I'd add characters from Klay World, like maybe Dr. Bob. They're good at destroying things.

I'll do some voice work. Granted, I have no idea exactly how to do that through the Internet, but I have a good voice, and I'm sure I could learn.

My e-mail address is jeffrystevenson@comcast.net.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought that was ridiculous. You'd think that from internet memes, pirates were just fantasy characters, but they're apparently still around. I didn't know this was such a big problem.

I know. What's the strangest thing is that people can hate religion, but still think Jesus is the greatest role model ever (i.e. Bill Maher).

Personally, I am going to keep being a Christian because if something founded by the greatest teacher can't be improved, what can be improved? I mean, really.

Longest flash? Posted December 18th, 2008 in Game Development

What's the longest flash cartoon on this website you've ever seen? It took me forty minutes to see Super Mario bros Z ep. 7. Of course, other people could read faster and got it done quicker.

Anyone know what the record is?

It was funny, because I had no idea there'd be a sequel (much less a series). The end of that one didn't really leave any unanswered questions. Yet they managed to make a great series. This was of course a great cartoon and it's my new favorite (seeing as how I have over 60 favorites on my profile, that's really saying something). I'm sad to see it end, but it was a great way to start Christmas vacation!

Response to: what if god was one of us ... Posted December 18th, 2008 in General

Actually, if you're a Christian, you believe in the divinity of Jesus, who more or less was God, and who did walk with us.

This, of course, raises the question as what if Jesus was alive in body now? No doubt he would probably be disappointed at Christianity. Like Mark Twain said, if Jesus was alive today, he wouldn't even be a Christian.

Optimist. I've learned that a person's life can be the best or worst ever if you look at in a certain way.

Well, I'm not theologian, but I think that the assumption is that God, being God and all, has no beginning or end. This "God" being has this ability, due to the fact that he is all powerful. I really can't say much beyond that.

Also, I am not certainly not saying that the Big Bang didn't happen. My question is, WHY did the Big Bang happen? The problem is, I'm being explained as to HOW the Big Bang happened. There's a difference between HOW and WHY. I do believe that is how the universe came into being, but why did it come into being?

The thing that really annoys me about all this is that after the Netherlands legalized marijuana, usage of it actually decreased. Why is the government apparantly unaware of this?

Yeah, it does. I'd also like to add that this is the same for games. Pretty much every video game series making the transition from 2D to 3D is subject to a lot of arguing, even to this very day. But I guess we won't have to worry about that either.

Well, on your first post, you couldn't really say you'd go to Hell, because you don't believe in it.

Yes, I do believe in God. No, of course I do not believe in the universe being 6000 years old, creationism, etc. That's denying scientific fact. To be honest, I believe in God/Heaven/angels, but I honestly don't believe in the devil/Hell/demons. I cannot grasp the concept of why God would want to create a person who would suffer for all eternity. I know that this belief is believed by a minority, but it makes sense to me. My mother, bless her heart, is the nicest person ever, and she taught me that.

Yeah, I think that 's probably "Too Soon". In a way, this becomes biased, because we bring ourselves to the cliche that time heals all wounds. I mean, I could probably make as many jokes about Abraham Lincoln being shot, due to the fact that it was so long ago. I noticed that there was a little controversy when Cloverfield showed New York City in ruins, but there were certainly be a heck of a lot moreif the movie was released in say, 2002. You have to be careful about saying things at the right time.

Again, there's nothing wrong with a little dark humor now and then, but there is a certian point where it's just insensitive.

Cgi? Posted December 16th, 2008 in Game Development

As I look onto this site for the future of animation, it's a strange contrast between animation in the movie industry. In case you haven't noticed, every American animated movie is CGI, but I've been a big fan of this site for so long, it's like entering a different world of 2D animation. In fact, the only movie in the past couple of years that was 2D was "The Simpsons Movie" which was based on a popular 2D show. I raise this question, because I was looking at SecretAgentBob's flash, and he was known for starting out in 3D, but now he's in 2D. Seeing the success of flashes of his like "Ferrets" made me wonder if there will come a time where all flashes are 3D. Do you think we'll see it in, maybe five years or so?

While flash here is meant to be made by independent people who just want to have some fun (I mean with the frequency of sprites, it's clear many don't care about updating), I wonder if artists will be going more towards 3D. Updates in animation are a large part of their culture. When The Flintstones became so popular, it pretty much meant the end of animations being told in 7-minute formats, which is why Looney Tunes ended in 1968 (I think). Will Flash Player 13, 14, or whatever, make it mandatory to be CGI?

Another question I have is, why hasn't anime made this transition? In the Eastern world, animation is viewed more as art, but they don't seem to care much about "updating'' the styles like Western culture.

Well, I like to think of it as a matter of personal taste (pardon the pun). Unless there's any evidence of negative effects on the Earth (or society), I don't see any reason why this should be considered a political issue in the first place.

Response to: A new economy Posted December 16th, 2008 in Politics

Seeing as how the economy is doing so poorly now, it's fairly obvious it will take some time to get things back to normal. We can not simply hope Barrack Obama is going to fix things right away. I mean, seeing the mess that Bush left us, he's going to have to be really good, but I do have hope.

Granted, there's no guarantee he'll be a great President, or be able to fix these things up, but we just have to be hopeful and yet realistic at the same time. Great leaders like FDR have pulled us out of a major crisis before, so it can be done.

Response to: Science VS Religion Posted December 16th, 2008 in Politics

After having it rammed into my head over and over again by popular videos by people like Richard Dawkins, I think we can just safely conclude that religion does not belong in a scientific community.

I love religion just as much as the next guy, but our founding fathers believed in the separation of church and state. I know science doesn't apply to "state" very much, but it's still noteworthy. I believe that the true purpose of religion is to talk about things which are unknown, and how can something unknown be accepted into a scientific community?

I mean yeah, I'm not saying that it's wrong to believe in Jesus, but you should keep things like that to yourself. I believe that God exists, and that he comes to people in different ways, which is why there's different religions.

Response to: Is Atheism logical? Posted December 16th, 2008 in Politics

One thing that annoys me about the atheist argument is that Charles Darwin is thought of as being an atheist icon. What a lot of people don't seem to mention is that he wasn't an atheist. I mean, I hear all this stuff about how there's this urban legend how on his deathbed he converted to Christianity, and how that is so stupid. Well, he didn't declare himself an atheist on his deathbed either, so truly using him as an authority on religion can't be supported either way. He should be thought of as a scientist, and not a philosopher.

The greatest thing about religion Posted December 16th, 2008 in General

I'm hearing a lot lately about how horrible religion is, but I don't think it's that bad.
Trey Parker (from of course "South Park") said perhaps the greatest thing about religion ever. He said that he'd heard a lot of truly ridiculous stories about religious belief. Then he heard the notion that there's this big universe and it's expanding and collapsing...just because. To him, that was the most ridiculous story out of all of them. Wouldn't you say he's right? Granted, he's no fundamentalist, but I think this is one of the most thought-provoking things ever said.
