You mean that green paper that people accept for goods that have actual value?

You do know that little piece of sheep's wool woven into a sheet isn't actually backed by gold, nor by silver, nor by any metal, nor by any physical object of any worth at all, right? You do know that the only thing that gives the dollar a value is an intangible and immeasurable "confidence" in the American government, right?

They should've renamed the film SISTERHOOD OF THE ARMCHAIR & BEERGUT INTELLECTUALS.

Because the kind of dull pseudo-deep bullshit they spewed from the first minute to the last was just enough to piss me off more than the late Ledger's ridiculously overwrought and formulaic performance that was overplayed by a thousandfold in television ads, to say nothing of on the screen itself.

The thing that pisses me off about this economic crisis is that the money that's supposedly being lost is all theoretical money. None of it actually exists beyond the fact that the government says it exists.

So why can't we just theoretically inject our theoretical economy with theoretical money and be done with it?

It looked decent back then, combining nicely with Newgrounds's contemporary theme. Although by today's standards the site would be a bit outdated.

Hey Faggots,

My name is Vince, and I hate every single one of you. All of you are fat, retarded, no-lifes who spend every second of their day spilling cola under carpets. You are everything bad in the world. Honestly, have any of you ever cut it in half and dried ya dishes? I mean, I guess it's fun making things in Germany; you know they always make great stuff, but you all take it to a whole new level. This is even worse than spending $20 a month on paper towels anyway.

Don't be a stranger. Just hit me with your best shot. You followin' me, camera guy? I'm pretty much perfect. I was captain of the Olympic diving team, and I use it as a towel. What sports do you play, other than "Put a wet sweater, roll it up, it dries your sweaters?" I also get straight A's, and have a banging hot girlfriend (She just absorbed me; Shit was SO cash). You are all faggots who should just call the number at the bottom of the screen. Thanks for listening. You'll be sayin' "Wow!" every time!

Plainly put, unless it was an exclusive program designed or produced by apple, or is aimed to manipulate a mac's hardware (i don't think any programs exist for this purpose), any program will most definitely be ported for windows. And the exclusive mac programs will always have function-equivalent knockoffs, the only downside being that you lose your spiffy apple interface.

Clearly, you have never had the need for Final Cut Pro, then. I, on the other hand, extensively make use of the software, and know beyond reasonable doubt that no windows equivalent exists that can give me the same level of editing capability, and I have indeed tried Adobe Premiere.

There are many mannerisms of the Mac that allow me to increase my own productivity, and this definitely includes the fact that antiviral programs are completely unnecessary on the Mac as long as you run OSX.

The point of running Boot Camp and Parallels on the Mac is to wean you off of Windows' programs. Essentially, its a stopgap measure, a temporary half-step. Because of Apple's increasing market share, the availability of programs for the Mac is in all major categories becoming a smaller gap. You run Windows for the few programs that don't yet have a Mac equivalent -- and having used Macs for two decades, now, I can say with certainty that I'm hard-pressed these days to find a program I need that doesn't have an equivalent version for the Mac.

I would much rather be able to run the snappy, small-footprinted OSX than the large and sluggish footprint that characterizes Windows Vista, and even XP, in comparison. It's not hard to figure this out; when the few programs you need that only have Windows versions come out for the Mac, which occurs with more rapidity than ever before, you ditch XP or Vista, and complete the migration to the Mac, whereby the better interface and performance improves your experience.

Are you running Leopard? The early versions of Leopard have been the OS floating around the news in connection with the Mac BSOD's. Apple has even refused to call it a BSOD.

http://mac.blorge.com/2008/12/17/newest-

Yeah, I've been running Leopard since its first release. I can honestly not find any fault with how it has run in the year and a half since I bought it. I've never had a Mac equivalent of BSOD, nor do I know anybody who has ever experienced one. My guess is you would have to seriously disturb the way the computer runs in order to prompt one -- like fucking around in terminal, and not know what you're doing etc.

To be fair, though, it has been eight years since you bought the computer, and it wasn't the fault of Apple that the computer broke if it was able to stay intact for such a long time. The point of the warrantee is to have the manufacturer correct any mistakes that might have been made in the creation process, not to send in your shit when it gets old, and expect a replacement free of charge, or a refund.
It was in 2001 when I made the claim, only a year after I bought it. I should have specified although as a Mac user, you should know Applecare doesn't last any longer than 3 years.

Well, I don't know what to tell you other than the fact that this happened a long time ago, and since I've owned Apple products, I've never had an experience other than satisfactory or excellent with Apple's customer service, especially when it comes to iPods. Having read Apple's warrantee policy, it also appears that "the warrantee does not apply...to cosmetic damage, including, but not limited to scratches, dents, and broken plastic on ports that does not otherwise effect the product's functionality or materially impair your use."

I had no idea what kind of coverage Applecare provides -- I don't ever buy the extended warrantee when it comes to Apple's products, because I've never needed one before, and don't foresee the need arising judging from past experiences.

If there's a problem with the hardware, I'm confident I can diagnose it within sixty days, and send it back to Apple for replacement.

At 12/21/08 02:58 AM, zedd56 wrote: Don't emulate windows, fucking buy a pc. It costs less anyway.

But with a Mac, I can run Windows natively and PARALLEL to Mac OSX and Linux, and thus eliminate ANY POSSIBLE COMPUTER COMPATIBILITY PROBLEMS that might arise.

This is very simple. What's not to understand? One fell swoop knocks out all the problems at once.

I was extremely unsatisfied when I bought the .0 relese of Panther (X.3) as it was about as buggy as a beta. A friend of mine lost ALL of his documents in the home folder when he enabled file vault and his machine froze which caused him to do a hard reboot. Apple also refused to honor their extended warranty when my year 2000 iMac case cracked up the side and they discounted it as wear and tear.

Yeah, especially considering that Macs are the computers that almost all creative professionals in the industry use, because there are certain very highly-regarded media programs (industry-standard, in fact) that are unparalleled in PCs, ie Final Cut Pro and Shake.

Also, considering that Photoshop was originally a Mac-exclusive product, before it was ported to Windows in the mid 1990s.

And that Macs have the capability of running Windows alongside OSX, which means any program ever created for the XP, Vista, OSX, or Linux can run seamlessly on a Mac, with little to no loss in performance. Why even buy a PC, frankly, when you can get the best of both worlds and a sip of Linux in one package?

Jesus God! if you really believe that Windows users don't use their OS as a wedge issue and source of unjustified pride in the same way that Mac users do, you seriously do NOT know the Newgrounds BBS very well.

And just how does "pencil-necked" equate to "identifying their egos with their OSes"? Generally, pencil-necked means nerdy, which is a stereotype associated more closely with PCs than Macs.
