come in. I will continue to vote the way I vote and i will not apologize for it now or ever.

I just wanted to clarify something: You make think it's unfair, but author responses to reviewers are NOT covered under any NG rules.

The reason we can and are encouraged to mark REVIEWS that deserve it as abusive is because abusive reviews can scare off good authors, and the administration does not want that. Abusive responses TO reviewers are not considered a big issue, as whether reviewers get "scared off" from reviewing is less of a concern than keeping flash artists on NG. Besides, reviewers have the option of being more careful with what they choose to review and how they choose to review it, while authors are open to criticism from everyone no matter what they do when the submit flash here. Reviewers have to reviewer in order to be respondable.

And in any event, how is voting a movie down an appropriate response to abusive responses, anyway? All you could do is hope that Hice reviews one of the NG Army member's flashes so you can be abusive back to him in those responses to his reviews. That would be more appropriate.

SPG talked me out of doing what i was going to do because it will cause more harm than good, thanks for waking me up SPG, i just needed to blow off steam.

What exactly were you going to do, exactly?

Special Ops isn't to blame, before it was restructed 2 weeks ago it was a dead section of the Army.

The logs showed hit list stuff going on for the past 2 months. Maybe there was a "lull" prior to 2 weeks ago, but a month ago and back there was talk of lowering flashes' scores.

This conversation is OVER.
If any member wishes to continue talking about this as if it's still relevent make a thread in the general. But talk about it ceases here. Even if some high lvl person come here to b*tch. Ignore them.

Dude, what the hell. You guys can tell your own NGA members to stop talking about these issues or they'll be demoted (although many of them seem to insist on continuing to talk about it anyway), but you can't mandate what goes on in the NG BBS in general. That sort of attitude was part of the reason this hit list stuff got so many old CC members pissed off at the NG Army as a whole, as it looks quite arrogant. Stop trying to control things about NG, you're not an admin here.

Now, that said, if you want to ensure no one replies to this portion of my message, then I will suggest anyone wanting to continue this discussion with me e-mails me and we can hold it in private (albeit even slower than it would be here, as I check my e-mail less often than I come to the NG BBS). In any event, an atmosphere of secrecy is the last thing you guys need to continue to uphold in this thread. Forbidding people their freedom of speech doesn't look good considering what's happened.

I am sorry, I didn't read anybody saying anything like that. I thought that this was happening recently, other than you telling me that it was being worked out over AIM which I forgot about when I went to read the General Topic. Now that I am done about that, how is everything...

What SPG meant is that he and other members WANT it to be a thing of the past. I wouldn't call last weekend the "distant past."

In any event, I am happy to see that most/all of the NGA forums are now visible. That shows you have nothing to hide anymore, and that's a good state to be in when it comes to coexisting with Wade's rules. A good start indeed.

What kind of logic is that? People with no movies hate those and people with movies love it because they're "more laid back"?!

I have no movies on NG, and I think Cat Stapler and Cletus the Fetus are fine.

I hate it when people judge reviewers/voters by whether or not they have movies on their account, it's totally prejudging people based on whether or not you think they've discovered the difficulties of the flash program (plenty of people have but haven't submitted anything to NG, or all their things have been blammed, BTW, and those possibilities don't show up in the blank movie slot on your profile).

IOW, nunchaku is the proper Japanese way to spell it, but most Americans say "nunchucks."

But nunchakus, BTW, is not correct. All plurals in Japanese are written and spoken the exact same way as singulars. Nunchaku refers to either one or both of the handles depending upon context. Ninja means either one ninja or more than one ninja, as "ninjas" isn't a word in Japanese.

You may be hitting a period where the percentage roundup is forcing the base to round up, followed by the bonus forcing the round up, etc. Think of it like a biorhythm. Right now they are out of synch so when one's low, the other is making up for it and nudging it over a rounding point, giving you more frequent 2day +.01s. At some point they will synch up and you'll hit a period where they both force a round up (which won't do anything extra) followed by neither forcing one making your 2days a lot less frequent.

