Pardon the cliche` saying but, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
It should be suggested, no, demanded that the following threads are stickied, so that:
1. Newcomers to NG Audio Portal will [MOST LIKELY] stop posting threads that have seem to have been clearly stated in this forum's guidelines or whatever, as having a designated thread to post specific information.
2. NewGrounds staff/mods won't have to keep locking threads and redirect said newcomers to where to post said designated information.
3. Someone like me won't be gettin' mad enough, that they went out of their way to just make a spectacle OUT OF THIS ISSUE! /rage
Here's the proposed list [so far]:
+ The Audio Forum Lounge
+ Audio Advertisements!
+ Music Software Help Threads (i.e. Ask Your FruityLoops Questions Here)
+ Awaiting Audio Approval?
+ Voice Actor Wanted
+ Voice Actor Advertisement Thread
+ Nac General Discussion Thread
+ Monthly Competitions (i.e. March Nac 2011: St. Pat.s Day Theme)
There are perhaps other threads not listed here (that I don't know about), that should be on the list above, importance/popularity pending, and there may be some on this list that don't need stickying at all; I just know that not every single NewGrounds member has fav'd rule specific/uber popular threads, and this idea should be enacted one way or another, as we STILL will have ppl that'll just skip over those two green stickied threads at the top of this forum, like they were never there; however, if they see a significant quantity of them together, they are more likely to pause and have a look at whats going on.
Like Jacque Fresco said about The Venus Project: it's not perfect, but it's a lot better than what we currently have.
NGAP users, new, senior, and staff, please take heed to this thread, and let's fix this once and for all!
Suggestions [for other threads], comments, and subscriptions are all welcome here.
*gets of soapbox, and holds out the conch to viewers*
cursed clouds, I can't get a good look at it, but it definitely seems closer.
The long wait is over...
AND THE PATH OF PAIN CAN BEGIN!
no seriously, start looking for it now (Eastern Time ppl should be able to see it...)

This is the hardest video game boss. Why, you ask? Well for one, I can about guarantee you won't see the color purple (not to be confused with the movie of the same name) the same way again, let alone wanting to look at your music player program's (i.e. Windows Media, iTunes) visualizer that much anymore, if it involves lines and orbs.

I had thought that myself, but I think it'd be awkward that FRUITY Loops Studio, would have a non-fruit as its logo. I think Image-Line chose one of those thousands of exotic fruits that the public mainstream doesn't know about, or they customized the fruit's design around a combination of strawberry and banana.
Everytime I see the logo, it reminds me of my Blitzer pre-calculus textbook. Oddly enough, I think pre-calculus and FL Studio have one [other] thing in common, at least from my POV: they're quite difficult to learn/use (but it apparently doesn't seem to be the case considering the number of young teenage composer/producers here I'm noticing on NewGrounds lately). I learn a bit of one, while continuing not to screw up the other, as I'm taking a pre-calc class as we speak.
For now, GarageBand's my music tool, and I've grown into using it the most and ever-boosting my experience with it.

