Ok, sorry man, but I can't help but notice how you design the faces, remember, it's important that you use a proper layout to organize, before you start to get into detail, it takes no time. Just start with a circle, and make to intersecting lines, move and bend them to where your face will be turning. The vertical line will always start in the middle because if not the face would be in-symetrical, however the bottom line may be moved wherever you like, because it determines the jaw-line. Next, apply the eyes ABOVE the jaw line, the nose which will be in the middle, and the mouth which will be lower than the jaw line. Remember, the direct of the nose determines where the face is pointing, NO MATTER WHAT.

Looks awesome and awesome description! Well, except the last part.... pretty disturbing....

Okay, here he is.

Acann - Once a healer of mankind, he was exiled because of claimmed witchcraft, he was never aloud back into civilization and if he failed to obey he would be dealt with in the fullest extent. Previously, he used his lower body to send out a soul-born energy that would be absorbed by the person he was healing, cleasing him of all wounds and injuries. Now he goes up to weak and down victims and absorbs THEIR soulpower, gradually making him stronger, one day to get revenge on civilization.

Finally, some new stuff! Alright, here's Acann, only a WIP though. By the way, the lower sphere facial is sending out gas-like energy, not hurling XD

What the other people said :)
Also, when making a walking / running cycle either tween the guy to somewhere or if he's stationary, give him a scrolling background, you need to have something to compare to or else it's gonna be like recording a plane's speed without clouds (retarded)

Edit the rotating code so that it has the instance name of the movie clip and not the mouse. :)

Hmm.. sounds reasonable, I tried yet it was shooting FROM the place I wanted it to advance to. What I need is like a code you'd use in a defense game, you'd put it on the enemy, so it moved to your gun, castle, school full of children, etc.

Agreed, I like Marth more too, cause afteer all my time of experimenting, I've learned that Roy does more damage, while Marth gives more impact, if you don't get me, what I'm saying is Roy brings up the percentage, while Marth makes them fly back more, and occasionally he actually does more damage. Also, his speed in medium attacks far outways Roy's speed in powerful attacks, lets say they are in a fight, and they do simular moves, here's how it would probably work.

Marth can react, move, and attack faster, please consider that, cause well... it's true.

Marth Attacks 10%, Marth attacks 10%, Roy Attacks 15%, Marth attacks 10%, Roy attacks, Marth Dodges attack, Marth Charges for 12%, Roy Attacks for 13%.
This goes on and on... but it results as a 4:3 Marth to Roy damage ratio. However, as always it ultimatly depends on your skill with that character.

A few questions.. Posted August 2nd, 2007 in Game Development

Alright I got a few questions, I had 1 posted yesterday, but no one answered and now I have more. Thanks to anyone who answers one.
1 - I want it so when a variable equals zero, it goes to the second scene, I used this but it doesn't work..
if(_root.countdown == 0);{
_root.nextScene();
}

2 - Is there any way to upgrade from Flash 8 Basic to Flash 8 Proffesional without buying it separatly?

3 - Is there a script that I could apply to a movieclip to make it so it faces and advances to another selected movieclip? Sorry... I still know crap about trigonometry...

Response to: Flah 8 or cs3? Posted August 2nd, 2007 in Game Development

I really can't answer because I've used Flash 8 Basic for the duratation of my flash making (besides MX... ahhh, those were the days :D).
However, I was wondering is there any way I could upgrade from flash basic to pro without having to buy the product seperatly?

What script could I use so a movieclip would face and advance to another movieclip, stopping when it got to it? I also need that to apply to any movieclip that would be duplicated off of it. I still really suck at trigonometry -_-

Response to: Actionscripter Needed Posted July 31st, 2007 in Game Development

Ok, I will try to do it myself :)
One of you said to post an example so here is one of the layouts of a battle (only in one place though, there will be many others)
- The background is far from done -_-
- I've post a few animations of the movieclips doing.... crap
- I'm still working on the menu, only attack has actions on it though.
Can someone tell me how to make it so that when the enemy appears it sets a variable as it's name in the attack menu?
For example on spider I put,
onClipEvent(enterFrame){
_root.enemy1 = "Night Web"
}

"enemy1" being the first variable on the attack menu, which is part of a button to select it for attacking, yet it doesn't work...

Very rough so far :(
Dang... denvish really slows down that framerate...

I know, that's why I'm saying only if they want to and are willing, if no one wants to than so be it :)

Actionscripter Needed Posted July 31st, 2007 in Game Development

Alright, so I've began to make a flash that impersonates Final Fantasy 1... well actually the Japanese and American Final Fantasy series numbers are different, so it's the one with fighter, white mage, red mage, and black mage. I will be using sprites obviously, to get the feeling of FF. I already have a plot of gameplay set up and quite a few enemies, still working on them though. Anyways, I'm looking for a pretty good actionscripter that could get the job done, while still having fun. I want someone who actually WANTS to do this, cause I want it to be as enjoyable as possible. Actionscripting on this consists mostly of -
-Random battles
-RPG Moving (overhead)
-Turn-based battles and random enemy arrangements
-A good method of multiple spells and technigues (there will be many)
Everything else I can do myself, which means cropping sprites, editting spells, and moves for every enemy and tileset layouts. We both will have lot to do.

Stop-Based Sidescrolling Posted July 30th, 2007 in Game Development

I was wondering how you can do an effectient stop-based sidescroller, like the ones you'd see on the old Zelda games... except with out it scrolling, it needs to instantly go to the next screen. I was thinking that I could make it so there's boxes on the side of the stage on each frame and if the character hitTests it, it would go to the next frame (a.k.a. next room), however it didn't work out to well. Does anyone know a good method of doing this?