And to put it another way...

The more b/p rankups you get, the higher your daily VP increase when you deposit...

but the more exp you deposit, the lower your daily VP increase when you deposit...

that might seem strange, but it's true. Before I hit EGSC, I'd started to get rarer and rarer 0.01 total VP increases, but since EGSC, it's been pretty steady at every 3 days for 0.01, with the occasional 2 day jump. But in a year, I expect it'll be every 3-4 days for 0.01, due to my exp being closer to humantarget, and thus my VP growing more slowly, especially without future b/p rankups to help. ;_;

Congrats on your Level up Herne. If you'd had been continually depoisting, you could have say hello to the Top 50 Exp list.

I always thoug 1 year of continous depoist= level14, and 2 year of continuous deposits-= Level17 and 3 year= 21. I'm not to sure anymore.

I signed up on 2/18/00, not too long before Herne did, and if I'd deposited every day, as of today I would have 15,020 exp, be ahead of everyone but humantarget52, Pimp, Shrapnel, and -bomb-...

IOW, I'd be #5 instead of BlueAsterisk/engeljager, and I'd be level 29 link Pimp, Shrapnel and -bomb- are.

As for Herne, he'd be around 14540 exp... which would put him just BARELY ahead of BlueAsterisk, so he'd actually be in #5, right behind me, and he'd be level 28.

You have to realise that how many years of continuous depositing = level 14, 17, or 21 are not the same now as they were 3 years ago.

Just guessing, but it's likely that either some flagged crap she voted 0 on got cleared, or sometimes BPs get "stuck" in the system and you finally earn points on them months down the road.

There's no way that stuck points would take from December 10th till March 20th to clear, and that's around the range of time she didn't get any points at all.

No, she was testing something out, I believe. Or messed up and left herself logged in when she was voting for Vash-the-Stampede's account. Can't remember which. yeah, I noticed that. I tried to vote for you, but it didn't work. What's up with that?

I think the issue is that my homepage is Base.html, but it's just framing code that kicks off the site. When I had it at the bottom of the news it was coming from Main.html and where I have it now it's coming from left.html. If the server is actually checking to see where the input came from, that's the problem and I'll likely have to reframe everything to get it to work. At that point I'll shift it someplace smaller screen views can see it.

You know, you COULD just stop using frames. I realise that my own site has them, but that's from like 5 years. If I was making a new site right now, I wouldn't use 'em.

Personally, I've already just made a shortcut to the actual list .htm because I don't want to bother with everything else when I'm just trying to save the htm of the list. BTW, saving as .html makes it all white-backgrounded. Bleh. Had to save as .mhtml instead to preserve the background colour/image/whatever.

In any event, you could just have index.html (so you wouldn't have to remember the filename, just the site/folder) be a list of links to other parts of the site, including the FAQ, the stuff about the list, the actual list, the raw profile link data, etc. etc.

This list topic and all the others are NOT stat topics because even though they're about lists of statistics on NG, they provide USEFUL INFORMATION TO ANYONE WHO READS THEM. Plus, they are for all the users ON the lists, and for anyone else not on the list that's interested in that list.

BVBG's topic WAS a stat topic in disguise because he apparently made it to say that he had hit 2000 posts himself, and then went on to hide that with all the "NG rules" stuff so people wouldn't get mad at him.

Now, if Dobio makes a topic when he hits 10,000 posts, he'll be guilty, too. But I suspect he'll simply post a POST in this topic saying it.

That's what you need to understand, people... posting a POST about the stat you just got is only REALLY bad if you make a whole freakin' new topic to do it.

how about you just stop changing your name every week? This is the THIRD time I've updated your info without knowing who you are at first. So I'm going to give you THREE options:

Either SAY who you are when you update your info (IOW, this time you should have said "I was BreadClock on the last update" and the time before you should have said "I was Fruitopia on the last update" and the time before that you should have said "I was Jawa on that last update" etc. etc. etc...

