Also, a preloader won't solve your problem; it's only to make sure there are no breaks (when it's streaming data normally) and thus solves it by streaming the content and playing only when it's fully streamed.

If the preloader has a problem and you're sure it's a preloader problem, then grab Newgrounds' preloaders at newgrounds.com/download/preloaders/ and modify it to your liking.

So should I try to remove things that are offscreen?
I could easily place the whole animation in a movie clip and apply a mask over it, to remove the objects offscreen. Would that help? thanks.

Hey forum. I have recently finished a 60-second Flash animation, in the style of an anime opening, that goes with a music track. After I finished it I exported it to check it out, and there is an incredible amount of slowdown in the animation. The audio plays at a normal pace, but when too much happens at once on screen, the animation will slow down and play at a much slower speed.

I knew that to fix a problem like this, the best thing to do would be to add a preloader, so I downloaded the standard one from Newgrounds and found that it didn't work at all. When viewing my exported product with the preloader in a scene beforehand, the animation loaded instantly (which I found strange) and encountered the exact same problems as before, with no change whatsoever.

I've tried a lot of things to try and fix this problem, such as removing the audio completely, and even exporting the animation as a .mov file, but nothing makes a difference.

I'm struggling to find a solution and was wondering if anybody could help.

The flash is of pretty high quality animation, and focuses on the use of movie clips, sometimes movie clips within those movie clips (pretty complicated :/).

The FLA is 148 MB large,
The SWF is only 2 MB large.
The frame rate is 24 FPS.

Can anybody help me?
