I've been using NI's FM7, which can import SysEx data. I've been sampling 16bit drum sounds using the Genesis emulator Gens, which allows me to isolate PCM channel. And for NES type sounds, I just use any old soft synth, or even Famitracker if I'm feeling a little crazy.

That's my attempt. Made it in ModPlug tracker with the Sine .wav sample posted on this thread. Added a few effects to liven it up and crunch up the rhythms.
Vewy nice. Will review laters.

I made something myself just for fun: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1 21022

Now I didn't edit a sine wave sample, I used the sine wave of the Subtractor, and layered/added effects. Not much sine to see there anymore, but it's all done from pure sine waves

I liked your entry. You were able to coax some pretty awesome sounds out of that Subtractor (which is Reason, if I remember correctly [I'm more of an ACID user]). I always had trouble getting the sounds I wanted from Subtractor.

Thanks. I've tried drums, but I didn't really like how it turned out, so I doubt I 'll post it on the Audio Portal. I'm learning more and more on the drums, so when I have something that I like, I think I'll go for it.
By the way, I love your music. Good stuff!

Which means, you can use effects on that sine wave, pitch it wherever you want for melodies, edit envelopes etc, whatever you want.

Or you could be hardcore like Khuskan and make a song from only pure sine waves.
