America has declared war on Britain twice. The first time Britain was severely outnumbered, on unfamiliar turf, had the disadvantage of fighting a country the size of 50 countries, and the French allied with America, and we still killed way more Yanks for every soldier. The second time was a draw, with Britain having to deal with the Napoleonic wars and running a global empire, and we still got more kills and burned down the white house.
Very impressive when you consider that waging war on the USA is fundamentally different from waging war on any other country since, with any other country, capturing the capital city would certainly mean victory for one side, but in America, capturing the capital city would have no effect so any one who wanted to invade America would have to capture all the major cities which would be practically impossible.