1. War(outdated and dangerous)Because we're the only country that still engages in this practice.
2. Healthcare/insurance (outdated and dangerous)3. Federal Reserve System (outdated and dangerous)Why?
I'd seriously put this at #1 for this country, cause central banks (not just in the U.S.) have had a history of corrupting anything/anyone from the governments to the citizens themselves. It's because of central banking systems like the Fed that really any of the latter or preceding things that I have listed here even exist. Also, inflation is not good at all. The Fed's devaluing the dollar way too much, and it's getting to the point that a new terror threat may plague this nation, if they don't get nixed: hyperinflation.
4. War (outdated and dangerous)Filler; you just want to make it appear as though there are many reasons to hate America...
No, it's actually emphasis.
5. Internal Revenue Service (outdated and dangerous)So you don't want to hold your average American taxpayer accountable?
Accountable for what? The organization is criminal, not us! Aside from unfair taxing, let it be made clear that TAX RETURNS ARE NOT THE LAW.
6. False-flag attacks (outdated and dangerous)Every country deals with this; it's not like it's intentional. Anyway, name a recent example of this happening.
Dunno 'bout you, but 9-11-01, London & Madrid bombings, and even the Times Square and "Christmas Day" attempted bombings seem very fresh to me.
7. Nuclear power (outdated and dangerous)It provides much needed energy and jobs. Sure, we have our problems with it, but what are you going to do? And last time I checked, most countries that can use nuclear power often do.
Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD. Three-Mile Island, Tschernobyl, and Fukushima should be grand examples of just how unsafe it is. Solar, wind, hydraulic, and [eventually] geothermal: any one of these would easily run circles around nuclear or any other [unclean] energy source we massively use today, if implemented nationwide or even worldwide.
8. Two-party presidential debates/elections (WAY outdated and dangerous)Many countries have to deal with this, but yes, this is a problem.
Good to know someone agrees.
9. Citizens United vs Federal Elections Commission decision of '10 (almost outdated but WAY dangerous)The fuck are you talking about?
This. It's a regular topic on the Public Citizen newsletters.
10. Capitalist Affluency (WAY outdated and WAY dangerous)What's wrong with wealth and capitalism, assuming that it's properly(Not heavily) regulated?
Take an environmental science class, and post the question again, if it still hasn't been answered.
11. War (outdated and dangerous)....
12. I'd say it, but first I'd have to put my "anon" mask on. (beyond outdated, and allegedly very dangerous)You can't even conceive many reasons to hate America. Your argument is a joke.
13. War (outdated and dangerous)
Not arguing anything, I'm just listing things that should be fixed, before we do more damage to ourselves as well as our neighbors.
As we can see, this country's loaded with a lot of terrible things that can crush, cut into tiny little pieces, and blast all into oblivion.Almost all countries on Earth have to deal with the problems that you've just stated, dumbass.
What are you talking about?(but these things can change; there's still blood on even the friendliest countries in the world *cough* Canada & Bahrain *cough*)
It's going to hurt me to do this, but I'm talking about "unfriendly" acts like this and that.
I mean no offense to the aforementioned nations, but these are pretty tragic events.

Sure, America isn't the most safe or "fair" countries sometimes, but it is way better than 3/4th of the worlds nations.
maybe it has to do with all the $$$ America has.
Woah, seriously? If I'm scaling it correctly, that's actually the measurement of the national debt (over 14 trillion (with a "T"!) dollars).
For the record, McDonald's popular or not, has officially been put to second fiddle status.
These United States have numerous things to be hated for, even if hate is considered a strong word:

If anyone here just wants to alleviate some tension about it, or just look for a good solid naysaying against anything predicted/speculated about the occurence have a look at this.

If you try to take pics I can almost guarantee they won't be as epic as *this* closeup!
But seriously, it'd be nice to have comments here that don't sound like heckles of sarcasm.
Oh and by 'Extreme' I mean, the moon will actually be FULL during this occurence, which seems to be really rare.
It's the night before the so-called 'Supermoon', is supposed to appear...
Sure it's scary to hear about, but who knows? Something may not happen at all. For those not familiar with what I'm talking about have a read of this.
Some [*insert not so bright term here*] people believe that the epic earthquake/ tsunami/meltdown was "Pearl Harbor karma", when apparently for one, in that sense, they got double-nuked by the U.S. of A. when actually, if anyone's actually read the Bhagavad-Gita, they'd understand Karma is brought on to what occurs in the next life, not the current; Others (lately myself included, just a bit) think it could be a foreshadowing of what could be coming tomorrow night, if what astrologers (NOT astronomers, there's a difference) are saying is true.
While I'm still on the fence on whether or not to just disbelieve it or seek deep shelter the next night, I'm curious to hear what everyone else's thoughts are about the Supermoon...

