Also recently I saw an ad that showed Windows have 115,000 viruses a year. Macintosh never had any at all. That also impressed me.
Not true.
BAck in the day, when Windows was merely a wee nipper, most viruses that circulated were made for Mac's.
Out of curiosity, what was the ad for? Was it for Mac?
And think of it like this.... why spend days or weeks creating a virus for Mac's, when you can spend hours doing the same for Windows machines, and maybe get better media coverage and kudos.
The other thing, of course, is that your statement is true to an extenet. There have been no virus warnings for OS X. That's because everyone's too busy writing the things for Windows.
Which is better?
Neither. Simple answer.
They eachhave their pro's and con's. Mac's work well becuase the hardware range for the software available is very limited.
Windows is rather spanking in that it will know about approx 85% of hardware you throw at it.
Imagine, if you will, being able to upgrade your Ford Escort to a Mustang GT500 for $600 and the engine being able to cope. That is Windows.
Also imagine being able to upgrade your Ford Escort, but only by replacing it with a whole new Mustang at $40,000. This is a Mac.
The difference being that everyone is putting nails in the road to puncture your tires but the whole new Mustang has puncture-proof tires, your upgraded Mustang will break down more, and the whole new Mustang is more appealing to women.
Pro's and con's, my friends. Not a clear-cut choice, is it?
I shan't even go into the Linux-and-others part of the same topic.
