I think play is the simplest word we can use.
for a transition, try doing something similar to my transition from one titan walking his dog to the next, if you can't think of anything else
I'm not saying it's hard to understand what the word 'play' means, just that my eyes aren't drawn to the play button as they should be, which Is why im suggesting you make the play text glow red or something.
His tghis, possibly, they might be a tad chubby, will see how it looks when there'll be all the characters and tweek that if i've got enough time.
Oh as for the transitions, i do have an idea how to work that out, but i'd need at least another 2 weeks to complete all my stuff by animating a camera movement. However, time is of the essence and so is file size, so the more artwork and animation i load into this collab, the more you're going to complain on how big my stuff is (no pun intended) :P
a transition really shouldn't take that much time. if you'll need another 2 weeks, I'll just work out transitions in-menu when I'm assembling the collab (if I am assembling it; I don't mean to offend, forbid just said I was)

Hive Fleet - Score 200 points on the Pac-Nid Game - 5 pts
make the point value harder. you get over 200 in order to beat it once. make this like, 400.
Ork Toof - Find the 'Ork Toof' Easter Egg - 5 pts
for something like this, it would be funnier if it was like 'click the dick' and you clicked someones crotch area or a hidden penis-looking thing somewhere. this is NG, remember.
Catalepsean Node - Watch the collab through from start until finish in one sitting - 10 pts
Secret - This is a secret medal, keep searching to find it - 5 pts (Visit every page of the collab)
make a better name for the secrets than contain a very vague clue
Sternguard Veteran - Click on every space marine weapon in the throughout the collab - 10 pts
( see above edits to original)
Grot Oiler - Find all the missing oil cans that careless grot left lieing around! (click on them to retrieve them) 5 in total- 5 pts
how can we program something like this? a scavenger hunt, I worry, will deter from the movie.
Secret - This is a secret medal, keep searching to find it- 10 pts (Find all secrets and obtain all medals)
(see above)
Anyone wish to give critism etc?
Don is this more what you had in mind?
(btw the grot oiler thing, Il make some oil cans we can leave around people's animations in hidy spots.

In the original; pacman, the ghosts don't chase you. they just have a logical pattern of movement to them loosely based on where you are that 60% of the time makes it seem like they're after you. I'll talk to north and see If there's anything he can do.
the visuals are very nice however it's also very small and it took me some time to work out where my character was (probs just me being a 'tard)
It is impossible to fix this unless you want fucked up collisions and/or a tiny tiny level :P
Also I know it's extra work and just a suggestion if there is any extra time, but what if u made the nid more like pacman, actually moving animated mouth chomping on them planets. Just some thoughts, my piece is coming along.
extra work for both the programmer and the animator, but I think that's plausible. I'll do a littl animating and send him the idea soon
no easter egg may be placed at the end of the game, because the game loops and the score keeps going up. this design was intentional to keep anyone entertained for however long it takes that damn preloader.
everyhting is done, the preloader scren is done.

ok, I've begun to layout our time remaining in phases:
June 20th - 28th:
Artists:
make all or at least many of the tweaks I recommended for your parts before. on the 28th, everyone will hand their fla's in, and if tweaks haven't been made, I WILL DO THEM FOR YOU. the recommendations are critical to the quality of the collab as a whole, so it is nescacary for at least some of them to be carried out.
June 20th - 27th:
Artists:
If you are working on a part not yet complete, seen, and reviewed for changes, you must complete it at the very latest, the 27th, so that the other members may make recommendations to improve the piece, and that you will have time to make the changes before submission
June 20th - 22nd:
the preloader screen and game will be completed.
June 20th - 28th
Bomblu:
the menu must be completed by the 28th
June 28th/9th - July 1st (morning)
I, with the help of Forbid and Bomblu, will assemble the collab, including making the credits, and making objects in your pieces easter eggs.
HOPEFULLY (but not at this rate of posting)
July 1st (afternoon)
SUBMISSION
8 DAYS LEFT
jeez, I know pawn went on vacation, but where are the rest of you guys?
anyway, here's my update:
the preloader screen is nearly finished; it will fashion a knock off pacman game of a tyranid fleet moving through the warp eating planets whilst being chased by space marines.
At 6/19/09 09:24 PM, CrabPope wrote: whoops
looks great! I'm American, but also only 16, so I doubt my voice is wanted. pawn has done a lot of VAing for the collab, and I'm worried the voices will start to become to consistent, if he does or re-does anymore. (though, don't get me wrong, ofcrouse I'm more than greatful for all of the help he's given us thus far)
Hey considering I was defending you, you have permission to STFU
woah woah woah waoh.... not the time to start some shit.
anyway, update people: 9 DAYS LEFT! MOVE YOUR ASSES!
well, anyway, I suppose I'll show my update to the accumilating tumble weeds:
now, balls of sun dried grass, this probably isn't finished, I may add more to it, but it could be done. not sure.
wow, for a crunch time phase in a collab, there sure is a colossal lack of activity on this thread/
At 6/18/09 07:45 PM, GuassMan wrote: It'll increase the replay value?? of the submission but you just gotta state that there is an easter egg and make it easy to find...
let's not make it too easy to find
anyway I can't stress enough that this is truly the end, and you all need to start working your asses off.
to raise morale, I have gotten deep into my next and final part, titanicus:
alright, I'll drop the email thing because though REALLY fishy, it's irrelevant to the collab.
sorry micky :(
anyway, back to work, back to work you lot. 10 days left! this is CRUNCH TIME!
At 6/18/09 04:26 PM, micky315 wrote: i know of no one called micky bruce. i dont even know your email.
how is ti possible that the email addressed my NG name, and newgrounds than? just coincidentally after I posted my email on this thread, and the senders first name is 'micky'?
I would like to believe you didn't do it, so please show me how I can be certain of it.
Micky, it would appear you have used my email account to send me spam mail.
I just received a mail, with the subject: "idea for[flashbound18.newgrounds.com],%u200F" sent by "Micky Bruce" containing an advertisement about finding 'my website' easily via google.
I would like to think this wasn't intentional, that some form of obscure mistake has occurred.
If so, I have no hard feelings towards you at all. If you did intentionally cause this however, and I mean, only if you meant for this to happen, you are a complete idiot for not thinking I would find out
that is all.

