Already starting today with random band info.

There are twice as many elements to configure (visual and auditory) and that means typically twice the decisions and at least twice the amount of time something of comparable quality...

Thats arguable... You're telling me that mozart or beethoven didn't spend their entire lives creating great songs, and could have simply done so in half the time and effort it would have taken a flash artist to make a flash?

No, you must also realize that audio is significantly shorter than most flash on the site, and the file size allowed is cut in half. This limits us severely. I spend just as long if not longer on a single song as most flash artists spend on a flash.

Sorry for the double post but there are a couple things you could check.

First, right click on the FL desktop item and check it's compatibility through the properties, make sure its on windows xp.

Then make sure all the FL files are in the corresponding FL folders... I'm not sure how exactly to check that, but from a little research I did some people were having the same problem until they moved some files around.

I'll keep looking, until then just do those 2 things if you can.

Lol the majority of the songs on the top 5 may not be the best. Theyre only there because the person either A. Gets more 5's from friends
B. Uploads at 11:59 tuesday night and 5's his own song
C. Just gets lucky
D. (least likely) the song is actually decent.

Like Kr1z said is sort of how I make a melody. lay out the bassline first, then place notes that fit the bassline after... Start with quarter notes then make the melody more intricate, then more and more... etc etc...

Concert bassdrum is a hard instrument to sample, but try looking in Hammersound in the percussion area. I think they have like a orchestral percussion pack or something like that.

How do you define things as a premade sample?

Technically your guitar, drum set, any instrument you buy is someone elses sample. So technically, NOTHING is allowed on this site for submission. A drum set is simply a large sample that you bought using someone elses already created sounds put into a drumset for you. Unless you cut down the trees yourself and make the drums yourself, youre using someone elses samples...

I think what the rules mean by samples is loops essentially... Otherwise consider me banned for using VEC drum samples and I'll take my stuff elsewhere.

Firstly, this song is We Like to Party by the Venga Boys. Its an incredible popular song, its the six flags theme song, and it can be verified that it is in fact the Venga Boys' song through itunes, as it is one of their most popular.

Thats not the six flags song...

It looks alright, but the portability makes it sort of suspicious.

I use This one. It works great, though make sure you don't have like a fan in the backround, otherwise it will pick it up because it's really sensitive. It wont play over your voice but it's really sensitive. My girlfriend has sung into it and it has cracked or popped or created any white noise. Of course the price isn't as "friendly"

Lol its pretty simplistic music. A simple melody with not much bass but a heavy ass layered pitched down kick. That's pretty much it. Layer the kick with a loud snare... Bam, done, you have a hardstyle song.

Metal songs use guitars. Real guitars. Not fake guitars. Not electronic machines masquerading as guitars.

Say's the genre-genie. Creator of all genres and what they are.

Fucking. Guitars.

Fuck.

What people who use Slayer are producing isn't metal. It's electronic, D&B, and techno with guitar VST's.

It is... Just a different type of metal. Call it... Electronic metal. And technically no one produces metal except for smelters :O

You want to make metal? Learn to play guitar.

Maybe they want to make metal but don't know how to play the guitar. If you like something, shouldn't you be able to try it out without having to wait a few years for your guitar lessons to kick in?
