Now let's get back in topic. Pornography and sexual imagery have been around for a LONG time. If anything, modern pr0n responds to the advances in communications. As long as you don't, say, jerk off in front of a toddler, or show a 5-years-old a hardcore anal video, I find hard to think that pornography is a major factor in our culture's current state of fuck-up.

Well, most of the time it's just hard to draw the line. I mean, take regulation of guns, for one. You don't need to carry a sniper rifle in your pocket to protect yourself from a robbery. You don't need to keep hand grenades in your drawer to protect your house. But there's a line. Same thing with welfare. When is it good for the population and when it's curtailing of personal freedoms, now that's tough cookie.

Er... Anyways. Now I probably have a different opinion 'cause my country DOES seem to be needing subsidies, and we're getting a few, but yeah, I'm all for subsidies, as long as they make sense. Moderated subsidies in education seem to be working here, as well as in health service, a small statal fund for culture and cinematic projects, and no, I don't mean propaganda, subsidies for the small area of the mining industry that isn't state-owned, aaaand... a few more. Can't remember now.
Subsidies are good in developing countries, or to give a small push into an specific private area, but it shouldn't be something to relay in. As long as it doesn't disbalance the whole spectrum of the matter, I'm ok with them.
