So I go on these forums (somewhat less than i used to) and tend to go to the political forum more than the general, I noticed after Michel More(sp?)'s film about Public healthcare a few threads were put up backing his opinion.
I live in Britain, and am certainly for our NHS (National Health Service), and the majority of America must be against it, because it's a democracy. An argument that pops up is: "Hey, I can pay my health insurance, and I don't want to spend my money to keep the poor people in shape."
But if that is how you feel about health insurance, why not go all the way with that idea? It seems a tad strange to be sitting halfway. How about you pay for your fire insurance, if you have a fire, aslong as you have insurance you can get sorted out. Why should your tax money go on paying for those people how can't afford fire insurance in the first place, It's your money.
And to a lesser extent, police insurance. That one would be a lot harder to sort out, but in essence the argument is the same. Your money goes into protecting yourself, and those people who couldn't afford it. Why should you go paying your money to help out people you don't even know?
What do you think?
