It seems that the PLAY-button doesn't work anymore.
I've tried using Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer but no such luck.

I didn't make any changes to the game prior to it no longer working, so I'm not sure what happened. I fixed it though now, so it should be working again.

Response to: The moon landing was so fake. Posted August 14th, 2014 in General

You want to know why if we did go to the moon why we haven't been back? Well, there is a good answer for that. We have. 6 times. Last time being in 1972.

Even if you do not trust our government to be telling you the truth, consider this; America and Russia were not on friendly terms at the time, and the two countries were racing to beat each other to the moon. What is known now as the space race. If America had simply lied about going to the moon, Russia would have called us out on it, and gone up there to prove we were never there. There is no logical reason for Russia to play along with a hoax lunar landing.

Plenty of skinny people do the exact same thing and then don't exercise. Nobody gives them crap yet I'm sure they are not healthy, either. It just isn't as obvious by looking at them.
I'm not shaming her for being fat as much as I'm shaming her for eating unhealthy. I was skinny and unhealthy at one point too. The point is, I wish she would treat her body better. Every day 100's die of heart disease. IN AMERICA.

How exactly do you know she doesn't eat more healthy at home? Just because you saw her eat in public doesn't mean you know the entirety of her eating habits. Plus, the fact that she is swimming means she is... you know... EXERCISING. Swimming is an extremely efficient exercise that works out the whole body. Are you seriously complaining about a person being fat, while also complaining that they are willingly exercising while daring to be fat?

Just like there are skinny people who cannot hold an ounce of fat no matter how much they eat, there are also people who can't lose a pound while eating a balanced diet. Expecting everyone who is naturally heavy to rely on starvation diets simply because you can't stand to see overweight people in public is completely unreasonable. If you were concerned even the slightest bit for her well being as you were pretending to earlier, you would be encouraging her exercise, not attacking her for trying.

Response to: America Appreciation Thread Posted August 10th, 2014 in General

I will appreciate America as soon as I don't need to beat my forehead into my desk every time I hear a politician speak. It is amazing how so so many of our politicians manage to maintain such a loose grip on reality. Every other day it seems like one of them is either sabotaging the nation just to spite the other party or saying something that directly contradicts what they said sometime before.

Response to: Slave labor still exists in America Posted August 9th, 2014 in General

I actually would not be surprised if prisoner labor isn't a major contributing factor for why we have such an absurdly high percentage of our population behind bars. Besides that, Prison doesn't even rehabilitate that well. Turns out robbing someone of years of experience in society, forcing them live with other criminals, and making them almost unhirable in the future just makes a person more likely to return to a life of crime.

Response to: Ebola virus outreak Posted August 9th, 2014 in General

From what I have heard, It only transfers through the exchange of bodily fluids. So, there shouldn't be much spread as long as nobody goes to Africa, kisses someone with ebola, then goes back to their own country to open a kissing booth.

Response to: Black Jesus? Christians say no! Posted August 9th, 2014 in General

If a work's gimmick is explicitly that a character is a certain race, odds are really, really good that the work is going to be pretty racist. There is no reason to point it out in the title unless it is going to be a primary recurring gimmick. Given that it is airing in the adult swim programming block, the most likely outcome is a show full of offensive black stereotypes, with a possibility of either religion bashing, or having "Black Jesus" playing the role of "only sane man" to drive in the juxtaposition between how the media thinks all black people act, and how Jesus says we should act.

The likelihood of a thoughtful commentary of modern life coming out of a show with this title in that programming block is extraordinarily small.

Response to: WTF is with the word "Bae"? Posted August 8th, 2014 in General

The problem is, most words came into existence due to the need for a word to describe a concept that no other word expressed effectively, or because the original word was difficult to say in conversation. A four letter word is not exactly in dire need of a short hand version.

I don't think the OP is appropriate in the level of aggression he's taking, but that doesn't mean you need to take a hard opposite stance in response. Baby is a gender neutral, short word that isn't mistaken for many, if any other words. Bae's shortness doesn't really give much benefit, but it does have two homophones, and a ton of one syllable rhyming words.

Response to: indiegogo or kickstarter Posted August 7th, 2014 in General

Well, if you need a specific amount of money to do the project and cannot do so otherwise, a kickstarter project would probably give you the best chance of success. If you have a project you know you can finish as is, but any amount of raised funds would help, Indiegogo would probably be a smarter choice.

fieldertiger, let me just say as another autistic person; autism is no excuse for your behavior here.

I understand, from personal experience that it can be hard to learn and understand WHY people feel certain ways or react to certain behaviors. You can at least however be intelligent enough to realize that people DO feel these things and react to certain behaviors. It really is not impossible to say to yourself "I don't know why everyone gets upset when I say certain things.. but they do, and knowing that I have a social disability, I should assume I am doing something wrong here".

The most I have ever needed to ask of any online community in relation to my own autism is to be direct about telling me when I have done something upsetting to them; as I would often completely miss more subtle hints. I have not needed that in a long time though.

Autism is not a shield against criticism. It is a reason you should take criticism extra seriously.

