I play piano for 3-4 years now so i know the very basics of music, however i never touched a stringed instrument before.
Isn't piano a stringed instrument?
Well yes but you don't hold the snares and use frets, stuff like that. Piano is basically just pushing a key--- why am i explaining this. =D
The pawn shop would be an great idea, if i would know what i am looking for. I'm not experienced with any guitars. So i rather start with something basic, and apperently something worth your money. I heard alot of comments on this particular and it sounds like an allrounder. Some people slap too it aswell on youtube if im not mistaken. Anyways, you also need alot of luck if it comes to pawn shops. And it won't be in perfect shape like a store would. Then again, it's price is lower obviously.
I still stick with my plan. I'll go to either my local music store or THE music store because that's the biggest music store in europe. I can ask there around, perhaps test them out and judge from there on. If i can't find a good one there, then i simply won't find it anywhere. I will be aiming for the Jazz Bass Affinity from Squire though. Just because XP.
Note to that other guy. Yes i heard using a pick does give a much clearer sound and sharper. However ,i'm not really aiming for that. I also heard different oppinions of to start with pick or without. My geuss is, if i want to end up with slapbass and funk etc, i can better use my hands. Then again, i have no clue. That's why i'm asking you guys yay!
I all things go well, i'm going to pick it up this saturday. I'll try to post my first thoughts. I hope you can help me afterwards aswell :D. Where to start and how.
I already know how to read tabs, so i geuss that's a good thing. Should i consider lessons though? Or stick to self study?
