Stop your bitching and do something about it.

Response to: Nostalgia Time - The 1990's Posted March 19th, 2011 in General

Favorite Games: Early 90s consoles.

- Illusion of Gaia.

While a largely underground RPG, this probably helped to formulate my philosophy on life and contemplated on the potential of a human being. I actually got it from a neighbor who was moving and told me to have his games.

- Kirby: Superstar

Oh man, the awesome music, the fun gameplay, and Milkyway Wishes...damn...This is another game that helped me to maintain my innocence and overall sanity in my home, and in essence the game served as an allegory for my life. Weird...

-Super Mario RPG: Legend of the 7 Stars

This game was Final Fantasy for beginners, and even still, it was a great Nintendo game. I will never forget it.

- Final Fantasy III

If you've played it, you'll understand completely.

Later 90's Consoles:

-Banjo-Kazooie

This game was the pinnacle for 64-bit 3d platforming. Not only did it have free-roaming worlds, but the gameplay was crisp and the gaming innovative.

- Zelda: The Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

Both games are classics even to today, and both are superior to a majority of today's games, TBH.

- Final Fantasy X

Now before you get on my case that this was made in 2001, this signaled the end of my childhood. Going from the youthful ignorance of the past to the painful burden of responsibility and reality made itself known partially with this game. To me, this was on par with many of the great's of the 90's.

Movies:

Well...I was more a gamer than a movie buff, but I'll try my best.

- Ferngully: The Last Rainforest

Damn, the nostalgia I get from this movie. Heck, when I was 4 at the time I couldn't get enough of the movie, and the bat in the movie is probably 60 percent of the love factor I have for it.

- Schindler's List

I did not see the movie when I was a kid at the time, but damn, the ending nearly had me to tears.

Steven Spielburg is a creative genius. To me, he was as Shigeru Miyamoto was to video games. He brought movies back to life. Honestly, were would movies be today without him?

But I digress. Anywho that's about it. The 90's shaped me into the kid I am today, and I'm grateful to say I am proud of it.

Marijuana effects the memory.

I believe it was that thread I made about the "How long have you been on the BBS" after the probable-mass-trolling that was the "Mod Punishment" thread.

I was feeling rather depressed that people were throwing out what I had to say from the get go but you were one of the few initial posters who took the thread seriously and gave a logical output.

Which do you go to for an identity? Posted March 19th, 2011 in General

Would you rather know yourself for what others think of you, or know yourself for who you think you are?

Do you think you can find 'yourself' on your own, or do you need the help and view of others to help define your psychology and overall personality?

For me, I probably depend on others to show me the kind of person I am, but I do tend to think of who I am better without the biases of other people. In real life, is this the case for you?

In laymen's terms, do you need the help of your peers to 'know yourself', or do you even 'know yourself'?

Now let us take a step back and reexamine this information. Scientists agree that the Big Bang happened, and it is now being said that time itself DID exist before the Big Bang occurred.

Hey...hey psst...did you know people thought the earth was flat? Guess what, after the appearance of empirical evidence, that little theory changed. I guess there weren't any 'pillars of the earth' or sky waterbowl aka 'firmament' after all! Looks like the sky was blue due to light refractions from oxygen particles! Gee wilikers!

This means that there was a point in time, before the Big Bang, where a great deal of matter and energy did not exist.

Hmm...so that shit I just took came from nowhere.(What I mean is that the Big Bang was an explosion of materialthat was already there, meaning that anything previous would be a tad bit near impossible to document.) I gotta know how this crap happens man! Next thing you know chicks get pregnant for no effing reason at all, and not from the joining of a sperm and an egg to form a fertilized zygote and undergo miosis!

Then, after the Big Bang, this matter and energy existed.

I'm guessing you failed elementary Physics. If you say there was time before the Big Bang, then energy and matter had already existed.

Refer to: Matter or Energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only transferred.

Aside from the obvious issues of conservation of mass and energy one must consider that the second law of thermodynamics stipulates that the universe will proceed towards disorder. This being said, if the Big Bang event really happened, which scientists believe, then it was by its very definition a supernatural phenomenon. After all, it is violating the first two laws of thermodynamics.

Ever hear something called Dark Energy? Google 'er up, you will find it's functions in the processes of the Universe quite interesting.

This is where I point out the asinine mockery that atheists use when they bring up the "flying spaghetti monster" comment.

Tee-hee.

They purport to say that the existence of God is utterly ridiculous, but what I find ridiculous is how one would prefer to believe in a supernatural event that occurred without cause and has never occurred again since. If the Big Bang event really happened, and it wasn't the work of God, then it would require us to choose between the Big Bang or the Laws of Thermodynamics. Otherwise, the atheistic standpoint stands on a scientific contradiction.

We don't choose between anything, we only experiment, document, and theorize. In addition...Gosh, I'm not qualified enough to correctly answer, so your ignorance is left standing. Tell this to your Physics teacher and she will explain to you and so much more.

To me, it seems like a done deal. I don't know for certain which religion (if any) is the truth, but it seems to me that atheism simply isn't possible scientifically. I apologize for the long read, but if you made it through, grats. Here's a cookie.

No, it seems to me like you're a troll or uneducated. Religion is a system based on faith, which requires no and refutes scientific evidence against it.

PS. I like PB cookies better,
