Hey. I'm primarily a voice actress for flash movies (see signature for resume/demo), but I also do some flash animation. Just recently I created a flash website for some of my work, which is still under going construction and won't be finished by the end of the week-ish. It is called Elliair Visionary Studios. I'm working on two flash movies currently and I thought it would be nice to have a website dedicated to my flash...stuff.

Also, I created a nice little forum for the website. I realize not many people here will be motivated to sign-up, but anyone who does is super cool in my book. And I'm kind of looking for moderators since I'm a "one-man-team", so some help would be nice.

Any thoughts on all of this would be great! I'll update with progress..

No, the Voice Acting Club is pretty much dead. The VA's there have relocated to a seperate forum, which can be found here. There you will find what you are looking for.

This place is dead. Please redirect all of your voice acting needs/services to the independent Voice Acting Club. There you will find a variety of VAs looking to voice act for you. Register and please be sure to review the forum rules first before holding auditions for your flash animation.

Hi everyone. It's been a long time, sorry I haven't been around much. Just dropping by to say Happy Thanksgiving, and hopefully sooner or later I'll get back to VAing and the club, which I'm glad to see is still going strong. :)

Yep, you can join in the chats. Anyone is welcome, actually. It's held via Yahoo Messenger, usually @ 6pm PST but it looks like it's going to be 4pm PST (7pm EST). To get an invite into the chat, you have to add me, Elliair_lel. And it's a voice chat btw, so have your microphone handy. :)

Sorry I didn't start a chat yesterday guys. I totally forgot it was chat day. >.<

But if a few of ya'll are up for it, a Sunday chat could be held today. As for the time, I suppose if 4pm PST (7pm EST) is what you guys want (as suggested by AT7K) then I will most certainly start the chat at said time.

Hey guys. It feels like ages since I've posted. Sorry I haven't been around to host the chats. Been really busy with stuffs (duh). Decided to take sometime and read the 10 pages or so that I've missed. I'm really glad to see that this place is still goin' strong. So yeah, just postin' to say I'm still alive since a couple of you think I died or something (thanks for the kind words btw, Guardas_Comics). And to respond to some things:

For the chats, I think I'll be able to do one this weekend. I was actually able to do one the previous weekend, but I just got the idea that there would be hardly no one on to start a chat (like usual) so I didn't want to bother. But hey, it looks like some of ya'll want to go to a chat now, so yeah, I can host it. However, incase I don't for some reason, Triple Arrow you're welcome to host the chat for everyone. As is anyone else.

For the Halloween challenge thingymabobber, I am making myself some time to do this since I didn't turn anything in for the first challenge. So yeah, if anyone wants to pair up with me, feel free to give me an e-mail or talk to me on AIM if I happen to be on. You can post here.. but I'm not sure if I'll read it soon enough. And I don't care who it is. Just as long as you've got an adequate amount of VAing skill (or at the very least can make fairly clear recordings). :)

And no AT7k, I don't hate your intestines. Just your ability to be incredibly random and obnoxious at times. But you're okay I 'spose.

I think that's it. I'll post a bit more often just to show I'm alive, but I think for now I'm temporarily unavailable to voice act. Besides this challenge thing and a couple things for a few people (they know who they are), anyway. Adios!

Very nice stuff so far guys, you all did great work! I wonder who'll win the challenge. Or, will there be no winners? I forget.

Oh, and there will be a VAC chat tonight (hopefully). 6pm PST/9pm EST, Yahoo Messenger, add Elliair_Lel for an invite. I look forward to seeing some of you there; maybe we can talk about the challenge and future challenges? I dunno.

Yeah, I don't believe I'll be able to submit an entry in for the challenge either, unfortunately. :( For the past couple of weeks I've been uber busy with things (not just school) so it's been hard for me to try and come up with anything for the challenge. However, I do look forward to hearing what ya'll came up with!

Oh yeah, and I'm contemplating whether or not there should be a VAC Chat tomorrow. There hasn't been one for quite awhile me thinks. Whatdya guys think (for those of you who attend/want to attend)?

