imo the second one now looks better, though the eye sockets and mouth could use a little depth. just remember that when you carve into a pumpkin it has a thickness to it, (the depth from the outer skin and the inside) add that meat in their and it will give a better look.

you should shade in the creases, the lines and no lines ones look flat.
