This feature is something that I think can be useful in rooting out angry pre-teens who are looking for nothing but porn. But no matter how constructive a negative review might be, many people can take it the wrong way. I think we have to be careful of this.

Maybe a test run is in order before anything is set in stone. Do a random check to see if poorly-rated reviewers are offering constructive advice, or are downright mean.

On a side note, I was reading through reviews of Johnny Rocketfingers and noticed one by Andrew Dickman, (formerly) one of my favorite artists and February's King of the Portal.. (Rockman Neo, Wily Shorts series, etc.) and his review was outright slander. If I'm not mistaken, he gave a 0 and did not offer any advice, only a piece of his mind. I went on to read all reviews left by Andrew, and found that most, if not all, were just mean, nasty things to say.. no advice from a naturally talented artist, just insults.

I guess I was surprised that one of the most popular flash artists on NG was blatently bashing another talented and popular artist. I absolutely love Andrew Dickman's work, but he lost a lot of respect from me.

Not bad. I think we've been spoiled recently with huge hits from synj, a new 8-bit theater, and let's not forget the suppish Johnny Rocketfingers.

Compared to what we've seen, this is just a group of average flashes.. but any other week, they'd be great. Let's not forget that.

P-Bot's post doesn't bother me at all. I can scroll down to read the news.. that's fine. But if it's a problem for so many, why not have an abbreviated post from P-Bot, and a "Click here" thing to jump somewhere else to read everything else he has to say.

I am also getting a lot of error messages, especially when I log on from work (it's a small server through a small ISP) I get messages like "You've already voted on this movie" when I never even visited that page in my life.. and I also received a warning saying the administration was being informed.. should I worry? LoL.

Anyway, I guess my original point was that P-Bot is fine. Not that NG needs any improvements, but they work for me.

Works for me, Tom-boy. It's as good as it's gonna be at this stage of the game. I like the idea that member reviews will be able to influence the rating system.

Well, I don't need to be protected from dirty words or naughty pictures.. and I see more violence each day at work that I do in a week's worth of portal flashes.. but it's not a bad idea. Just one more way to classify the stuff as it comes through the dark portal. Kudos.

After reading Tom 'n Wade's notes, I suppose I may have misused the "0" option. I try to vote fairly, and I don't use zero as often as others might, but I do vote zero on utter shit.
I work in Flash, and I've not yet submitted anything because I refuse to submit something that will get blammed in seconds. Fact is, NG is a tough crowd, so I'm going to bust my ass and be 500% happy with my work before sending it to the dogs. I know how difficult Flash can be, so I take people's hard work into account, but when someone spends 30 seconds on 2 stick figures and a penis, it's gonna be blammed.
I have no problem voting 1 instead of zero, but really, I can have twelve submissions in the next hour if I put absolutely no work into them.. does that mean they deserve 1's & 2's?
