SPOILER (BOOK 6)

This is part of the reason that I think that Dumbledore is really dead. It's the classic hero story, where the mentor needs to die in order for the hero to achieve his goals. It's like that in SW and it's seen throughout literature.

You don't need to ask, just contribute.

I went to a party last night at a comic/toy shop and they had a whole corner of HP stuff. I wanted to get a broom but didn't have $75 :\ They had school scarves, but their Ravenclaw ones were blue and silver PFT. >:(

Remember what Dumbledore said in CoS: "You will find that I will only truly have left this school when none here are loyal to me. You will also find that help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it."

POSSIBLE SPOLIER

I think Harry will go back to Hogwarts in Book 7, maybe not for classes, but to talk to the portrait and ask for help. There are many at Hogwarts still loyal to Dumbledore, students and teachers, so he hasn't truly left the school. However, I do believe that yes, he is indeed dead.

POSSIBLE HBP SPOLIER

It's obvious to me that there was something going on between Snape and Lily. They may not have been dating, but HBP clearly points to some sort of relationship between them. Until now, we've heard that Lily was skilled in Charms and her wand was excellent for charm work. In HBP, many times after Harry follows the notes in his potions book, Slughorn comments that he was just like his mother, or that it was something his mother would have done.

Well the story goes that Regulus joined up with the Death Eaters, made his parents proud, but then, as Sirius said, realized just how deep he got himself into and tried to leave the group. However, you don't just quit being a DE, so Voldemort killed him (or had him killed). After reading HBP and getting to the thing I mentioned above, I've got some other ideas on why/how Regulus was killed.

I wrote a huge long post here and tried to hide it as a spoiler, but it thought it was quoted text and got rid of it all >:( Let me try this again, but it won't be as good or as in depth.

SPOILER

The Horcrux in the cave was a locket, but it wasn't the real one and a fake locket and a note from R.A.B. were left in its place. The OOP found an unopenable locket while cleaning out the Black's house for HQ. It could be that Regulus died before destroying it.

At work I've just installed PHP with IIS on windows, not as bad as I thought, I've only installed PHP on Windows and Fedora using Apache before, but I'm at work, so I need to use IIS. Now I can keep working on learning this stuff, since I don't get to my home computers so much.

Congrats Tom :) It's quite an accomplishment!

I'm sure there are many users that can't even remember 10 years ago, let alone have a site survive 10 years, especially through all the bullshit and crap that's gone on with the internet.

I remember the first time I ran across your site, during Fall 96 my freshman year at college. OMG unlimited internet at the campus computer lab on (now) ancient gateway 2000 machines running Windows 95. Ahhh the memories of procrastinating final term papers and playing plain-HTML click-through-page-to-page Assassin missions. :D

I haven't gotten in a fight in the longest time, had a few instances in grade school, but not when I got to high school. High school girls are much worse with their words than with their fists, and man freshman year was HELL for me. But I got over it, and basically just ignore those girls when I see them. It's funny when I run into them and they're all "OMG I haven't seen you in forever! How are you?! We HAVE to get together!" and I just say "sure call me" and walk away.

I took a self-defense class last year and I'm thinking of taking it again. It's awesome. I love how the first night we're mostly timid and by "graduation" we're punching and kicking and yelling. It's very empowering.

Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life
Airs Saturday, July 2 at 9 pm et/pt

In just a few mouse clicks, good-natured student and athlete Justin Peterson (Jeremy Sumpter) went from your average hormonally charged teen to an Internet porn addict. He puts his future and family into total turmoil by letting curiosity turn into obsession.

"This is an important topic because online porn addiction can affect all ages," says "Cyber Seduction" executive producer Michael Bremer. In fact, according to a recent survey, 90% of eight- to 16-year-olds with Internet access have viewed porn online, mostly while doing homework. "Addicts blur the lines between fiction and fantasy, creating devastating effects on relationships," adds executive producer Paul Goff.

Can Justin kick this self-destructive habit? Tune in to find out!

07/05 Homolka released from prison Posted July 5th, 2005 in Politics

Reviled inmate is now a free woman
12-year term for rapes, killings ends
July 5, 2005
BY BETH DUFF-BROWN
ASSOCIATED PRESS

MONTREAL -- Canada's most notorious female inmate was secretly spirited from prison Monday after serving 12 years for the rapes, torture and slayings of three teenage girls, including her younger sister.

Karla Homolka, 35, received the relatively light sentence in return for testimony against her ex-husband Paul Bernardo. Homolka told the court and psychiatrists she was a battered wife who took part in the rapes and slayings to protect herself and her family.

Months after prosecutors made the deal, however, Bernardo's attorneys handed over homemade videotapes by the couple that indicated Homolka was a willing participant.

I agree with LadyGrace, but somehow it always comes back to bite me in the ass. For instance, it's generally not a good idea to answer a woman's "do I look fat in this?" questions, and I never want to answer a man's "does penis size really matter?" Because no matter what you say, YOU DON'T WIN. Most guys' first reactions to "size doesn't matter to me" is "OMG then I have a tiny penis?" which is not true but then you can't tell them that.

In related news, I don't think I've been with anyone who had an unusually large or small penis.

You're right, she would have liked that.

The week before, we spent Christmas Day at their house. The hospice had brought a bed over for my grandmother and it was kept in the living room. She was really out of it then but her face lit up when we were opening gifts. I bought her sheets for the bed (my grandparents didn't have any twin sheets) and my brother gave her some front-button nightgowns (I think they may even have been maternity nighties). He held one up so she could see if and she laughed at a 13-yo boy in a woman's nightie.

07/01 Gay marriage in Spain Posted July 1st, 2005 in Politics

Spain OKs gay marriages to tears, jeers
The Associated Press

Supporters of gay marriage kiss outside the Spanish parliament in Madrid yesterday after the government voted to give homosexuals the same rights as heterosexuals.
MADRID, Spain - Spain yesterday became the third country to legalize gay marriage in a vote by parliament that left gay activists blowing kisses to lawmakers and the powerful Roman Catholic Church issuing veiled calls for defiance.

The new law increases the chances of happiness for "our neighbors, our work colleagues, our friends, our relatives," said Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
