The problem with videogame violence, is that it is so easy for a kid to shoot a cop, and when he gets caught, scream "GTA made me do it!!!!!11!!!"

Out of the ghetto, with the grime, violence, hate, and horrible lifestyle.
Into the desert with the sand, violence, hate and horrible lifestyle.
Not seeing any positives here, Maus.....
At least in the ghetto you can speak the same language as the guy shooting at you.

Pearl Harbor was diffrent. Everyone agrees on what happened there. On the Trade Center: not so.

As for the fetus issue, just think, If you were working on something on your computer, and a random person just walked up, deleted it, and proceeded to write his Med school thesis paper using the disk space he just freed by deleting your work. Sure, the paper may save people, but wasn't your work important too?

If it would cure cancer, and the person was willing, I would kill them in a heartbeat.

Response to: Man's greatest ally and enemy Posted June 23rd, 2005 in Politics

All of man's problems can be reduced down to the problem that we exist......
Why is this so hard to realise?

I hate the 2-party system. It is screwed up beyond reason....

Man's greatest ally and enemy Posted June 23rd, 2005 in Politics

In a previous thread, these facts were established: Man's greatest enemy is his own existence. Short of genocide, there is no solution to this problem. Also there is no practical way to reduce the risks posed by this enemy. However, our existence is also our greatest ally. The only way to deal with the problem is just to either cope with it, or attempt to use our ally's strengths to fight our enemy's harmul factors. Does anyone have any input on how this can be done?

If nintendo continues this, the Revoulution will be their second to last console. Also, depending on the PSP's long term success, the Game Boy could be looking at only 4 more hardware versions.....

Response to: Godzenteit Posted June 23rd, 2005 in Politics

Good point, but it doesn't matter. We shoud just remember to stick to proveable truths. Plus, this thread has now entered an eternal loop. We could argue this to the end of time, and never convince the other person. I vote we pursue some other philisophical thread now. Possibly discussing ways to balance our greatest ally and enemy?

Creationists believe that all early mans are mislabled apes, humans, or hoaxes. Many have been proven to be such.

Also, don't most birds adapt their environments?

We can stand now. We have steel axes now. Also, historians say the axe was invented by homo sapien during the stone age. Also, it is hard to prove homo erectus was the first to stand.

Look, the parties are screwed anyway. There is no real Right Wing left anymore. The Republican party is a groupe of moderates. I am conservative, and dislike O'Reilly. He allows for too much hypocracy. Hannity will at least tell the liberals he will let them talk, then he does let them. Savage insults anyone and everyone. O'Reilly claims to support free speech, but still flames liberals. I think O'Reilly should have his show pulled.

Response to: Godzenteit Posted June 22nd, 2005 in Politics

It is believed by many scientists that Neandrethal man was simply another race of homo sapien.

Why do we need to study percursers? They had no great civilizations, no great technologies, and there is nothing we can learn from them. Plus, that falls also into history, which should only be taught from the beginning of recorded time. Not neccecaarily the Bible, which has been scientifically proven to be the oldest consistent book, but start with what we have discovered. There is very little in modern history textbooks I disagree with, but aincent history should be merely touched on.

As for teaching the Bible, why not just teach it as a piece of literature, alongside other major philisophical or religious books?

Response to: Godzenteit Posted June 22nd, 2005 in Politics

Evolution is no more important in any field, than knowing what brand of shoes you have when trying to tie the laces.

The debate has left the original point. We established on the basis of logic that no origin theory can be adequately proven to be truth, and since we agreed that only truth should be taught, origins should not be taught in public schools at all. All that needs to be taught are the facts of existence, which cannot totally be proven either, yet is more logically sound with any set of given facts.
