I'm a construction worker. A while back we contracted mexicans from one of those mexican agencies that, for lack of a better word to use, 'rent' out their mexican workers. They worked for eighteen dollars an hour and did low quality work.
This is, however, just my personal experience with them.

Then why in the hell would you hire them? Nobody had a gun to your heads when making the documents and contract binding. And I don't know what type of agency you're talking about. One that rents Mexicans? I can't see how such a thing could occur since the Bracero Program doesn't exist anymore (at least, I think so), and Bush's plan was squashed very quickly before 9-11. And how would such an agency that rent out illegals be legit?

My assumption is that you went out looking for "pollitos" for cheap labor, but at the end, you got bit in the ass. But then again, I know nothing about the construction world...

Biologically, the period does make a woman's something difficult... but recently I've heard of drugs that would supress the period for three months, and then you have one giant one, or something like that.

Doesn't anybody else remember? It came on the news around during winter, and women were talking about it.

Didn't work... but I saw it. Hum... Due to the source where this image is coming from, I cannot accept it as valid (especially with Adobe pics going rampant nowaday) If it came from a news source, it would give it credibility.

But even if this was credible, you are only citing one picture of one event, and there is no caption or an article citing the circumstances of that event.

(Is that John Kerry? in the background?)

Anyways, but I know the injustices of men too... but they don't amount as much as what a woman faces. The two I can name right now is that women are usually the ones that get the children, and the home.

Otherwise, the feminists goal are to fix the inequality that still occurs today (while I've heard of a few that blames men as the root of evil).

Because of over 40% of false rape cases each year and the lives that are ruined because of it. Because of the tax dollars that went to my college to pay for posters that said "Rape is All Men's Fault." and posted in every bathroom on campus.

It's also interesting to note that even those feminists who claim to demand equality and no special rights would still carry the name "feminist". That would be like me starting up a group for equality between whites and blacks and calling it 'White Power'. Why can't they change the name to Individualism? Or Gender Equalizers?

Please don't bring up "Well, women were inequal not that long ago!" - it's not pertinent to this argument. Two wrongs don't make a right.

I, despite being a guy, am a feminist. I support womens' rights, and hope more will enter in politics, and hopefully there will be at least one woman president elected in my life time.

Feminism was concieved because of the unequal treatment by men. Their stuggle is to be equal to men. Not to be above them.

Now if you're against it and you're only argument is the false rape charges, then you have nothing to be against feminist movement. You're beef is with false rape charges. I think some things are messed up too... women are the one that get the kids and house after a divorce happens, etc... but then these are not things about the feminist movement. These are seperate injustices that should be fixed.

Response to: Gay marriage. Posted May 5th, 2004 in Politics

Ehh, in my high school, most people who were gay showed it in one or more of the stereotypical ways. However, I was a little shocked to learn that one of my friends (an outspoken conservative who made many gay jokes) was gay (though we all had a feeling =P)

You know, you would be suprised how many gay men look not like queer eye (which is a big turn off for me, btw) I've slept with more then a dozen women (all of them hotties) and when I was younger, I knew all the funniest gay jokes. When I was a kid, I beat another boy with my friends because we thought he was gay (although we didn't know what exactly the word "gay" meant, and only that if you were one, you had to be beaten up.)

And I read in JAMA a very long time ago about murders of gay people are aroused when shown homosexual material. So people who kill gays may be doing it to repress certain feelings, denying their own homosexual identity.

I am sure that there are a whole lot more people who are gay or bisexual out there but are in the closet.

If you see American Beauty, which is one of the best movies I've seen, has a gay basher who is gay himself.

WOW. Good job at stating another fucking stereotype.
Most gay couples I've seen and known are nothing like Carson from "Queer Eye" or fall under the stereotype. Some gays might show a little more affection towards eachother if it wasn't for anti-homosexual violence.

People wouldn't know I'm gay by looking at me, talking with me, or looking at my room. Every Friday I drink with my friends, play pool... My clothes are masculine... I play football, and wrestled when I was in high school.

The only thing queer eye about me is that I like theater... other then that, I'm really low on the gaydar...

Gives way too much power to a government. I'm going to tell you something people. I work in a bank, as a bank teller. About a year ago, I signed a paper saying that if I find "weird" transactions, or "weird" behavior, or "weird" anything... report it. There is a huge list of what to consider, and within last year alone I had to report about more people then the fingers on my hands. Before that, I only reported probably once.

Now all those reports I done because I was forced to. I cannot tell anything personal about them, or the rules that I must enforce or else face certain penalties. But I am going to say this, these transactions were deemed normal before this act, and I had to report more then 10 people last year whose names may very well be in some file.

I wish I could say more, but personally knowing this experiance, I am very much against the "unpatriot" act.

It's funny how the government loves to give cute and positive names to rather terrible things. What was that favorite flash of mine by Sam T... George Bush Show... He was making fun of this point by having George make a "No Tree Left Behind Act". Hilarious!

I could rant a bit more, and a bit more coherently if it wasn't so damn late. Wanted to post it while I had the idea in my head.

Perhaps it is because Hollywood is still a bit racist, and the people you see on the silver screen are mostly white. Most of the stars I see are pretty much European in appearance. I declined for the reason that I've done bigger and better things such as Macbeth and Hamlet, have tons of acting experiance not only in classical plays, but in more modern ones. I will not due just a "simple" part that perpetuates a bad image on Latinos. I myself am a type D.

I see myself as a type C. This is an important issue because it directly affects the lives of women.

When a woman wants an abortion, she is most likely going to get it despite the circumstances of the law. If it was my mother or sister, I would certainly would not have them go some kind of stranger and have a clothes hanger shoved in their womb, and higly likely die of hemmorage, infection, etc. Yeah, I don't like abortion at all, it's an ugly thing to see a fetus head, but it is something necessary. But I would rather have my mother or sister go to a sane clinc then have them do it in other places.

The abortion battle isn't stupid. It's important, and rather insulting to a few women to down grade this struggle with others such as the Iraqi War.
