Parents?
live miles from the university I live in and they don't have the keys to this house.
Friend to bring you food?
everyone I know of since I attended this place less than a year either has a class or a job and can't get here that fast because they don't have a car. and the bus is pretty unreliable here.
Man, thsi is easy stuff man. I think it's pretty much a fake situation.
How is it not believable? It used to happen to me a couple of times when I went to high school, but those times I could actually do the above things you mentioned.
-the last thing I want to do is break a window. I'd rather wait another couple of hours before doing that
-un-screwing the knob is a good idea...If I wasn't outside of the actual house. The bolts are inside genius
Well I just came home from a long day of school, and realized I left my keys in the house. All the doors are locked except the one that goes to the garage. I brought my laptop because I needed it for note taking during lecture, and I'm happy I made this decision so I won't be bored out of my mind while I sit here.
Now...is there any way I can get inside without breaking anything? No one's home except for my dog, who's scared shitless whenever someone's walking outside of the glass door (So there's no way he could unlock any deadbolts).
TL;DR: stuck in house, how do I get in?
soooo hungry...haven't eaten all day. All I found was this shitty energy drink that's been collecting dust for god knows how long in the garage)
here's a quick layout of the current situation:
And why dont men have a pee hole and an ejaculation hole?
because women don't have an ejaculation hole

1. I've never really got used to the touch pad on most laptops. There are alternatives such as plugging in a USB mouse but that defeats the purpose. Anyone got any experience using those laptop "nipples" in the middle of the keyboard? Are they pretty good for games? (We're talking about games that don't use mice like FPS games). Is there anything better than the nipple?
I don't suggest getting one with that nipple thing. I have my standard mousepad with two buttons and a scroll thing and I don't know anything better than that.
2. Most laptops have Microsoft Windows Vista installed and I'm not a fan of Vista. Although Vista has improved since it first came out how is it for games? It's worth noting I am playing older pre vista games (some games that were made before dual core CPUs and they have trouble on my current PC with XP) Would it be worth installing XP onto the laptop or should I wait for Windows 7? I don't exactly have a spare XP disc so that would mean buying another license (I'm not going AHOY MATEY before you bring that up). Also do pre installed laptops come with the OS disc? I do tend to format computers at least once a year and most computer stores assume people have no idea how to format a computer.
My laptop came with vista. I enjoyed it for a while, but just recently switched to xp 64 (DONT INSTALL XP 64; it may run faster but it fucks up all your game textures)
3. How much should I spend for a decent laptop that'll do the job? Most laptops I've seen cost up to £400 and I built my PC which is much more powerful for that price. Any particular brands to go for or avoid?
HP gives out pretty affordable laptops and they can play a decent amount of games. I play counterstrike on my Pavilion when I'm on the road. don't buy from toshiba
4. Is there anything else I should know? As I said I know what specifications to look for.
end any processes that are taking up too much cpu while your video card's making too much noise. If you keep it going for too long, it might completely fry your cooler, in which case you have to send it in (they'll whipe everything and install the OS you got when you bought your laptop)
I downloaded that game...played the first screen, didn't make sense, gave up.

the sketchiness of the horse actually works pretty well. it implies movement. the only problem is the head is kinda big
it's pretty bad so it doesn't deserve its own thread. I guess it's ok for the doodlage thread though.

The best class to krits uber is a demo while you're on the defending side and blu is rushing in. One sticky can easily clear 2-3 enemies at once.
$5? no way. You don't even have your anatomy down.
whoring yourself out to become an artist is a wrong first step.

well here's the last thing i did. I start with a sketch, go over it with black and just toss the sketch. In this pic, all I have is the skin to work with. So I go choose a color that matches to human skin (can get quite difficult so maybe search in google for pre chosen swatches) and I fill it in the outline of the second layer. Choose a darker shade/s (if you want more detail), highlights and figure out your light source...I dunno...there's a lot of techniques you can use, but this is the way I do it.
In Japan, they're rippin on the 360 so it all balances out.
usually I work with two layers in flash. One is the outline (locked) and under it is a copy of the outline which I fill with a base color. Then you have to figure out how many tones you need and where the light source is coming from.
Alright, I'll give a suggestion. I read the above ideas and I think they're pretty good, but here's how I want to see the request thread:
1) Start with the rules: Post requests only, everything else will be deleted; All projects must have a pay, or something worthwhile for the artists
2) I like the idea of the template, so I'll give you my opinion of how it should be structured. The request needs to have only a link to the homepage that shows the project description and the pay. So here's what I think all the posts should look like:
-$10
I don't even want to see any "sup gais, here's my reuqest"
This is basically a job for freelance artists, so it should be taken a little seriously (that doesn't mean the project shouldn't be fun, but the application should be). The reason the current request thread isn't working is because people keep spamming garbage and it's hard to find actual requests.
3) Any discussion about this thread should go into the lounge, so provide a link.
4) Finally, use an alt to post the first post that shows the ideal request post, a working link to the project details, and a well structured description of the project (maybe this could be an actual project)
DOD?
day of defeat. They have the basic class you designed except i think one of his fists is clenching a hand knife.
the sketchiness works in some areas, but overall...it's too distracting.
also, I'm a tf2 fanatic, and I don't really like the concept. That's the basic class in DoD and the developers didn't want the game to be so serious.
you don't have the rights to call something official. By the end of the day, this thing will be way in the back of the forums.
unless people like me bump this thread
charcoal is a great tool. You can cover a lot of area in little time once you figured out what you can do with it. I think what you're doing is just using the charcoal as a thick tool for crosshatching. I, on the other hand, smudge my whole canvas so I can get a good tone going before I go into more detail.
starting out with a face isn't a great idea. Do some still life to get used to this stuff
holy jesus, I thought squeaky just gave up on this thing
I think the request thread should be locked and re-made. People are clearly not following the regulations, so maybe the new thread should be structured differently.
like the request account, I don't even get wtf that thing's for
I'm sick of these iPods, iPhones iCocksndicks...they're all square and unoriginal. If you like industrial design, create something interesting and new. People don't like the same old recycled ideas.
Start by thinking what the future might bring. I'm thinking of iPods that you just plug straight into your brain. Design that!
