Yeah, let's go with this!

I should've actually said, "demonstration", but I think you get the idea!
Garageband to me is...the only digital audio workstation I know I can use and afford. The learning curve is darn-near intuitive, and as RampantMusik has said, it allows ppl to create music rather quickly.
Garageband is full of surprises waiting to be discovered that can add some magic to your work, like hidden tracks and effects.
It's a program that a Mac user can start out with, and may or may not eventually mature to using other music making programs in time.
Sure it may have its limits compared to more sophisticated DAWs out there, but it's still fun to use.
On top of that, there have been a few music making celebrities that have used Garageband, in their own unique ways (there was one musician fellow from the UK that did a blog on why he thought Garageband was so suiting and perfect for him compared to other DAWs, unfortunately I can't remember his name).
Even moreso, it also turns out that it can be a great assistant, when you're making music...in Logic!

you can find GarageBand's Digital Basic line in an instrument's Sound Generator menu (in its "edit" tab).
For the umpteenth-tillionth time folks!
It's the VULVA that would be talking! (that's like asking if your throat could talk!)
and if said vulva could talk, it would probably ask why it's being referred to as a "VAGINA"!
I may go as far as to say one of my most favorite games, Blue Stinger, unfortunately suffered from what a game magazine called "horrendous graphics". But a lot of the time I never really noticed it. I think the game more than makes up with it, with its super impressive visual effects, which I would still praise to this day.
I will get flak but I'll add FFX. I mean, I don't know if its Square [Enix] or the Sony hardware itself, but it seems that since their games have been developed on the PS line in general, things haven't been looking as great as they possibly could be. I think its perhaps most notable in the hair. Half the libraries of the PlayStation family suffer from jaggieitis, if you ask me. It is perhaps because of these graphic ishies, that companies like Square-Enix will plant FMVs/CG scenes into their games to not only progress plots, but to hide their shame (not saying that every game with FMVs has awful graphics, but it does kind of show, compared to some great looking games (Shenmue) that don't even have pre-rendered backdrops to feel secure.
When you think about it, I think we all in a way (well perhaps most of us), may suffer from what I like to call "pre-Tree of Knowledge" syndrome. What I mean by that is, that there may be a game out there, that we do everything in our power to complete, while being absolutely oblivious to how it looks and whatnot. Then you complete it, and sometime later, you read about the game you played, or share this game with someone you know, and they say something like "the graphics could've been better"; suddenly, your "eyes are opened" (like right after Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge), and you see something you really liked playing, in a different light. Again, not saying that this applies to all games, but in some cases, surely someone knows what I mean.
It's usually a matter of TIME, not always something that's noticed about a game right away. Sometimes the devs have somehow broken the limits of a console in another way, as to not be able to make the game look any better, I dunno.
I think I'm going to shut up now.

For the record Travis, that was an exclusive game....by SEGA, not Nintendo themselves.
If it's going to be a "G.O.W" it can't be a mature-rated game, at least by Nintendo's current standards. Who knows they may surprise us with some new original IPs along those lines for their Wii-U line up, as it's been said that this successor WILL be more closely designed for the hardcore gamers of the world.
*WELCOME*, (thumbs up for reference)
This thread isn't about Star Fox: Armada (old name before it was released as Assault) or Armada Online (which was based on the original). This thread is about Armada the Dreamcast space action- RPG.
There's a chance that no one's heard about this game, or played it, but I'm crafting this thread together anyway. I'll just say now that if this thread goes to the depths of the abyss, I'll know that I at least tried.
You can see a video of the game intro here, and some gameplay here.
There was a trailer for a proposed sequel, but it was cancelled, and a lot of the ideas were transferred to the Armada Online conception (wasn't real fond of it, and I believe that it's still in alpha to this very day).
I thought the music was great (you may swear the composer watched a lot of ReBoot and/or Space Cases), the graphics were sterling, and the size of the game was the most immense and expansive I believe that I've ever seen (right up there with 17,000-screens-map-with-no-loadingThe Faery Tale Adventure!).
It's because of its size, that I think was the biggest reason that the game had its own coordinates, in order to recall key areas of the game. For such a small team of developers (gazing at the credits in the manual) this game was a massively sweet experience.
The company even makes mention of their favorite coordinate (X: 22522, Y: 7334). I took note of some coordinates myself as I played the game, but I can't really say which one's my fav.
Here's what I have, for those interested:
Desert World [X: -22998, Y: -5327]
Ice World [X: -14721, Y: -20311] (the place to be during the holiday season! just remember to be up to a decent lvl!)
Terran Base? [X: -17650, Y: -16260] (I never really played as anything else other than Terran, up until last year)
I liked to hang out in what I call the "blood nebula" area, which is far "north" of the origin. It's a great place to challenge yourself and find new strains of the never-ending armada, you never knew existed. I don't think I've ever found the end of the map going in any direction, I often ended up being destroyed rather quickly by the uber-strong versions of the armada that are found far, far, away from "home".
If I recall correctly the last assigned mission will place you near or pretty much inside the "blood nebula".
Well that's all for now, for those who may have never heard of it, at least. If you've played this game and have some favorite coordinates, please share all here!
Sounds great, but I think this thread should be moved to the Video Games forum; I mean, this is a game we're talking about, no?

I've been dreaming of a "Legend of Link" game forever! I figured that now should be the time that Zelda herself starts pulling her own weight and save the stud (yeah, I said it) in distress (or some trouble-meaning word that starts with "s").
At the same time, big G-dorf should take a vacation from his madness and nominate an equally mad, antagonistic female, to take his place.
If Princess [Toadstool] Peach can have her own "Super" adventure/quest, then so can and should Zelda!
Wow there were some games I forgot to mention like:
H.A.T.E.: Hostile All-Terain Encounter
Kings Quest VII
There were a lot of games that I just watched my older brother play, and never really played myself, but I didn't really start playing certain games [extensively] until I was at least 10, but since that falls out of teh 8,9 I'll just stop here.

