It's on the BBC lunchtime news here, as well as a big discussion on piracy. Apparently there are calls for some kind of international governments organization specifically targeting piracy. This could be the beginning of the end for downloading music.

What a great idea! suppose I've been around here long enough to know a few things about the BBS, so I'll stick my neck out and say I'll adopt a noob.

If you just signed up, or you just started posting around here, why not drop me a PM and I'll answer any questions you may have about the people, customs, or rules of the BBS. Or if I can't, I'll refer you to someone who can.

Lookin' forward to hearing from you.

Cyber Emergency? There's no such thing!

An emergency can't occur on the internet any more than it can on a phone line, because when it comes down to basics that's all the internet is: a means of communication. This is a stupid idea and i hope it never gets through, because if the US does it, how long until the rest of the world's governments consider interfering in the internet?

Wait...why did I just do that?

That was what went through my mind this morning after I bought my friend's mobile off him for £40. He said he no longer had any use for it, and needed the cash badly for some reason, and was selling it cheap compared to what it cost to buy.

Long story short I bought it out of sympathy for the poor guy and now I have two phones. I have my old phone which I use a lot, but it's a bit crap. It can call and text, that's about it, and I have a phone that does all the music/video/stills stuff I don't need.

I really do not know what the fuck I'm supposed to do with two phones. Any suggestions from you guys? And no I'm not selling any of them because I'm a hoarder.

and yes, yes I have tried calling myself and having a conversation on both phones.

Actually, time isn't a physical thing, it never officially "started" and it will never end. Nothing started it, nothing will end it. It's just there.

The problem is that with an infinite amount of time before the present time right now, you could never be here.

Don't wuite understand what you're trying to say there, explain please?

An infinite amount of time cannot pass, thus there was no beginning, thus you could not wait to be born, it would not happen, you would be waiting to be born for eternity.

See above.

I think they sent the number of ships they did as a show of force, as if to say "Don't fuck with the USA, or we'll fuck your shit up."

Or maybe it was for logistical reasons, ie; stop the subject ship from escaping by surrounding it.

Current events covered on the news would be talked about I suppose, but not many threads can be made about them yelling "THIS HAPPENED! DISCUSS!".

Really only one or two can be made discussing different aspects of the event, which would create a slow trickle of "lifeblood", but really that small an amount would be little more than an "illusion of life".

Topic: Why do we rehash old subjects?

Posted: 04/12/09 09:05 PM

Forum: General

My theory:

The BBS has reached the end of it's creative life, if we call original subjects the "lifeblood" of the BBS. Consider how long the forums have been around for, since 200-ish? That's almost a decade.

Eventually we'll have covered most of the subjects we can, after talking non-stop for nine years, and we start to repeat ourselves. Look up any topic you're made in the searchbar and I can pretty much guarantee it's been made before.

Actually correct that, the BBS is reaching the end of it's life. We're not quite out of subjects yet, but it's getting harder and harder to think of something original to say.
