Response to: need advice (experienced animators) Posted July 1st, 2007 in Game Development

hey guys, thanks for all of the help. it's nice to know that there are still fellow animators that can help each other out : )

i'm trying to make a flash with anime characters. now so far i'm pretty good at drawing anime with a pen and paper, but after seeing some of the tutorilas on newgrounds, i'm seriously considering making an anime flash of my very own! but so far i haven't been able to create even one animation. drawing in flash is very hard to do. it is just too tedious and time consuming to create the details. i have tried some techniques used by anime animators, but it still looks crappy. if anyone can give me some advice, or could actually take the time out of their day to teach me some lessons in animating. i would be very gratefull!

another small thing that i would really like to know is:
how do you guys animate so quickly!
honestly i try very hard to animate, and i beleive that i have many very good ideas and storylines. but here i am, a single animator, working my ass off trying to animate to the very best of my abilities and i am not even able to get a short 1 minute movie to work without having to take hours upon hours and days upon days, and in the end i have not even made half of my movie yet..... it drives me crazy! please, all i need is one wise animator, one benevolent god of animation to tell me the secrets of animation.... please......

well.... thats that i guess. so feel free to post any words of wisdom that you may have to help me out...
or please feel free to contact me by email at shadoman2006@hotmail.com

my flash program is Flash MX

hey guys, im just going to ask you.
if you made a music video, how do you add the sound and make the video to sync up with the music?

i consider myself to be a pretty good animator by my schoolmate's standards but i just don't know how to sync the animations properly with the music, since i have to add many scenes to it.

please, i need all kinds of advice, cause those other flash tutorials are crap.

trust me, i'm not going to post it on newgrounds. this is actually going to be my first crack at creating sprite flash, basically, it's practice. and i just want to work out all of the kinks first.

words go here. :)
Um, making a stick figure movie isnt that great. Its pretty much what most teens do as their first movies. Thank god I wasnt one of those kids.

actually it is. most flash movies are limited in quality, plus i havn't seen many flash movies that had actual actions for their charachters. more of subtle movement every now and then. stick figures on the other hand have a wide variety of movements. and they are easy to create. plus better quality than most flash movies. and they are quite fast paced. if you want an example of the type of flash movie that i am trying to create then go to
www.stickpage.com
and look up a movie called Killing Spree

dont get people to do ur work for u.

all of my movies so far have been experiments with flash. i have only just recently started to make better movies. and i do not want people to do the work for me. i need people to create content on the movie after it is finished (ie. games and other development) and possibly help out with correcting weak points in the movie. i am doing most of the work in the movie by putting it together. so far it has taken me three weeks time to develop the storyboard. and one whole day to create 1/4 of the first scene. there are over 25 scenes in the first movie alone. and there are three movies in the series. you do the math...

(p.s. if you want to set a better example as a more experienced flash author, you should at least check your grammar...)

(must have good skills in flash animation). if you are interested in joining or just want to comment, then please post below. if you want to find out more about the movie then please pm me and i will answer any questions that you have.

new flash movie idea. Posted October 31st, 2006 in Game Development

hey. my name is Foamy-2006. i wouldn't consider myself a newb since i don't act like one. but that's getting a little off topic. i need experienced artists at Flash MX. i have created a movie idea, but so far, my flash mx'ing sucks... if you can help me, or give me any pointers, then please contact me by posting in this thread ok?

ok, so, so far the movie in general is a stick movie. i have named the movie -Glitch: in the system-
the concept art is pretty simple so far, but i absolutely suck at flash, so if you can help out, please post.

sincerly: Foamy-2006

Story board for a stick movie Posted February 17th, 2006 in Game Development

Alright i got this great idea and storyboard for a stick movie but i suck at making flash animations (to put in short i'm using Flash MX and i still can't get a stick man to walk).

my animation story board has great music, awsome characters, awsome fight scenes, and tons of cool weapons.

If anyone can give me some advice then post.

if anyone would actually like to animate this movie then e-mail me a sample of your stick animation and i will rate it for the movie and e-mail you back with your results.
