Not true... And the number is way too low. Fourteen percent of Americans claim to have seen a UFO. Many people do not discuss what they see for fear of ridicule. And to say that intergalactic travel is impossible is not fair either. 100 years ago it was impossible to break the speed of sound. Today it is common place. We really cant comprehend technology that we do not have.

But the guy from Spike TV had it all wrong!
The scene wasn't 2 minutes... IT WAS 40 SECONDS!!!
The entire scene was maybe 40 seconds. I wasn't expecting hard core, but I did think they would have shown something a little more erotic based on the fox report. I don't think I would have a problem with teenagers playing this... The only issue I have with the game is once you beat it you cant go back and play some of the sub-assignments. Now I'll have to start over to go back and play those.
Alright, so I just finished the game and the Fox News Report was completely wrong. The sex was a very small part of the story. It didn't even show anything. For people who wondered when they were going to release a Knights of the Old Republic 3, here it is... Mass Effect truly kicked ass. Decent game play and graphics with an excellent story line. 9/10

Interesting... not quite a dualist, but on the border. Wouldn't you say that they are not necessarily real only experienced and interpreted? For instance, I can not give you a cup of anger, but I can sense anger through interpretation of sensory data and electrical neuro impulses. Anger, love, justice, all being labels we created to identify the impulse. So would you say they are real because we believe them to be, or because the exist in our mind, or because they actually do exist?
Besides, is it even possible for feelings to be fake? Think about it. Even if a feeling was introduced by cheating, then you would still "feel" it, and therefore forfil everything that is required for a feeling to be real.
Absolutly. I have read stories with fictional characters that really pissed me off. Or I have seen movie that have made me sad. The feeling is experienced, but are those emotions 'real'?
That doesn't make sense. What framework you have to look at the world with doesn't decide your thoughts and feelings. You could think that this world is just one big lump of dead ice, and you could still be the person who loves life the most.
When I say that I mean that idealists normally believe in a diety and an afterlife. Materialists very rarely do, because then they become dualists. When I say important I do not necessarly mean as an individual experience but rather the grand scheme. For a materialist, there is no soul, and no ethreal beings. That pushes them into a dualists or an idealists mindset. If God created man in His image, then man is far more important in the grand scheme than if he is a byproduct of chance.

Well then screw it now! I'm busting all my cfl bulbs and flushing the mercury in those down the drain as soon as I'm done playing with it!
Ha ha

Good... I really am glad that I am not the only one that feels this way. I posted this because I heard McCains smokin' hot daughter talking about how McCain relates to the youth by identifying global warming. Then I saw a tv show where the host said " I am as serious as global warming." To top it off I saw an internet banner ad for a company that asked what my ideas about being green are! So I started feeling pretty alone about not really giving a damn about global warming.

Thinking about it futher: Eventually we will not be able to run. If they are hell bent on religion world domination then the ground will have to be stood eventually. Country hopping may not be the answer. The United States was founded from violence. Some of that is evident in our Constitution. We like it that way. There is only so much shit we will take... and I am afraid that it could lead to racism and religious pursecution. We don't want to violate the freedoms we hold so dear because of islamist.

Its bullshit man. I mean, feedom of speech is such a double edged sword. On one hand, if we silence these assholes we violate the very thing we believe. On the other hand, they use our freedom of speech against us, and then cry foul whenever anyone says anything against them.
Well, fuck 'em. I about to dig up some intolerance. I wont tolerate people trying to violate my rights.

I'm glad we haven't signed on yet... I guess that is what pisses me off most. Think about what that money could be invested into to do some real good. With so many billions of dollars the 'green' folks could have their wish, instead of throwing money at a problem we might not be able to fix ( and perhaps would fuck it up even worse). I'm for alternative fuels, but it is purely economical for me. But like I said, I just cant seem to make it an important issue. At least not warming. Murcury and shit... sure. Keep it clean.

My family got the hell out of Austria about 100 years ago. It's too bad things aren't going well. We are seeing some of the same things as far as political correctness are concerned. I think people will eventually revolt against the governments. It wouldn't be the first time.

You are a strict materialist... and you are in good company. I assume you believe things such as love, justice and other emotion are merely the sum of electrical impulse and social upbringing? The opposite idea is Idealism. This concept argues that only emotions and ideas are real. For example, a table is made of wood... which is made of living cells (previously living) which are made of atoms. So an idealist would argue that the table is not real, but the concept or idea of a table is real.
Life is more important as an idealist, but I would argue that the materialists are probably right.