Reminds me of one of those Time Trials those flashists have on occassion in the Flash section. But yeah, awesome. I'll def partake in this, despite having enough time to record anything for anyone. Guess I'll just have to find some time... somehow.

Oh yeah, just a suggestion. For the next challenge we have (if we do have another), it'd be cool to have a theme/scenario/situation of some sort to work off of. Kinda hard for me to think of something really cool and original at the moment. I'm lame like that. :( But I realize this is our first challenge so maybe you've probably already thought of doing this in the future and I typed this all down for nothing instead of finishing my homework. Oh well.

That's really awesome! <3 Bad Religion and your voice. Btw, I haven't seen you in the chats for awhile. I miss your singing and bass playing. :(

Not like anyone cares, but in response to the "what's everyone doin'?" question, I'm pretty much busy with school, community service (school), drama/theatre, and I'm also working towards getting a new job (had one before summer but.. eh).

However, to keep in touch with most VACers (most of the regs usually) I hold the VA Chats every Saturday (as you all know). Despite the major suckness the chats have been the past two-three weeks (it's true), participating in them is still kind of a good way to sort of get to know us, especially if you're new. So Maynz and whoever else is new, it'd be cool if you guys went to the chat sometime. Sometimes they're fun, sometimes they're boring, but it's at least one thing we can all do together.

The quality is excellent, but it limits the number of people who can simaltaneously talk to each other (only 5 per conference). We've done one Skype chat before (I think it was due to lack of people on Yahoo so we went to Skype), and it was pretty cool.

Yah! Awesome effects on the alarm and evil lines. i already put you in the credits as Ellair(i think that's the spelling you wanted, right? If not. i'll change it) and we are gonna be on TV. That's right. Doodle Dude is going to be on television. w00t!

It's actually spelled Elliair. Everyone seems to forget the first 'i'. Anyway, I'm glad you liked the lines. :) And Doodle Dude's going to be on TV? No offense, but that seems kinda odd. Clarify please.

Actually, I made a small mistake. Click "Export As Mp3", not save project as. That should be it, and should ask for you to locate the lame_enc.dll on your machine. Afterwards, you should be able to Save/Export your audio as a .mp3.

At 9/13/05 12:24 AM, Nayu wrote: Alright, couple more quick questions about Audacity and I'll be able to actually get in some samples.

I shall answer your Qs!

because homework is boring at the moment. :/
1. I'm having some trouble overlapping sounds. For instance, recording something and then recording over it to add in, say, a whisper over my normal tone. Is there an actual button specifically for overlapping, or am I just not doing it right?

Record your first track. Then, record your second track you wish to overlap the first with. Both tracks should be aligned (first track ontop; second on bottom). Highlight both (Edit: Select All). Goto: Project > Quickmix.

2. Is there anyway of compressing all the audio tracks into one? Currently for a sample that I'm doing called ' Insomnia ', I have 3 audio tracks in the same audacity file. Is this a problem?

Make sure your tracks are placed the way you want if not already. (Use the time shift tool to do this.) Then, highlight everything. (Edit: Select All.) Then Project > Quickmix.

3. I saved one of my projects, but it told me that most programs can't run .aud or whatever the audacity file tag is. How do I change the format to like a .wav or something so other people can actually open it easily and listen to it?

You want a .mp3. You don't want .wavs; they can get way too big. You must download this. Then, you can either 1) mix your tracks down together then save as mp3. -OR- 2) highlight everything and save as mp3. It'll ask you to locate the 'lame_enc.dll'. You'll only have to do this once, then you'll be able to save files as .mp3. Forever.

unless you delete the lame_enc.dll...
4. When I finally complete my samples, does anyone have a good site that I can upload them on?

Ripway, 250free, XTHost, Groupnetwork, etc. I sometimes host clips for people too. So if you want me to host something for ya, just contact me via e-mail and send me whatever it is you want me to host. I don't mind.

Sorry if my questions have already been answered, but I don't have alot of time to read. ;x Easier to ask.

No one wants to read over 300 pages. :)

Thanks in advance. <3

No problem!
