That would go perfectly in the halloween art off

that's exactly what i thought, lol. he would have to recolor it gold though, and stick a raging alcoholic in somewhere behind him.

leave dimming the lights to me, i have an idea. picture slides to the middle of the screen and the background fades to the glowing eyes thing. this is never going to get done if you're trying to draw it and put it all together, just give me your ideas and i'll put them in. i'm working on an engine right now, it's just a blank preloader and the image changing buttons so far. i'll add a dim the lights thing now.

Response to: Dad 'n' me... Posted October 5th, 2009 in Art

try this.

woot, finally done. i'm still going to tweak it a bit, a few things are off. let me know if you have any ideas for improvements :)

perhaps i could do the coding end and he can do the art end. i can code a preloader and a few buttons in like 5 seconds so just give me the art, preloader, sidebars, buttons, etc and i'll put it all together.

Response to: Go Screw Yourself Art Collab Posted October 3rd, 2009 in Art

here's a WIP of the preloader, hope you guys like it. i'm working on the loading bar right now.

i know the cityscape tank backdrop is screwed up, i need a png of JUST the cityscape with no sky or tank.

Response to: The Samurai Art Collab thread Posted October 3rd, 2009 in Art

does it have to be a traditional japanese samurai? can it include modern and futuristic samurai, too?

i might make a submission for this, i'm not sure i've got enough samurai in me to do 4 submissions though O.o

i can do a flash slideshow, i don't want to take over as organizer though. i don't have enough experience with collabs to do it. if someone else who's been on the art forums longer wants to take over as the judge, i could put it all together.

Response to: robot workshop art collab Posted October 2nd, 2009 in Art

will this be submitted to the flash portal? i could code something for you if you need it (although i'm sure there are a trillion other people).

i might make a submission, it depends how bored i get with everything else.

all of the mods seem to be too busy locking threads to help people, so i'm gonna play it safe and just link it. here's my submissions, this may or may not be the final version. i'm not entirely satisfied with the right arm/hand and i might add some text saying "Screw Me!" or something.

you lazy mods still haven't answered my question :P is screw porn NSFW? i don't want to post an image, then get the post removed for being too graphic or whatever, but i don't want to just link to it and get my post removed for not including the picture :P

he needs to look kind of angry, and his face should be hairy. i forgot to mention that his eyes are robotic. he doesn't wear any clothes except a black bow tie. and his weapon is the onion that he's throwing. he regurgitates them.

this is one of my many joke characters, i've probably got about 30 of them. this is the most random one do i decided to use it. i have like 5 serious ones :)

you don't have to do anything on the fear of grapes part or anything, that was just some background information that i usually give. uncle money bags is his arch nemesis, and the unicycles and plane and everything are just a bunch of random stuff i thought of to make the picture interesting :)

it's looking good so far :)

it looks really flat, there's no depth at all. a picture as dark as that is hard to shade because it doesn't allow for much contrast, but the nose looks like a tattoo on the dude's face :\

That's what the link was for, copy and paste it into what your using and turn the transparency way down.

it was a google image search, not a tutorial on how to do it. that's what i'm asking for here.

I feel like they should be more like a silhouette, you've got that halo outline of them anyway, so try making the parts that you have gray into black, and have the shadows of the mountains be a dark grey, or black even, because the light is directly behind them.

meh, i've stopped messing with it for now. i'll probably get back to it when i'm done with my submission for the go screw yourself collab. thanks for the advice.

o.o? wow

the sasquatch is one of my DnD characters. he's a 28th level paladin with a morbid fear of grapes, though he often forgets because of his long and short term memory loss. although he doesn't like to talk about it, he lost the use of his eyes when someone dropped a silverware drawer on him from a third story window. luckily he was able to have his vision restored through a very complicated procedure involving several tons of raisin bran being injected directly into his vein, a lot of jumping jacks, and the ritual sacrifice of a virgin goat as a peace offering to Alan Rickman.

thanks for the tips, i see what you're saying about the road. i don't agree about the position of the sun, i'd like to have symmetrical shadows in this piece. although i did move it down some so that the shadows look correct. usually a desert road wouldn't be curving, it would have no need to. i think that would take away from the effect, anyway. it's supposed to seem very boring (i know, it's a weird thing to want in a painting), like it would take days to reach the end but at the same time, the surreality of it makes it interesting. i'll try to work on a heat haze, i think i know how to do it. that would definitely add to the feel. thanks for the tips. here's an updated version with the sun moved down.

Yeah with all those joints and such....
No normal human being has joints in his hand, he must have put it in a blender.

i'm not talking about the joints, i'm talking about the weird lump on his thumb and the really jagged lines. i know hands are hard to draw, but he could have put a little more work into making the lines straight. let's not start an argument about this, everyone is entitled to their opinions.