yes, easter eggs will be a good use I suppose
I hope your CPU calms down

wow that looks great! please please please get it done and uploaded!
update on my front:
I'm quite proud of my current style, and after having a great deal of trouble with my power thirst esqu animation, have decided to drop all parts save for the recent 'terminator' and 'power sword' parts, as well as my first part, 'compensating.' before we wrap this up, I will make one more part about titans. I think it will be better if my style is consistent in the collab, and since I like the style constant in the movies I've picked to keep, I have chosen them over the others.
At 6/17/09 02:12 AM, BoMbLu wrote: Popped in before i leave for work :) Now that FB18's animation's ready, shall we compile some animations and send them to Tom Fulp for the giving of medals? It's been quite a while since he pm'd me, dont want him to think the collab broke down :P
not quite yet. they're complaining of audio quality for mine, I'll try to fix that today though.
Also, apologies for not being too active lately, but recently i'm at wortk for 6 to 10 hrs, which doesnt give me too much time to come onto the forums and post (even though i read the stuff at work :3) Though i'm making some progress with i kissed a spawn :)
good, good :)
Also, if you think the sound isnt too good for IKAS, Pawn007, you can try out singing it for me as i think your mic and voice acting skills are better than mine, way better :P
I think it is perfect, I appreciate pawns help, but we need some variety in voices. we can't have every part VAed by the same person.
At 6/16/09 09:20 PM, micky315 wrote: ill get on your suggestions right away and what sound should i use for the clip?
I'll help you out, don't worry. like I said, just get the animating done.
At 6/16/09 07:08 PM, RedHarvest wrote: dude...flashbound...dont u think it will be really wierd if rite in the middle of the collab there is a part with like no sound in it? (in regards to mickeys part//)haha.....i mean it could be anything..gunfire...music...voices....wh atever
of course he'll have sound. I'm trying to help get the animation aspect of his film carried away first, however. the sounds he uses are entirely dependent on what happens in his movie
though props, you have a funny way of pointing things out mate.
At 6/16/09 06:39 PM, micky315 wrote: the voices, the space marine in particular but they both need work
that's a creative difference 'm going to choose to ignore. thank you for the criticism, but I'm satisfied with the voice acting; the recording quality is my only problem. I'll re record the space marine part to reduce clicks and pops and make him easier to understand, as well as add subs. but that's all concerning sound.
sorry for double post but how do you like my part? suggestions?
It's better; just a couple more things:
-make his expression still angry as he walks away shaking his head
-when he pauses, there are several color holes in the artwork. please refine that frame, it's a little sloppy.
I think the background would be much better if you eliminated outlines all together. do so by painting with 'don't fill gaps' selected, the lines the color of the neighboring fills.

AS3, sorry for that bit.
thanks for the reply!
hello
I am the collab organizer for 'the warhammer 40k collab,' and we are beginning to think the preloader will yield an excessively long wait time. thus, we need a game at the beginning.
me and the other organizer have decided on a one level pacman game that would reset after all of the balls are eaten, yet the score keeps going until the player loses.
we just need a very basic functioning template, from which I will edit to meet our theme.
unfortunately we cannot pay, but the programmer will be featured in the credits, and 'programmed by' will be at the bottom right hand corner of the preloader screen, linking to the programmers page.
thank you

as long as you can finish a part by June 28th (that should give us enough time to put it all together by July 1st)
seriously guys, the time is running out. technically you have 15 days left, but the sooner the better, so get working!
anyway, I finished the part.
I can understand the dialogue, but please tell me if you have any problems. I can add subs, but it will be a bitch.
voice acting for the part is complete to nearly complete, and I'm syncing right now. it won't be long. school finished today, hopefully I'll finish it tomorrow.
yes, there really isn't any sense in trying to reinvent the traditional order of things. a collab we've been working on shouldn't take a big risk like this involving the credits
(my opinion)
why is this even a debate? yes, I allowed it to be debated, but why is it being debated? why try to tread on new ground where it is only risky, and otherwise is irrelevant?
At 6/14/09 07:32 PM, ForbidMetal wrote:At 6/14/09 06:58 PM, GuassMan wrote: Cant you just make the credits and the song in the preloader??I Like this man's thinking! That's never been done before, dunno how long it'd take just to load the pre loader though.., we'd have to try it out
I disagree. the primary function of a newgrounds collab credits sequence is to show the viewer who made what. that's why it comes after the parts they've watched. It is my opinion bomblu, if possible, should finish the song and have the credits roll after the animation he's done.
