A lot of people are annoyed by stuff like Drug PSA's, and how work so hard nailing some stuff into our heads.

1984 is anything but subtle, but it wouldn't have been as effective.

I have no family history of this btw.

It is pretty normal. I believe it's called growing pains.

I managed to watch every episode on ifilm, although they have all been removed. Yeah, I am aware of that one episode where they said they were downloaded too much, but I don't have MTV2, so sue me!It had a lot of good moments, although not the best. I'm a bit disappointed that it's cancelled now.

Response to: most insane religion? Posted January 5th, 2009 in General

I would say Scientology, although not because of it's beliefs. When I look at the founding of a religion, I look at the founder.

L. Ron Hubbard stated at one time that he thought religion was a good way to make money. I believe his son even made an interview in which he claimed that his father simply made it all up, which is a huge factor in discrediting it.

Response to: If Your Son Turned Gay Posted January 5th, 2009 in General

It'd be fine for me, because evidence implies you cannot choose your sexuality. Homosexuality must serve some evolutionary purpose or else we would have simply evolved out of it.

Response to: George Orwell's '1984': *facepalm* Posted January 5th, 2009 in General

That's one of my favorite books. It is of course known for it's political overtones which still have relevance in today's society.

Response to: If you met God Posted January 5th, 2009 in General

I'd ask what our purpose could be if the Universe is so big, and our impact on it seems minimal.

Response to: What evolution implies Posted January 5th, 2009 in Politics

Where did the figure 13.7 billion years come from anyway? I know carbon dating has shown evidence for things hundreds of millions of years old. The first cell is 4 billion years old. How do we know the Universe is older than four billion years old?

For crying out loud! I've had to go back and forth to these colleges, just so I can be registered today! Luckily, they're very close by, so at least it doesn't waste a lot of gas.

What happened to the days when you just signed your name once to register and that was it?

Yeah, global warming or war would kill us by then.

Response to: Space Exploration. Posted January 4th, 2009 in Politics

Space exploration is probably going to do a lot of good in the long run, if you think about it. Scientists have predicted in four billion years, the Sun will explode, destroying the Earth. Hopefully, we'll be able to get spaceships to bring us to another planet (though it would have to be pretty far away) by then.

I'd love to play a flash version of Mugen on this website. Of course, I'd like to see Mugen flashes here at all.

Response to: Shows you like but are ashamed of Posted January 4th, 2009 in General

Mine would of course be...Pokemon.

I honestly think that the only reason this show get so much flak is because people were just sick of the phenemon of Pokemon by around 2000, so it now has a hatedom (opposite of fandom) . You could also throw in the movies too. Just like Jar-Jar Binks, people who have never seen it are more than happy to talk about how much they hate it. I noticed that most people who claim it's the worst movies ever, often don't bother saying why they're so bad. Heck, the 8th movie has a score of 7.2 on IMDB, and that's the highest of any direct-to-video sequel (not that that says much, but it's something).

People say, "I remember when I watched this show, now I realize how stupid it is". Well, it's your fault for getting so interesting into something that's so bad.

Response to: What evolution implies Posted January 4th, 2009 in Politics

One of the biggest misconceptions about evolution is that a human is thedirect descendant of monkeys and apes. Man did not actually evolve from them, per se, only that humans and apes show a common ancestor, as technically do all living organisms, at least in the sense that we're descended from the first cell on Earth.

Man and apes are closely related, in fact, sharing 98% of our genes. That is why they are noteworthy on the evolution chain, as they are the animals that are closest to us, although we did not directly evolve from them.

Response to: What evolution implies Posted January 3rd, 2009 in Politics

It is relevant because it tells about how people learned to work with one another as time went on, and how communities and civilization came from these practices, not to mention ideas, and pretty much everything else created by man.

At least that's what Richard Dawkins says.

Response to: Devolve not opposite of evolve Posted January 3rd, 2009 in Politics

Well, that could just be bad wording. Like how "flammable" and "inflammable" mean the same thing. Also, how "congress" isn't the opposite of "progress". Although some would disagree...

Cadbury creme eggs? I think you're either months early for Easter, or months late for Easter. Did you get those for Christmas? Actually, I guess that would be kind of cool.

Let's get this straight... we've been discussing this movie for the past day, uncovering numerous factual errors made by Maher both in interviews and in the movie, and you change it to a higher score?

Because I simply changed my mind after some thought. Also because I'm such a geek I just wanted to get another post here.

Response to: 1999 was 10 years ago Posted January 3rd, 2009 in General

Technically, this is the ninth year into the century, because the 21st century started on 2001.

It's like how the first century was years 1-100. According to the calendar we use, there never was a year 0.

Not to sound like a geek, but I think the Jetsons took place in like the 25th century or something.

Anyway back to your original comment, yes I am mad. The wierd thing is, I'm actually wondering if a flying car would even be that practical anyway. Wouldn't it use a more renewable resource like ethanol?

I especially like the last line in the movie (after the credits, possible spoiler ahead)