I fail to see anything intelligent in the way the Universe was created according to the Bible.
Intellegent design is not the same as literal biblical creationism. Based on your world view they may have the same credibility, but they are considerably different.
Intellegent design does not claim a god created everything (though it can) I merely claimes that live is too complex to have happened by chance. Hell, space aliens could have bred us in a lab, and they may be eternal beings. The point to intellegent design is that a concious being is responsible for our origins. Be that being the judeo-christian God or some other entity.
I began to notice a substantial shift in mainstream ideology. It has even affected business and government.
I am referring to the environmental movement. Everyone claims that this is an important issue. Please, don't get me wrong. I like clean water. I enjoy clean air and the outdoors. I want to make sure I pass the planet off to my kids in as good of shape as I got it. I guess my problem comes with all this carbon bullshit.
I feel like people are trying to convert me to their religion. "You need to be saved" has been replaced by "You need to save electricity." I hear politicians on both sides and they act like this is important. My problem is, I really don't give a shit and I feel like I am alone. I am scared to death that the government (US) is going to waste billions of dollars trying to offset carbon.
I think we need to get off of oil, but not for the environments sake... just because it's too damn expensive and our dependency is a weakness.
So, am I wrong? Is this something a majority of people do care about and I am insensitive? I have heard that going green is a major issue for young voters. I consider myself a young voter, but for me I get nervous when politicians share their plans for carbon offsets.

Well, if its any consolation, you can't piss with an erection. This may be a burden when you wake up in the morning and either have to adjust your tragetory or piss in the shower, but it comes in handy to keep you from pissing the bed every night. What other excuse do we have for hard-ons in stage REM?

So why don't we just have one eye?
That's way more energy efficient that 2 eyes.
Um, depth perception happens to come in handy now and then. Try covering an eye. After a few seconds things stop looking so three dimensional.

Did you know in Britain a silencer is considered a seperate weapon? What a useless law that is.
That doesn't surprise me. In the U.S. you can only legally purchase a silencer in certain States. Even in a very pro-gun State like Oklahoma I would have to have a certain certificate for owning a silencer. It basically puts you on a watch list in case any problems come up.

I may not support ID, but I would have to say that a much worse design would be eating and shitting from the same hole. Eating and breathing works pretty good for me... about the same as sex. You have different internal plumbing but in the end it all comes from the same spigot.

Slippery slope fallicy.
:Still hold on to that everybody should be allowed to own one if they want? At some point of time, there has to be established a limit for how much firepower an private person can own.
But by that rationalization you could say that freedom of the press does not include video or camera. Freedom of speech must be limited to unamplified speech only. The founders were bright enough to make the consitution flexible for the changes that would come. There are probably a lot of things the founders did not take into account when they penned the constitution, but they did know that the country would change long after they were gone. And people are smart... if subatomic weapons ever do exist in the handheld state then I am sure we will see legislation against them. That is, if they become the criminals weapon of choice. More then likely they will be owned by rich collectors only for the sake of having one.
I love guns. I have a Glock model 22 .40 caliber standard issue. A Springfield Armory .45 XDS with the tactical barrel. A .44 magnum Taurus revolver with the compensated four inch barrel. A Raven p-25 (just a small saturday night special). For rifles I have a Browning 7mm magnum. A browning .22.
I have some pictures, but they are too big. They are up on my myspace page. I'm pretty content with my collection right now, but my next pistol will be a glock 9mm.
Here's the thing, guys. Parents need to have a right to raise their kids however they want. Some people would say that raising a child to be agnostic or atheistic is child abuse because it damns that childs soul to hell. Shit, I know people who believe that! So, as long as the most harm they cause is a little unease around strangers, then let them to it. I'm sure I do shit they don't like. Now, if the families are forced to send there kids, then there is a problem. If the kids are forced, oh well. I was forced to do shit I didnt like, like mowing the lawn or going to school. If they don't like it, they can leave when they are older. We need less government involvement in how children are raised, not more. Sure, if there is abuse then it needs to stop and people need to be punished, but teaching a kid to be a radical christian? Why the hell not.
There is a list of logical fallicies, and appeal to athority is one of them. There is some misconception as to when the appeal is actually a fallicy and when it is not. For example, the Pope says that Jesus Christ is the son of God. Jesus Christ is the son of God because the Pope said so. This is an appeal to authority that is a logical fallicy. Citing a reference who is an expert on an issue is not the same as an appeal to authority. For example, John Brown, world reknown climatologist says that the earth has warmed two degrees over the last 100 years. This can be a fallicy if you are quoting him only because of who he is. If he has worked in the arctic circle with various instruments and his conclusions state that, then it is okay.
Make sense?