Or STOP changing your name...

I've been tracking everyone from Banana_Clock down to me at #220 for 3 weeks now, and since I have no idea who that 198 slot belongs to either, I think I can safely say that it is a NON-DEPOSITING blank spot, and as such will remain in the 5555-5608 forever. Maybe so, maybe so. But as you pointed out in CCC, you're having problems posting a lot lately with how the BBS is to you, so...

who knows. Alexsmolik has a good chance, too.

There are a lot of twin b/p-expers who have nearly or already broken 10k with both of those stats, but just don't post enough.

Personally, I was beginning to think my exp would never retake my post amount, but... I'm not quite to 5500 posts and my exp is about to hit 5300... it's keeping up fairly well. My prob is that I don't post for 3 straight days and then I post 30 in one day. Ends up being the same as the 10 exp per day, so they stay fairly even lately.

What about 10K in Exp, Blams, Protects, Reviews and Posts?

If you include reviews, as my list has as of late, then XwaynecoltX is clearly the favourite. He's already got 10k+ in b/p, he's going to hit 10k+ reviews soon... he's more than halfway to 10k+ exp... and all he needs is to post more, which is easily fixed if he wants it bad enough. #;-}>

hahahah. So funny.

Kind of the point actually, but I'll be nice ... someone had to take the picture. Hadn't been up to Rochester in a while, but that's a typical night out. Everybody was happy to see me, some more so than others ....

AFAIK nothing.

Sure they have a use.

They're good for increasing the amount of power you have over movies when you whistle them, and on reviews when you mark them as abusive.

For instance, a month ago my abusive mark scored a 1.33, but now it's up to 1.37. (Joe's is at a solid, unwavering 3.00, BTW).

Right. Jon, Greg, and I have been periodically chatting about this kind of thing the last few days.

BTW, I don't photoshop my profile pics anymore. I think I did some between April and June of last year, but then I discovered that editing the html of the profile (make sure to add in "http://www.newgrounds.com" into any "img src="/etc.etc."" spots so the pics would all load... was a much more effective and quick way of doing things. or more importantly, especially to people like Dogma and me...

you could find out how much exp points they have, how many blams and saves they have, and what their Voting Power is.

I miss user profile search. ;_;

BTW, it's interesting how it either happens to the top 50 most recent or the top 50 overall, but NEVER to the 2 top 20 lists. Perhaps making the 2 50 lists more like the 2 20 lists (in terms of coding) would fix the problem.

no prob and usally when i do use the words fag or w/e its only in post own posts, i never tell that to anyone directly, its just not my style

better to use it in a way that isn't an attack on someone else, but best yet to not use it at all.

HOORAY!

BTW, why did you stop depositing exp on Severed Heads for like 3 weeks and then restart?
Well, I went to the site oneday and the site was down because they didnt pay to renew it, or something like that. So, after a few days I was like, "oh well, fuck it." Then, I went there a few days ago, and it was up and running! So, now I have to try and remember to deposit there again.

ahhh, heh. Yeah, I remember that day. But when the site stopped working, that was only because the .com or .net (I forget which) domain name was gone. The other one still worked (I switched my bookmark to SeveredHeads from SH.com to SH.net... or SH.net to SH.com, can't remember which, again and everything was fine).

Really, its okay? Ted was sorta giving me a bit of a hard time for it. Maybe you could post something in the mod lounge explaining karma and Mafia children...most of the mods are cool with me, but I still want to be on the safe side, you know? But yes, I may take you up on that because im begining to make that thread a little project of mine. Whateva man.

I wasn't saying you should, but as long as you aren't stalking people from topic to topic, you can indeed show them that they're being hypocrites by wanting to "attack" other clubs but not being able to handle the stark truth being told to them in their OWN club. IOW, they can sure dish it out, but they can't take it.

Can we call them sissyfux or homofaises? How about dweebs?

sissyfux is fine. homofaises is gay-related, so no. dweebs is fine.

