Apparently, furniture has feelings. Or so, my aunt's boyfriend thinks. My aunt's son, Ethan(aged 3) climbed onto one of the living room chairs, something he always does in the presence of my aunt. However, my aunt was absent at the time, and when she's gone her boyfriend likes to act extra strict to poor old Ethan. However, this time I questioned his sanity.
After Ethan had climbed onto the chair, my aunt's boyfriend immediately snapped at Ethan, and said "Ethan, is THAT how you treat furniture?!?! Look, you've gone and hurt it's feelings! Say sorry and hug the chair, or you're going to stand in that corner over there until you're ready to apologize to it!" Of course, Ethan, like any sane person, refused. He doesn't know too many words, but I imagine something was going through his brain like "What the fuck are you smoking?"
So, tldr, my 3 year old cousin got punished for not apologizing and hugging a chair.