At 3/15/11 08:59 PM, Ragenaric wrote: Are you talking about this game?
That's the "Vietnam Conflict" game I was referring to in my last post, so no.
As for everyone else's questions/comments, (don't quote me on this) I believe the game was either an RTS or an FPS. I'd probably lean more towards RTS, or it may have been a fusion. I can't actually remember looking at the back of the game box.
Before Activision decided to make the term "Black Ops" a trademark with respect to their Call of Duty franchise, there was a PC game that came out in what was like the late 90s or early 2000s, that went by that same name if I recall correctly.
I never played the game as I didn't have a PC to call my own, with a beige G3 PPC for Xmas by then in its stead. I remember seeing the game box at Staples back in the day, and I think I managed to find it at least one time on the Internet. Now...I can't seem to find it...the intarwebz are just flooded with CoD as it seems the query "Black Ops" has gone together with it, like a horse and carriage (ok, I know that's an old joke).
No, it's not the Vietnam Conflict or Korean Conflict games, that were perhaps released around the same time. I've searched Wiki, IGN, Mobygames, et al,. and still haven't found a trace. I even thought that I might be thinking of the wrong word that follows "Ops", so I tried "stealth", "dark", "secret", etc. Nothing.
The best memory I have of it is its cover art; the cover art is practically the only clue I got for those who may be familiar with and/or have played this game:
It's a rendering of a military person (don't know the rank), in a darkened room (I think there's a light that was hanging overhead), smoking what I think was a cigar or cigarette, while another seemingly opposing military person, is coming from behind him stealthily, brandishing a knife, in a position as if to slit the unaware smoking military guy's throat.
Sounds like something you'd see in an Metal Gear series game, don't it? If you know the game I'm referring to please post away if you're famiiar with and/or played it.
It appears that even with custom settings in GarageBand ['09], the highest sample rate is 44.1 kHz for AAC or Mp3 format. If you send the song to iTunes, you can raise the sample rate to 48.000 kHz, if you desire, given that you want the song in Mp3 format (you can make these settings in ITunes from |iTunes>Preferences...>Import Settings...> Import Using: Mp3 Encoder, then Setting: custom...|
As for bit quality (16-bit, 24-bit etc.) neither iTunes nor Garageband seems to want to share that bit of detail with anyone, and I personally could care less about that respect, really; however, if you want control in that field, it looks like Audacity would be your huckleberry, as it appears that you can set a bit floating point all the way up to 32-bit, needless to say the ability to tweak the sample rate to an insanely high 96 kHz (found in |Audacity>Preferences...>Quality|.
Hurray for post #101.
I'm off to save the world!
Not to generate any bias, but I'm actually making this thread to somewhat commemorate the upcoming date in March when Sega of America officially ceased the selling of Dreamcast consoles (or perhaps the date has already passed, Ida know!; just know it was just ANNOUNCED on the 31st of January that said action would be done).
Anyway...
It wasn't until a year or so ago, I was finding out that on the very same date the Sega Dreamcast was being released in North America, was being shared by the same date of the release of then Square[Soft]'s Final Fantasy VIII. Some reason it urks me inside, as a Dreamcast fan, to find that out, but the truth is the truth, no matter if it hurts or not.
If it was me, I was all for the choice of getting the Dreamcast, even if I had to wait for "Santa" to get it for me. I didn't know very much about Final Fantasy until '97 when I played FFVII at a friend's house. Twas the year my brother got a PlayStation as well, but even then, I never remember hearing anything about Final Fantasy VIII, after VII came out.
I didn't get to play FFVIII until some years later, when my best friend brought it over. It looked nice, actually thinking at the time it was closely related to the previous Final Fantasy (showed how much I understood the series, lol). Wasn't too thrilled that despite the characters being full figured, it seems their appearance took a bad hit compared to the "super deformed" anime look the Final Fantasy VII characters had (non-battle mode).
For me, it just seemed awkward that Square USA would choose that date at the same time SoA was coming out with something as major as a console, but I guess I'll never really know who picked that date first.
If you had the opportunity to choose, if you were at a game store on that date, able to afford to purchase either the SEGA Dreamcast or Final Fantasy VIII by Squaresoft, what would you have chosen (you're welcome to make a choice of both (wow, you must be rich!), if you'd like).
So...
What would YOU choose?
Done, &...done! <no uname change>
Sent you a PM.
What's your timetable on the completion of your project/having a complete soundtrack?
