Maybe there's something in there.

I was looking at transform, which allows you to specify the color with an offset, but that still wouldn't do the trick because the offset would still modify the black at times.

At 7/30/07 04:04 PM, daperson1 wrote: Why would it be so hard?
You use attachMovie to dump your thing on the stage, and the thing you're attaching has the inner clip in it to start with

You're missing the point. The whole problem would be DEFINING the inner part. Again, I have hundreds of MovieClips. I would have to go trough each one and define each white part as a new MovieClip, modify layering to make it look right and not go over the border, and it would take forever and wouldn't be very versatile for when you add new MovieClips.

Alternatively, post your code and let me tinker, or mail FLA to admin@earthnemesis.com.

There's nothing to look at, but thanks. To look at it, just create a while square with a black border (black border, white fill), and try to get the while part to change color WITHOUT making it its own MovieClip without the border.

Yeah, I've been looking in to other functions and I can't really seem to find a way to detect actual colors.

Yeah actually I didn't realize they are releasing a new version of Office for the Mac.

With that said, there still is a software gap and when I see no clear advantages of the Mac over Windows the software gap is the deciding factor for me.

I believe it does.

They were owned by the same company, and I'm sure the FlashPlayer TOS says by submitting the game to them, it gives them the right to put it on any of their network sites, AddictingGames being one of those.

So that is certainly not stealing.

Now, should my account be deleted for that? As you can see, I'm hardly spamming with posts such as these, but should I be excluded from the site for making some honest mistakes? Think a little. Such a rule would inadvertantly get rid of many good users.

Wait what? Using the numbers I gave, your account would NOT have been deleted. 5 bans isn't that excessive.

But a user who constantly makes stupid posts IS hurting people. It's not what Wade wants. I ruins the community. It's more work got the mods.

But to elaborate a little more.

Maybe the policy can use the LENGTH of the bans in order to calculate the ration. Like if you get banned for 3 days, that's 3 ban points. Then instead of using bans for penalizations, use ban points. That way, you are penalized for the severity of your actions.

Also, this is why discussion is good. We can work on elaborating it.

I am in no way saying penalize first time offenders.

But if you are honostly going to sit here and preach to me that people who have been banned 10 times before 400 posts are the members who are good for this forum, and should be giving additional chances with out penalization, then this place is getting really messed up.

That's nothing to be proud of. It makes you a prime example, unfortunately, of why a policy like this is needed. I have been banned 0.5 times in all my time here, and have way over 2,000 posts.

We are continuing our "referall" program. If you put PHP: Main in your signature, you can get on the list under supporters with a link to your website. Simply put a link in your signature, and post here and say that you have put it in. You will be included in the next update.

One of the great things about running PHP: Main is that so many people take their time to submit great tutorials. I seldom have to reject tutorials because the quality of submitted ones are usually so high. On the page before last, we got a few that just weren't suitable. I was away, and these tutorials were included as it wouldn't have been fair for someone volunteering to post the list to reject them, but I did. If you feel your tutorial was rejected and shouldn't have been, please post in the PHP: Main discussion thread, or if you'd rather talk in private, feel free to PM me.

Aahh so much to talk about. Some programming forum regulars have suggested that instead of having the tutorial author's name link to their website next to their tutorial, to have a list like supporters that is "Tutorial contributors" that has all the links instead. Please pop into PHP: Main discussion to give some thoughts on this. Thanks.

Because of all the chaos from last update when I was away, I kept the "* NEW *" next to that updates new tutorials. Also, I want to thank Danny for making the update, Doofy for coordinating the update, and Sarai for cleaning the complete page mess up.

Also, on this update, I started a Other links category. Please pop into PHP: Main discussion thread and suggest some more.

As always, please report any mistakes.