Nothing warrants this HD remaster.
In all honesty, while this update from S-E (if it's absolutely real or not) may have its fan sending fiery letters about this choice (especially after watching the PS3 tech demo of 2006), it's good to know S-E has picked "The Last Great Final Fantasy" as a number of people would call it. Hopefully it'll actually look good AND play good enough to lure Skies of Arcadia fanatics (moi included) from their Dreamcasts! Bonus points if they can make it look good enough to opt out of making FMVs to progress the plot (SoA didn't need im, for that reason).

...but I am...
I couldn't believe it but it's true. I recently saw a banner ad of it here on Newgrounds, and had to research its authenticity! ATLUS' "Final Fantasy in Hell" series has been picked up by Aeria Games 'n' Cave to be played online.
Has anyone played this yet, let alone believe this? I hope it does well as I myself won't really have the time (or the diskspace) to check it out right now.
There was something mentioned in Oni's manual about an actual Striker (I think that was the type) that could take immense amounts of punishment ..."'and emerge alive". I don't recall actually seeing one, though I thought I did see one at the climax of the game, but not sure. Never got to actually fight it, if it was one.
Can anyone confirm that this Striker is not a myth?
Basically, I'll say the name of a game I've played and someone else will reply as to whether or not they've played it; whether or not they've played it, they'll then have to say the name of a game they've played, and the following person will say whether or not they played that, and so on.
I wouldn't recommend reviewing if you've played something or not, as it may disrupt the flow of the thread, perhaps just be concise.
It can be a game you played as a demo, rented, owned, or whatever, as long as you've actually played it.
I'll start!

not quite sure you knew what I meant, but that was witty.

E.g. People know carl cox, people love him... but they wont have a scooby when it comes to what tracks he plays. They love them regardless! You go there, you get off your tits... you have a good time!
Thats part of bring a DJ, your advertising in a way. Your playing music you know people will like! New tracks... you keep moving along with the times. Constantly blowing people away with new tracks!
Well, I don't know, either. The term has surely gone from universal these days. There are surely some out there with the name DJ attached, though they aren't "real" DJs (like how Dr. Dre isn't an "actual" doctor).
Don't quote me on this, but I think it was the radio DJs that were the originals. If that were the case, it'd perhaps be more feasible for ppl like us to know of an ONLINE radio DJ, who could link all of our tracks at the click of a button. There might be a couple of ppl like that already, but so far from what I've seen, the NG Radio thing is currently down and that NG music player toolbar app (Chrome) is selective, and doesn't link any of the songs.
Again, there are many types of "DJs" out there, Dannyboi93.

"Download on NewGrounds" you say?
Look, here comes the Logic Train! "Bomp-bomp-booooooooooooooommmmmmmp---"
*checks watch* hmm, not stopping here today..
Of course, he could just gig the music to those who are actually familiar with NG, as surely there aren't that many people in a crowd that want to go "WTFITS" (translation: Whatever this is, I'm not down with it 'cause I never heard of it).
There are a lot of great composers/producers/whatever out there that even people like yourself would go nuts to see them DJ. Take Yuzo Koshiro (Streets of Rage), Nobuyoshi Sano (Gits: SAC-PS2), and Shinji Hosoe (Ridge Racer); great music makers, that appear to have just as much fun doing DJ work at clubs.
I wouldn't care though, there's a number of songs at dances that I don't know who or when they were made, but I'll still try to enjoy them.
I'd love to prove a point more, but I think I've already figured out who I'm talking to...
You guys have your own unique flavors, though some of the names out here my be a bit of a tounge-twister to say in real life
It varies, but don't expect me to wipe when I'm standing in front of one of these (or outside, if that situation ever arises):
hahahha!
Just about any anime girl's voice these days is annoying. Which is why you might prefer to watch Devil Hunter Yohko as it was made around an era, where the voice acting be it Japanese or English translated didn't sound so annoying.
But, if you can make it to the 2nd season of Rizel you'll be in for a treat, 'specially for all the nookiologists out there!
Speaking of College...
I'm really looking forward to luring in more people into our anime club during our college's semester festival tomorrow. If it's still alive, that is. You won't find the likes of Puni Puni Poemi, Rizelmine, or Devil Hunter Yohko anywhere else!
audio club is starting to sound good to found, but wouldn't really know where to start with it...
What were your thoughts/reactions if and when you saw this commercial on TV?
I personally thought:
1. It should've been saved for the SuperBowl
2. The blood was a tad bit overdone (at least just cut to the next segment before we see the bite mark)
3. Like some have said on a blog, it doesn't really market the mentioned product all that well.

I can't remember any others as of now. I'll see if I can come up with some.
What's the maximum age to be considered "young"?
I believe when it comes to the SonicAdventure series, there's a handful of songs with lyrics and musical backing.
Perhaps it could be a tie between these two:
Open Your Heart (Literally, the first game I heard of, that had live lyrics to a final boss battle, let alone any boss, as I never completely played FFVII)
Escape From the City (another first, it was tubular hearing lyrics sung while playing the first level of SA2).

I'm not Wade, apparently. But, if you really wish to get a hold of Wade. I think it'd be better if you send him a PM.

Oh sorry, missed the "games" line.
128-bit appears to be the highest you can go with a computer these days, at least by video (recall my electronics instructor saying that personal computers will never be on par with game consoles in terms of bit-age, though I've gathered online that today's consoles actually have no higher bit-tage than the Dreamcast (I personally doubt consoles like the PS3 would actually be that "close to home" so to speak).
Go for it!