Sure he was in it. He was one of the half-dozen Mafia members I banned back when you first told me about what they were doing.

that's a bit of an overcompliment, but I just wanted to squeeze all my points into one post, and AMAZINGLY I was able to for once. That huge post up there makes a lot more sense when taken in the context of the posts from ngarmy.com that I posted over in the topic on general, so if anyone's going "huh? What's he talking about specifically?" please click on that link to page 5 of that topic over there for more information.

I fully agree... but that's why we're making our best effort possible to end any of this kind of action. We can't undo what we've done, but we can stop it and discourage the behavior.

Indeed. And I applaud you and Enoll's attempt to get this situation under control, it's very admirable. I share Recon's disgust with the people who were dropping out of the NGA left and right over this whole thing.

Just because one bad thing was happening with regard to the NGA doesn't mean that there needs to be a huge stigma on your club. If you can fix that ONE problem, things will be cool again... and then a lot of the people who quit are going to try to rejoin. I suggest you all become much more picky about who you let join from now on. That would fix a lot of future problems, even if it makes you look exclusionary.

A) there are an amazing amount of ignorant sounding members on your forums who type fairly randomly about how they just "BLAMMED ALL THE MOVIES ON THE HIT LIST!"...
We've begun the process by locking any topics having to do with "hit lists" or anything similar. Our second step was to threaten demotion/discharge to any new topics suggesting or approving of such.

That's all good, but like I said, it was more the attitudes and misinformed talk of a lot of users that I was talking about in A).

B) Paulz mentioned voting Hice's movie down to 0.20 being a "personal" matter.
Hehe... I'll say more about this in a second...

... you never said anything more about it! Now you have my curiosity's attention. Please do tell. #;-}>

C) and I feel this one is most important:

STOP BLOCKING ANY OF THE FORUMS ON THE NGARMY.COM SITE FROM PUBLIC VIEW.
Yes, there were some forums that were blocked previously for member privacy reasons... but the mass blocking of the site to public view was done by paulz... some of us believe his actions to have been unprofessional and panicked. We're working on cleaning things up at the moment, and I've requested the site owner (Jacket_Joe/Jujube_Lock) to re-open all forums for all to see.

Good. Just as long as the bulk of the site is open, the apparent attitude of your club as a whole towards the REST of NG will be more open... and as a result, you won't be shutting yourself off from the rest of us so much. I think that attitude of secrecy (which I already compared to Enron exec's attitude before, but it really is true... that's how it comes off) really drives a wedge between members of NG who happen to be in the NGA and members who aren't. I think it emphasizes the differences more than the similarities, and as such doesn't help.

So I'm happy to hear about any efforts in getting the forums more open to all... in terms of VIEWING, of course.

Being super-picky about who can post WHERE on the forums is another matter... and much more necessary.

At 3/29/04 03:43 PM, SouthPhillyGangsta wrote: Here is where I step in,the only reason why that happened was because of the people registering there and SPAMMING every single topic there was at the site...Making the site go down was the best thing to do because it stopped them from spamming our site....Thats like you buying a million dollar car and living in the ghetto without a car alarm(You know someone out there'll try to steal it) so you buy an alarm.

Maybe you guys need a different registration system. I recommend you have a page on the website that has a form to enter in your name, e-mail, NG alias, NG ID#, and voting power... and perhaps some other things like what areas of the NG Army the person is interested in (and they would be able to find out what they're most interested in more easily if they can view most of the forum already before they get registered, too, so that's a bonus)...

and then the form results would go to one or several NG Army Generals...

the person could be approved by one or more people...

and then that person is personally (instead of automated) e-mailed approval and a password and given their rank or whatever.

That way, you won't have problems with people like Wolf- who have a vendetta and want to spam up your forums... you will have control over who POSTS on the forums, but allow all non-members to READ the forums.

That, to me, is the ideal situation. But it's up to you guys to design a solution to this, and then to implement it, of course. Good luck to you all, I hope it goes well. And with this now in the past, I think the future looks bright for the NG Army and its members.
