It depends on how you animate.
For example, if you made an action scene and animated every frame to what it would really be, you'd use 24. Alternately, if you didn't make everything real and instead used leaf tracings and motion blurs, you'd use 12.

Take any videogame character and do something to modify or just plain screw him up! Be creative, not just " LOLOLOL! OMFG LOOK, I PUT A PENIS ON HSI HEDD!". No MS Paint, cause someones gonna either put "I made them look gay" or "Why is there a cock in the upper-right hand corner?"..... oh wait! This isn't general, my bad, go ahead and use paint!
