Foreword: Believe me, I thought about this long and hard, but I'm only going to post short answers. If you need more elaboration PM me and I'll get back to you ASAP.
The questions:
(1) What happens to the consciousness of a person who dies?
I believe it dies with them, as I don't think that the "consciousness" of a person is anything more than data contained within the brain. Brain dies, it dies.
(2) What should the goal be for all beings?
I believe that goals one should have in life are many, and what those goals are is something that's different for all individuals. One common goal I believe we should have is to be amicable with as many people as possible, and not to antagonize those who don't like us.
(3) Where did the Universe come from?
I'm a believer in the big bang theory, but as for before that I believe there were several universes before this one, and that the material that made up the tiny pinprick that exploded is energy from the previous universe.
Before that? The original? A complete accident, something happened to create energy, but I don't know what.
