Horrible answer. Predestination means your whole life has been planned already. The real answer is that God is outside of time, thus, his preordination has taken into account every choice you made and will make. And since He is outside of time, He has planned everything according to the choices everyone will make.

uh... I said that, I just took less words. I thought it was assumed that I was saying your entire life was planned around your free will.

I actually feel like telling you that pre-destination and free will do not conflict. If there is pre-destination then you do have free will. The choices you will make however have already been understood and planned around. It is never planned around the choices you don't make, because those will never ever happen. If you were to say that someone might make a different choice if they were told again of the circumstances then I would say that has already been planned for anyway. (I personally do not believe in pre-destination anyway).

I didn't pay much attention to the model, but the car sucked. It was old and showed it. Uh... I'm sure all heterosexuals only care about love, and only having sex just because they need to carry on the human population. Anybody who has sex is sinful. Period. The bible says that, why do you think Jesus was the only one born without the 'original sin'? His mom didn't screw. That tells me everyone who ever has sex is sinful. Its all a sin so why not man on man?

The real reason people are against gay marriage is because it is wrong. It is a sin, and most of us believe in right and wrong and in a higher power.

It is wrong to you. Why? I don't know, but you are very hypocritical in how you say it. Have you ever had sex? If so then you are sinful.

Your rhetoric won’t save you now. Satan.

After you die you think you’ll be nothing anyways so why should we even help you. Seeing how if there is no right or wrong we don’t have to do a thing to help you.

Who is this 'we'? What the hell are you talking about when you say 'help'? Government is based on laws, not men (the US anyway). The laws say no discrimination and equal rights for everyone. It doesn't matter what anyone else says, they aren't the law.

And constitutionally your not able to marry so…leave it be how it is

You seem to have forgotten Massachusetts. We proudly marry gay couples. Just come here and get marries. Constitutionally Gays will not be allowed to marry if an amendment is passed. It hasn't happened yet so they are still allowed to marry.

You are all lucky we even let you be gay to begin with!

What? Are you so blinded by your fictionalized bible that you cannot read the Constitution? He isn't lucky we let him do anything, he has the same rights to think what he wants and do what he wants.

STOP ASKING FOR MORE!!!!

He isn't asking for more, gays are just demanding the same. Its called equality.

Being gay doesn’t bother us till you do this crap and show how sinful you are.

Yes is does, otherwise you would have no problem with gay marriage.

If you dont belive in god then it cant be wrong for us to just off you.(silly beliefs)

Yep, with each thing you said you steadily lost credibilty, and I think this just put you off the scale in terms of any respectability whatsoever. You have just proven yourself to be a close-minded bigot who's only interpretation has so blinded him from the reality that is the United States Constitution you don't think its wrong to kill someone just because you hate how they are. Think about it, we know DNA splits and mixes when organisms mate, why wouldn't it change a little bit each time? Considering the genetic makeup of everything is about 90% identical, I'd say that at one point it was 100% identical and we've just moved away from that by evolving.

Right, the UN should have taken on the largest superpower ever to grace the Earth when they told us that there were no WMD's in Iraq and we refused to believe them and just had to step in because we are "mighty America, always right." Response to: I really like this girl... Posted July 30th, 2004 in General

Hey, I was in a pretty similar situation (the curse of shyness). What you do is wait a little while. Unless its been about 3 months of you liking this girl then don't go for it until its been that long. If you are so completely smitten with her then you can at least wait 3 months to figure out whether there is any interest whatsoever. Does the girl talk to you? Does she ever smile if you talk to her?

Think about it, girls don't always let on when they are interested in someone. It took me two years to figure out that I liked a girl more than any of the others, and probably 2 months since I decided I would ask her out for me to actually do it. Another 2 months until I actually asked her to be my official girlfriend, another 2 until we held hands, and then it took off from there. The best relationships are those that go from notice, to acquaintance, to friends, to more than friends, to boyfriend/girlfriend, and so on and so forth. This girl didn't ever show interest and neither did I (we were both shy people, and for some reason I was afraid of people knowing I liked someone).

The point is this: go for it if you think you've waited long enough and are completely sure. Once you have, take your time, I've been going out with my girl for over a year now, and we've already figured everything out and don't plan on ever being separated. Whoodathunkit?

If you don't believe in a God, then what is your basis for your morals or any type of right or wrong behavior? Because if there is no god then.....how can you justify any of your actions as being right or wrong????

I set my own standards by what I consider good. I was given the benefit of a childhood where it was clearly distinguished what the difference between right and wrong was. Killing people is not on my agenda because that is wrong. Stealing is not on my agenda because stealing is wrong.

I guess I'm the only one here who has figured this question out, so allow me to answer it for you:

The basis of my determination of what is right and wrong is other people. I like people. Pretty much everyone. People hold good conversations, give you a good laugh, help you experience life, protect you, give you confidence, give you power. People hold hateful conversations, make you angrier than you ever thought possible, try to destroy life, expose you, make you self-conscious, and place you in ruins...
God isn't an almighty powerful being somewhere else, God is people. A large group of humans can do just about anything to a single man or woman they want to... that I will believe.

Response to: Do you believe in god? Posted July 30th, 2004 in Politics

I personally do not believe in god.

I see it like this, there are two types of people (maybe more, but I'm only talking about two). One type is too intelligent to take almost anything anyone says as fact without specific and concrete evidence. These types of people are realists in every sense of the word, they have to have everything proven for them fully and completely in order for them to accept something as true.

The other type, will believe in what you have to say simply because it offers an explanation and is plausible. These people don't need concrete evidence, just as long as somebody said it once and phrased it nicely they will go along with it. I always found it slightly funny that people who would say 'Oh My God' frequently were also the ones who told and listened to rumors with no credence to them without a second thought as to their believability.

Personally, I like to think that I am one of the people who just needs solid proof to accept something as true. I think that God is just a part of people's minds that takes care of the need for a friend and companion when there is no worldly thing that will do.

I hope I haven't insulted anyone by saying this, it is just my opinion. I think God is a great thing to many people, just not to me. God helps people deal with their problems, gives them a reason for everything, gives them a motivation for championing certain causes, gives people a unifying character trait that allows for friendships to grow and prosper, and gives people a way to get over the loss of people near and dear to them.

I do not think that I need God, and have come to an understanding with myself that I never will. I have had a certain set of morals that I have followed all my life. I cannot say I like following what other people set as a trend, but am not surprised when I find myself doing something familiar. I am not afflicted by the crippling need to conform, nor the ridiculous need to rebel.

To summarize for people not into long posts:
God: no
Morals: yes
Church: no
People: yes
