If anyone cares to know, I have made it halfway through my project for the contest over the Labor Day Weekend, where it gets awesome (or so, I say). I look forward to having a complete number next weekend. I think I'll really be happy to have it released at a decent time, so it becomes more enjoyable for others, even if it's not top 8 material!
There are so many firsts that I've got planned for this, I've lost count!

On another note, my one trance track just receieved a massive zero bomb overnight... so IDK.
Obvious zero bombers are obvious.
I just missed your heart.
That was a reference to a movie right? If not, disregard. :3
Yeah, it was, and that was actually kind of creepy that you made that reference....
Perhaps even creepier than saying "...stay awhile, stay FOREVER!"
Hey all, this YouTube channel, GaragebandandBeyond is a pretty cool place to look, if you want to hone in on using the program. The guy behind it seems to have a pretty useful set of vids on mixing 'n' mastering, among others.
Also, does anyone have GB '11? I still don't, but am wondering what others think of that version, if they have it.
I MADE MY FIRST HOUSE BEAT.....a few days ago!

What program do you use to make your music, and could you possibly link to the songs you've crreated in that studio application? It'd be really appreciated, since music has always been very ineresting, and sounds like it'd be fun to try it.
Thank ya in advance.
Might I say, your uname is one of the most interesting I've come across on NewGrounds, let alone the internet!
Sorry to answer your question with a question, but do you use a Mac or PC? Since I use a Mac I've only really worked with GarageBand '09; as for Windows I've only really used FL Studio 9/10 (demo, btw) like once. If I actually make time to go into the demoscene, I'll work with PlayerPro (Mac) or OpenMPT (PC).
As NewGrounds artists our unames practically lead to our work 'n' stuff at the click of a mouse; I have some works on SoundCloud that aren't here on NewGrounds (...yet!), if you'd like to check that out as well.
Hope this all helps you out!

Thanks for the input! Tbh, with the word "Symphonic" as a part of the game title, I personally felt somewhat estranged when playing the tracks of the game. Ah well, maybe I just see the word in a different light.
oops, I've said too much!

Sorry, but that song conflicts with Chronamut's 4th rule of this competition...