Response to: Why ppl hate DeviantArt Posted August 7th, 2014 in General

Better than pointing out that there is good art on deviantart; Go to just about any good artists' gallery, and click back to their oldest work. You usually see a lot of terrible artwork that is just as bad as, or worse than the bad artwork that floods the site now.

I think a lot of people forget that almost everybody starts out terrible at art. It's a skill that takes a lot of practice, and without a friendly, and open place to post and get encouragement, a lot of people who are great artists now might not have stuck with it long enough to get there.

You can hardly expect people to develop a skill that takes years to learn if every community involving the skill was restricted to experts only.

I'd say about... 0 in 1? The bomber's password is always a combination using exactly 1 of each of the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Each of the bombers have a different number on their back, and the password is given by them lining up and turning around so you can see what order each number goes in. So, the only way what you describe could happen is in a glitchy, or hacked game. (though perhaps getting a glitchy/hacked copy of the game without noticing it might count as some sort of luck)

Response to: Is gaming really dying? Posted June 22nd, 2014 in Video Games

I suppose it is a reaction to games moving from being heavily focused towards hardcore gaming to casual gaming which does not suit their interests as strongly. For a parallel, imagine if Hollywood suddenly started only releasing big budget movies in one or two genres that you don't like and putting almost no money into the ones you do.

While it is not accurate to say that gaming is dying; it is understandable that it would seem that way to old school gamers, since they are getting less out of the medium than they used to.

I wish for a lifetime supply of beer from a brewery of my choice.

Granted. A rich guy takes a liking to you and buys the brewery to give you free beer from it. Knowing little about brewing but being a 'hands on' sort of guy, he tinkers with their methods and ruins the taste of the beer.

I wish for the ability to cause random song and dance numbers to happen in real life.

The quest for an artist partner Posted February 14th, 2013 in Collaboration

Greetings! I am horrible at art! :D

Which would of course be why I am looking for an artist. I am looking for someone who can draw, and animate all the art assets such as characters, objects, backgrounds and things like that.

I am hopeful that this could develop into a long term partnership benefiting both of us, if we get along and work together well. I am willing to work on your game ideas as well as my own.

For the project I have in mind at the moment, I am wanting to make an action platformer, with a fairly open world environment to encourage exploration. I have done two platformers so far, which have both done decently, and went mildly viral with 700k views total among the sites Bob the Archaeologist spread to, and almost 800k on Sapphire Slime

<a>http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/605489<a>
<a>http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/600771<a>

I am hopeful that a game made combining the best elements from these games, with good original art will result in something even more successful.

As far as compensation goes, i would prefer to do an even revenue split of the mochi ad revenue, and any contest/sponsorship revenue. As I am looking for more of a partner than an employee. If you prefer to be paid upfront, I can try to see if I can afford it, but my budget is fairly low at the moment.

If you have any questions I'll do my best to answer them. Thanks for your time reading all this. :)

The thing is, there's nothing stopping you from using previously made work. Developers who've been working for a longer time would naturally have an advantage either way, by having more experience.

With that said, I do think it's not fair to allow games that were published before, however, the reason this contest was created in the first place is to get people to use Stencil, so even if it gets people porting their games, it's still getting more people to use it, and it's all in good spirit really. I wouldn't focus too much on who wins what if I were you. If you've made a game and entered it, whether you won an arbitrary prize or not, you got something much bigger, that is you created something. You can then go on to sell your game or use your gained knowledge to create even better games.

There is no doubt that experience gives an advantage, but it is a fair advantage based on accumulated skill. As you learn you improve, and that is largely expected. The contest would make you test your skills and improve yourself. If reposts were acceptable it would encourage the idea of saving time and effort by reposting safe games and not needing to worry about deadlines or worry about having a low score.

I do see your point about the contest being more about trying stencyl so hopefully this is a special case and not something likely to happen often

Concern about the Stencyljam Posted August 3rd, 2012 in General

First of all; I did not enter any game into the contest, so I am not complaining because I think I will lose or out of any form of jealousy against a game performing better than one of my entrees. I have noticed something unfair to people who enter contests in general and would like to point it out.

There is an entry in this contest called 'Tanooki Tracks' that is doing fairly well because it has a lot of polish and goes a step beyond the ordinary formula of a point and click hidden object game. The problem though is; this is not an original game! It was re-posted for the sole purpose of entering the contest.

Now, the video description does say newgrounds said it is ok to do that; so, he did this with permission. So, my issue is slightly more with the people in charge of the contests than with him.

Basically; how is it fair to other contestants if certain well established and successful game designers can simply re-post a game they already know is good based on previous scores and not actually have to put any new effort into the new contest?

Most of these designers are working in a rush to get a game done within the month of the contest; making art, music, sounds, coding, testing. This guy just had to port his game into a different format and make sure it didn't break.

Ultimately the rules are up to you guys since its your site; I just wanted to bring up my concern about fairness. I feel that if a repost qualifies as an entry it gives an unfair advantage to developers who already have high scoring games against developers who are trying to make something original.
