So my school has been constantly pretty cool.
We have web oage design classes, computer repair etc classes even programming classes. (and the good kind like flash games and stuff.) And now the school is even having a Guitair Hero turnement! Since its a school im cutting it slack and not getting pissed that its GH2 on the PS2. Which is pretty cool since you get out of 5th hour to play GH if you singied up. And it was free and stuff. So towmarrow (on my birthday none the less) I skip 5th for GH and 6th and 7th to watch some school play.

OK, I got the Orange box like last week.
I tried HL-2 first. Works fine and still works fine.
Then I tried Portal worked for about a day then crashed.
I got a blue screen of death. (Then the BSOD got a error and the comp rebooted.)
It started crashing it when I turned it to windowed mode.
I tried changing it back to maximized in properties.
Didn't work.
I asked last week and we nailed it down to going to launch options in steam.
But I got a error message that said I had to be a advanced user.
WTF is that?

I got a upgrade to my Graphics card and my AMD CPU.
It ran fine then. But I switched it to Windowed mode and it crashes every time. (It shows the blurry main menu (when it's loading the main menu.) then crashes right before the main menu loads.)
I tried TF-2 about 3 hours ago and it crashed (BSOD) right before Dustbowl loaded.
It makes my computer restart. (Faster than a normal restart but nothing is saved.)
I haven't tried HL-2 E1 or 2 yet though.

To put it simply.
1. How can I switch portal to Full screen without loading portal? (I tried properties doesn't work.)
2.What is causing this error? (Why does HL-2 run fine?)

I'm running on a 06 laptop BTW.
Presario Compaq.
It has the Portal recommend . A ATI graphics card. (Default prepacked card.)

And no I cannot afford a new graphics card or CPU.