I'm actually really excited about this one! It's too bad the only real time I'd be able to devote to this competition if I did enter it was during Labor Day Weekend. I had a pre-assembled experimental project on the back-burner that I think would fit this NAC best, even dancing a bit around the idea of trying different genres.
If I actually do find ample time to participate in this between courses 'n' whatnot, I'll hotfoot it from start to finish, with the best quality I can!
You've all earned it.
And I'm ma let you finish...
Again, gg guys. I hope I have another chance to participate in another NAC in the future. My tune may have had a real fighting chance if I had one more day to mix/master it; as for now, I'm putting the past in the past, and just will have to work faster next time...
Good game, guys. I was about to declare a forfeit after waiting so long. Best of luck to this month's top 8!
Looks like this is going to be a late judging. I guess I really did dream that about 4 people reviewed my remix...
Are they all in some sort of trouble or what? Chronomut, the judging for the top 8 WAS supposed to be on the 23rd right?
I had mine done and submitted at the VERY last minute, but I hope it'll be worth it...
Submitted for great justice!:
Original version: Twins of Duality
Remixed version: Twins of Duality-<(FTA-Remix)>
ouch, forgot to link the GX version. sry about that!
This contest is perhaps is going to be my biggest challenge yet (and I haven't participated in any NACs yet!)!
I never thought I, myself would be asking about the difference between a remix and a cover, but since I'm no music guru, I must get an idea of what is really required here to differentiate between the two.
By "remix" I guess you could refer to the remix of *this song*, that was done by Richard Dorfmeister, which is essentially, by my ears a change in genre (from acid-trip reggae, to 60s-70s acid-trip electronica).
Would a cover be considered a version of the song that uses the similar instruments/vocals/melodies & harmonies or different instruments that play the same thing, but sound different from the original version, and have little variation from the original? Take Hitoshi Sakimoto's version of Clash on the Big Bridge for example. Notice how the melodies and harmonies are pretty much the same but the genre is a bit different from Nobuo Uematsu's original version.
What about [premium] music arrangements, where essentially the music composers "go nuts" on elaborating on original tunes. Here's the original version of Tomohito Nishiura's Flower Garden from Dark Cloud 2/Dark Chronicle. This is the premium arranged version, done by Yoko Shimomura. Here, we hear a new intro, the same genre of the song, different instruments in some cases being used, featuring embellishments that weren't in the original, that perhaps help the listener identify the style of the arranger.
Looking back, I never thought I'd already see this many different ways to go about making one's own version of another song.
Sorry, that I tend to use VG music a lot, but I just like that type of music a lot. Then of course there's this type of music where a listener who's familiar with a part of a song that is very well known to them and others, that isn't as prominent as it was in another version, almost making it a completely different song altogether. The biggest example I could think of is the comparison between the original F-Zero Mute City and the F-Zero GX version of Mute City. I found comments in videos of the GX version I actually found myself agreeing to in regards to feeling less alienated when 0:45-1:13 kicks in (yeah, it's all of a sudden "nostalgic" now).
If this post makes any sense at all, please help me understand what I need to know to do this the RIGHT way!
Show of hands, who here actually has WaM as a fetish?
One word: Giantess
combine this with any of your other unusual fantasies and you've got the Best. Weird Fetish. Ever.
be it pissing, hentai, female hygiene, pirates, bukkake, cosplay, ninjas, whatever, giantess (like bacon), immho, makes everything better.
I kid you not, true story, it was gts that indirectly made me a pr0n addict, 10 years running!
Only a true GTS fan would feel so turned on by *this*! (NWS)
If you smell them OUTSIDE, I know where you are.
If you smell them INSIDE, just hope it is in fact something you can eat and not Future.
I'll only be happy when Safari gets its full-screen feature, and at the same time not make it a [Mac OS X 10.7 Lion] exclusive.
YouTube used to be so awesome, before it was acquired by Google. It was much more open and independent feeling during it's first couple years. I joined in 2006, after hearing about some guy on a forum somewhere making mention of the site (claiming to do a *better* scene of the "I am your father" scene from Star Wars).
After seeing the vid (in all of its "so-epically-failzor'd-it's-good" awesomness), I was hooked.
YouTube, was the first time and place I was introduced to Michelle Lynn (not familiar with the name? at least 18? search her). Companies like WMG and Square-Enix weren't putting spiders out to take down "fair-use" videos of their IPs, and "A:F6" actually yielded more results than it does today (seriously, there was like nothing you couldn't type in that didn't yield actual search hits).
The only thing that really wasn't cool at the time was that long videos (over 10 minutes at the time) were only limited to those with Director accounts. Apparently they now have more and larger servers so anyone can make really long videos LIKE THIS!
With that new feature came other sacrificing costs that most likely never had to happen like a now silver subscribe button, or lack of emphasis on uploading a video, and dare I say it...VEVO.
There's a lot of things that were all right with YouTube before the acquisition, but it did get a few nice things afterwards (can you say "HD video craze"?).
If you were a YouTuber before YouTube was bought by the big G, discuss here what you liked/loved about it the most.
I'd prefer that this be a comparison between the Dreamcast/Windows version of Phantasy Star Online and the Playstation 2/Windows version of Final Fantasy XI, as other console versions (i.e. Xbox, GameCube) tend to have a more radical difference in them. If you haven't played the preferred versions, that's okay.
Which game has the better overall experience??? in terms of...
-> Music
-> Graphics
-> Interactivity
-> Learning curve
-> Team usability
-> Challenge
-> Amusement ("so much to do, so much to see!...and I LOVE it!")
-> Replayability
And any other things you'd like to add, to better secure your choice.
Let the ultimate online game debate begin! GO!

'Saright, dude. No need to stoop to his level. He may have assumed I was trying to come off as some well known fellow, but I'm not. Strangely enough, I kind of liken his question to the exact same one Meryl inquired about Snake in Metal Gear Awesome 2, only perhaps after LaForge sees the aforementioned thread, he may still not be like "OMG! You're--" or whatever.
This is NewGrounds: sometimes respect will NEVER be earned.
I do admit, I wouldn't expect a *light* aura to act like that, but perhaps like many other NG ppl here today, they just like the color. Though I love blue, I chose this aura, because of what it stands for, FYI.

If it's any compensation to Mr. Camping, this happened a little over an hour ago (no joke!).
