Hiya I'm submitting a Flash I made to a film festival but I have to burn it to a DVD to submit it. I don't have Quicktime pro so I cannot export it as .mov
Which leaves me with AVI, right?
So... here are the compression options my Flash gives me for AVI files:
Cinepak Codec by Radius
Intel 4:2:0 Video V2.50
Intel Indeo (r) Video R3.2
Intel IYUV codec
Microsoft RLE
Microsoft Video 1
Microsoft H.263 Video Codec
Microsoft H.261 Video Codec
MS MPEG-4 3688 V2
MS MPEG-4 3688 V1
Xvid MPEG-4 Codec
Full Frames (Uncompressed)

I don't know too much about this stuff.. so can you download other compressors or something? It has to be real good quality because it will be shown on a big screen, I believe
Any help would be awesome!

Oh and here's the link to the animation:

Well this is a drawing in two slightly different styles, I guess. Skullkid is very sketchy, and Jim is cleaner. For Jim I was concentrating more on proper like... muscle anatomy, I guess. Also his head was pretty tough to get accurate.
Skullkid... I just wanted to look cool. Haha. Skullkid I'm more concerned about the shading, I suppose. Need to practice shading more..
So
Tips?
Constructive criticisms?
Comments?

Also for both characters I was trying to get as accurate as possible (though now I realise I forgot to put in Jim's crossed blue straps on his front)
Also here's a bigger, higher resolution picture

Response to: There's coat-hanger in me... Posted February 15th, 2006 in General

Ok. I got the "coat hanger" removed today. It wasn't really a coat hanger though, it was something like a two inch long nail. At least a nail is what it looks like, it's decently mangled. I have it wrapped up in some tinfoily stuff and it's in my pocket right now. Anywho, an interesting thing is there's still a bit of the t-shirt I was wearing that day attached to it.
It was a very simple thing to remove. They just froze the skin around the area and made a small cut where the scar from the entry was. I was watching it in the reflection of the doctor's glasses. Couldn't see too much though, it was a pretty small view, and they put this brownish pasty stuff all over the area, so that obscured more. Since the thing was near my arm pit area it tickled me quite a bit.

Please give me an opinion. I want to improve. They're just rough doodles at the moment.

As I said, I can't really get pictures, but if my friend gets a cable to put the video on the computer, I'll be able to get that on.

The thing was that the cut it made looked very superficial. There wasn't even any blood dripping out from it. It just seemed as though it bounced off a rib or something like that, and wasn't a serious problem at all.

Me and my friend made that small video I was talking about, but he doesn't have the cables needed to put it on the computer.

I'm going to get X-Rays on Monday after school.

Broken_souls, I already said that all I saw on my was a little dot, about the same (a bit bigger) circumference as a coat-hanger. It went in me at such an angle as it made a very small hole. I guess I was in a bit of shock so I didn't feel too much pain. Can't remember the incident TOO well anyways.

By the way. After school I'm going to a friends house. The friend owns a digital camera, and wants to film me attaching a magnet to myself. So I might be able to get a small video of me doing that online.

Fh, you don't need a doctor, if the hangar's magnetic, get a magnet and see if you can slide it to your side or up to your shoulder and shove it out. If that fails, get a knife and make a small incision, then pull it out with the magnet. Seriously, it might sound sick, but it's what i would do.

Strangely enough I actually thought about doing that for a split second... but seriously, why take any amount of risks when you can go see a doctor? And I don't like the idea of moving a piece of metal around that's inside of me.
I just tried putting a magnet over where the coat-hanger is and it stuck there. Wow. It can even stick to me through my t-shirt. This is getting very interesting..

I might be able to get "after" pictures

Tried taking a picture, it didn't turn out too well. You can't see it very well. It just comes out as this small white blobbish thingy on my skin. And the picture was kind of blurry.
Plus my sister was really "weirded" out by the whole thing in general. SOoo... no pics right now. Maybe once it's removed.

I'll try to, but my sister isn't here right now, so... I'm not sure when I'll have them. If I would be able to get them.

Talk about nerves of steel. lol

That's another weird thing. I thought it just sort of bounced off because all there was, was a little hole there. It went in at a very.. good angle for it to enter me. I can't remember the the incident TOO well, but ya. It looked like it just bounced off or something.

Huh... I never thought about that.... why WAS there a coat hanger on my lawn?!

There's coat-hanger in me... Posted January 30th, 2006 in General

Seriously, two or three years ago, I was mowing the lawn. I didn't check it thoroughly for... solid objects. Anywho, I ran over a coat-hanger. A piece of it flew off and hit me right at my heart. I just thought it bounced off. I got a bit freaked out. Turned off the mower, and went inside.
About a year ago, I noticed a strange sort of lumpish type thing where my heart is. It's above the rib cage. I thought it was just a really big artery or something... I'm not the most educated person in the world when it comes to anatomy, so anywho. I just dismissed it.
Then last night, I was going to sleep, and I felt that lump. I always sort of half suspected that it was the coat-hanger ever since I found that lump, but I never really believed it until now.
How I realised it was I was sort of pushing it around, and I got it to sort of "bounce" along my rib cage. Then I realised it was really quite solid, and had a defined length.
When I got home from school today, I looked in the mirror and noticed there were two small lumps in my heart region; two points where the coat-hanger sort of curbs, and presses against my skin. I found out that I could also find a tip of the piece of coat-hanger, and when I push it I can make the opposite end press against my skin.
I'm now going to go see a doctor about it.

I've felt the good version of the sad. I suppose the best way to describe the good version of the sad is giddy. But ya, it's shivering with... excitement I suppose, it's quite nice. I felt that on Friday the 13th. That was the one good thing that happened to me. Other than that I was just on newgrounds from 3:45 to 12:00. No friends etc.

You know that feeling in your neck? Posted January 14th, 2006 in General

That one that you get in the back of your neck, that you might get when, idunno, you're around someone you HATE. It feels like all the negative feeling coming from your brain and going to the rest of your body is being channeled through the back of your neck? And you just want to rip the back of your neck out?
Then there's that feeling that's quite the opposite, that you might get when, idunno, you're around someone you like, or love (in my case like, I'm just 14...). It feels like all the positive feeling coming from your brain and going to the rest of your body is being channeled through the back of your neck? And it sometimes transfers to, idunno, your shoulders?
I got the good version just then... s'awesome.

Why I'm telling you this is not for the story of why I got it, it's just to see if people other than me and the one other person I discussed this with get it. I'm assuming they do, since it's logical to assume you're part of the majority. I loves that good version... I loves it goooood. (oh GIR... you and your shenanigans.)

But, I guess what you should do is get proffesional help, if it is really as bad as you say it is.

Depends what kind of soup.
In my opinion, if there's nothing but liquid, like tomatoe soup for example, then you drink it.
If it's like vegetable soup, and there's a whole lot of stuff in it, then you eat it.
