I saw that one while depositing - I voted a 2 for the way he had set up the browsing, and knowing that my fellow newgrounders like little girls => +1 save point.

Thought about flagging it, but there is no offensive content.. the whole idea is rather disturbing though.. eh. A true borderline case; innocent until proven otherwise?

Topic: Democracy: Still a Retarded Idea

Posted: 01/06/08 11:35 AM

Forum: Politics

The old British voting system where students had a double vote and professionals a triple vote and other men a single vote was a compromise...

I think some of you overestimate the influence of a political party upon the bureaucracy.. democracy allows for slow change without stagnation, since candidates have to spend the majority of their time to acheive popularity and can therefore not ravage the administration of a country during their periods.

Controlling the masses can be acheived in many ways, currently "one person = one vote". Democracy is an excellent invention to keep people content, avoiding rebellions and revolutions.
The competition for power is rather fierce, meaning that numbskulls will eventually be forced out, although we can all agree that this is far from ideal.. On the other hand, considering all the flaws in human beings, I think we can be content.

and btw, lol @ bush and gore's SAT results. Ok, maybe the test was scaled differently before, I dunno..

Topic: Support Ethiopia

Posted: 01/06/08 11:04 AM

Forum: Politics

As so eloquently stated previously, the intervention in Ethiopia would be shooting yourself in the foot.

Also remember that China has a major influence over Africa now, including Ehtiopia (investing without asking pesty questions about human rights). Oddly enough, very few ask them to step up and help to resolve the conflict. As human beings, we have a responsibility towards the victims of war anywhere on the planet, but criticizing the US for not taking military action is bollocks.
As long as Ethiopia is not seen as a breeding ground for terrorism, little will be done.

The last conflict the US resolved was the war in Kosvo (together with NATO, but without the support of the UN, as Russia and China vetoed), but European soil is very different from African soil. Africa is in constant guerilla like war and extremely poltically volatile, just look at the election in Kenya.. Tricky business.

Posted: 01/06/08 10:44 AM

Forum: Politics

AFAIK, the top 10% of America's wealthiest posess 44% of all monetary resources.
Can't remember the source, don't shoot. I guess that's what the author is poking at.

If you are not content about the American welfare system, come to Scandinavia. We need skilled labour anyhow.. you might have to learn a language though. Ironically, I envy Americans for their opportunity to be independent of their government.. I remember, a state that is powerfull enough to supply you with all you need for a comfortable life is also powerfull enough to take it all away.

And lastly, I would never take pride in what country I am from, even if that country invented videogaming.
How can you defend pride derived from the actions of people that is not yourself?

No, I will not jump on the "I GOT CONDOMS LOOK AT ME" bandwagon, just wondering. They are fun as baloons too (I use the ones we get at school which expiered in 2003 as water baloons, they own).

I think the norwegian school system really think we need more norwegians.

If you want peace then do not do the same as the violator. Sometimes crude violence is necesarry though.
We should get over this shit and rise above their silly treats.. of course the cartoonists have to take their measurements if they feel that is necesarry.. but don't let the conflict spiral.
To me the judges seem a little TOO human.. sometimes it is ok to not have a pride the size of an irish potato.

Pro:
Risk of death is less.
Contra:
In some cases you benefit the society more being dead than alive.
You like living "On the edge" (driving without a seatbelt is an extremely boring edge).
You want to commit sucide, but you do not want people to think it was!

I do not get in a car if I cannot wear a safety belt. Period (if the speeds are over 20 km/h or something).

There is only one sex scene between the two men, if I can remember correctly. And it is far from "pro pornsters" getting it on. There is a lot of making out and cuddeling though. You should watch it with a girl if you can, the story really is not about homosexuality only, but forbidden love in general.
I was really sceptic to see it (like I am to every single movie but sci-fiction) but I was posetively surprised.

the person in control of ghost mouse just sets it up basically.. that's it.. sounds to me you got a trojan indeed.. run a virus check or something :P
or someone is doing a direct IP hack which is possible if the comp under intrution has got a certain lack of firewall or something.. so some computer wise friend/enemy of you could have some fun at your expense.

ofc we shoul be able to help with b) and that's perhaps why Wade posted.
