I agree with what this guy says! What is the point of this topic? I think nobody could care less if we are not on this list of yours. I also agree that these boards are going down for the reason that many people are obsessed with some popularity contest that isn't even happening. So sad.

And you, my freind, are obviously in need of luff. Otherwise, you would have just gone your merry way and not bothered typing up a whole paragraph about how this post sucked. It's a cry for attention. I know... I used to be there, too. It's okay. You'll find someone.

You give us intelligent people a bad name, asswhipe. Indubitably, you appear rather unequipped to carry on an unostentatious dialogue with those of truly particular linguistic education - your communicative formulations were barely audible to the ears of Originality. I was driven to recollect the earlier years of my educational career upon digesting the totality of your post, the insults contained within bearing far more than a slight similarity to those I was deploying upon my victems during the Great War of theThirdgraders.

I just recieved an Email... Posted June 4th, 2005 in Politics

...about Christianity.

I do not intend for this thread to be a christianity vs. atheism thread, though I doubt it will evolve into anything else.

Anyways, I got this email from a freind of mine, and I was wondering what opinions other people have on the subject. I'm also posting my own views, be they right or wrong, in reply to each section of the email. Here goes nothing.

Subject: Agree or Disagree
This is by a daughter of a murdered couple in Raytown, Missouriwho had a Bible and Bookstore on 63rd street. Just one more example:
When I had to testify at the murder trial of my parents a week ago, I was asked to raise my right hand. The bailiff started out "Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?" I stood there and waited but she said nothing. She said "Do you?" I was so stunned I blurted out "What happened to "so help me God'?" She came back with "Do you?" I replied yes, but I was perplexed. Then the judge said "you can say that if you want to." I stopped, raised my right hand, and finished with "So help me God!""

So what? They're just fucking words. Chill out.

I told my son and daughter that when it came time for them to testify, they should do the same. It's no wonder we have so many problems in this country. If I'd had my wits about me I'd have told them that taking God out of the courtroom is only going ! to result in more criminals and murderers like him being in there!

Right, right. You'd be suprised how many christian sex offenders there are. How many Christian murderers there are. Don't think that your specific religion is the only one that (sometimes) results in 'better' people. Comments like this have ALWAYS pissed me off... even back when I was a Christian. For fuck's sake, saying "So help me god" at a trial isn't going to make a fucking difference in how many murderers there are. If you're going to fight for the right to shove your religion down everyone's throats, then do so intelligently. Use logic.

I don't know what can be done about it, but it's time we stepped up and did omething.

CNBC this morning had a poll on this question. They had the highest number of responses that they have ever had for one of their polls and the percentage was the same as t his: 86% to keep the words, 14% against. That is a pretty commanding public response.

I was asked to send this on if I agreed or delete if I didn't.

You know what's funny? That's only the people who watched CNBC, you idiot. Not every fucking american was on the recieving end of the poll. Also, the majority of people honestly don't give a damn. The reason 86% came back as "Keep it" is because 80-86% of the people responding to the poll were moved to respond at all - likely because they were Christian to begin with. It doesn't matter how many of you there are, if Christians are the majority or not. You shouldn't have the right to infect every last damn part of our culture, no matter HOW right you think you are.

Now it is your turn... It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a mess about having "In God We Trust" on our money and having God in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the 14% to Sit Down and SHUT UP!!!

Oh, that's fucking hysterical. Minorities don't have any rights, do we? You know what happened the last time the Christians told everyone else to shut up? Thousands of people were murdered. It's funny how you can sit there and pretend the Crusades never happened. I find it amusing. How about we "14"% stand up and tell you to keep your fucking mouth shut? You wouldn't like that, now would you? Seriously, I thought you were supposed to treat others as you wish to be treated. That's not very christian of you, little hypocrite.

If you agree, pass this on, if not simply delete..

*delete*
