Hey guys! Yeah, I didn't die either. I moved almost two months ago, and it took them that f*in' long to wire the new place. Word to the wise (in Japan): If you're going to move, apply for intertron service WELL in advance. Bloody hell.

Anyway, I'll be posting my Star Wars thing soon. For now, I need to catch up on two months of non-intertron.

Good to be back!

Hey, what's happenin' mags? I finally got my new apartment wired, and man, has it been a long time. Hope all my old buddies are still kicking around here.

So I certainly hope that the new Slipknot junk gets over to Japan sometime close to the US release date...

Response to: RPG club Posted September 6th, 2006 in Clubs & Crews

So...

Do you guys remember when people came to this thread and posted and stuff? Yeah, me too.

Response to: Slipknot Club Posted September 5th, 2006 in Clubs & Crews

You sir, are a crazy person.

Cool beans, Recon. Glad to see you're on your feet again. Anyway, before I go posting action for Merrik, I just want one more question answered. Do I know the other party members at all? If not, how did I end up with them? Hell, how did I end up with them either way?

Fedor is fighting the OWGP winner at Shockwave 2006, he didn't enter the OWGP like people thought he would. He is fighting Oct. 21st though, at Pride 'The Real Deal' (The USA show). Fedor is fighting Coleman again. I don't know why. It's kinda retarded.

Haha. Good. I fucking hate Coleman. It really pissed me off when he got a victory over Shogun. Then he fucking bragged about it. That asshole got lucky. Shogun could kick his ass. So I'll thoroughly enjoy watching Fedor mop the floor with that monkey. Fuck that dude.

I am not really a Josh Barnett fan, but I think him Vs. Fedor Emelianenko would be a great fight.
I think the OWGP coming September is going to be one hell of an event. Excellent match-ups.
What about the little (Bushido) fighters?
My all-time favorite Pride fighter is Hayato 'Mach' Sakurai.

Personally, I can't stand Barnett. Something about him rubs me the wrong way. Maybe because he's fat. I don't know. So Crocop said he'd retire? Wow. That's kind of a shame, since I don't think he's strong enough to best Silva. He's a good fighter, though. Managed not to get his ass totally kicked by Fedor. Wait...who the hell is Fedor fighting? He did enter the OWGP didn't he?

And to ChineseGoth, I'd recommend Iowa. I think it's their strongest album.

Response to: Slipknot Club Posted August 26th, 2006 in Clubs & Crews

Yeah, I love Pride, but I haven't watched much recently. Huge fan of Wanderlei Silva, and any of the Gracies. Mostly because I train BJJ, but the Gracies are great fighters regardless. I'm pretty excited about the Open Weight Championship coming up. Gonna be some great fights. I'm rooting for Silva and Nogueira (sp?). How about you?

Response to: Slipknot Club Posted August 25th, 2006 in Clubs & Crews

That's pretty awesome Doc. To be honest, I never even heard of Phil Baroni before, but if he comes back to Pride, I'll be sure to look for him.

Sadly, not much recently. Although haters still drop by from time to time.

Boo-yah, Recon.

Hair: none (I did say that before)
Skin: fair
Eyes: brown (think I said that, too)

Birthdate: February 5th

Also, could you post up the info on Domination? I want to have access to all the info on my powers.

Response to: RPG club Posted August 19th, 2006 in Clubs & Crews

Hmm...so Rapport can't be used with non-psionics? That means I can't use it to communicate telepathically with...anyone, really. Unless this is a highly psionically active world. So I'll take Body Control. Yeah, Teleportation certainly sounds nice, but I'm envisioning my character as more of a subtle kind of guy, relying more on wit than muscle. Don't plan on doing a lot of fighting.

As for my perception score, I thought you'd have me take the original set of scores, and thusly, the 7 I had in my original set. But I won't be upset my a chance to get something better. ;) ...And I rolled a 10.

Sounds good. You still need to generate a score for an eighth ability, perception. Perception describes the quality of a character's vision and hearing, as well as mental habits such as attentiveness, visual and aural memory, and interest in his/her surroundings. For example, rangers and ninjas need a mininmum of score of 15 for this ability. Psionicists have no prerequisite.

1st edition had 8 scores?! Crazy. I thought it was a throw-away score. Crap. Gotta rethink this all, since now I have to deal with a 7...

*checks Egyptian Mythos* You'd be better off with Thoth (God of Knowledge). He has maximum psionic abilities and his worshipers can be of any race or alignment.

Done. Thoth is the one with the ibis head, right? (After checking the wiki, I found I was right. I'm so proud of myself!)

As for the rest, I guess I'll be taking Psionic Blast as my attack mode. I know I want Domination as a power, but I'd like a little clarification on some others. Namely, Rapport, Animal Telepathy, and Body Control.

Okay El_Satanno, the ability score requirements for the Psionicist type I (it's the more powerful of the two) are as follows:

Intelligence: 10* (ability to learn magic & languages, max number of possible spells)
Wisdom: 10* (magical defense, no. of bonus spells, chance of successful spell use)
Constitution: 9
Charisma: 10* (max no. of henchmen, loyalty base, reaction & comeliness adjustment)

*- At least one of these scores must be 16 or higher (bonus for high scores). No worries, I'll let you make a point for point exchange to qualify for the class. Just be careful you don't lower one of your other stats too much.

Okay, how about: Str: 9, Con: 9, Dex: 11, Com: 9, Cha: 11, Int: 16, Wis: 13

Merrik Bridgewater, human male psionicist. No hair, dark brown eyes. Lawful good.
There's gonna be a problem with your alignment bud. The current party is comprised of neutral and evil characters. Pick any alignment other than good and we're in business.

Are you serious? Great. I don't really want to play an evil character, nor do I really think evil parties work. I'll go LN. I guess we'll see how it works out.

I've got a rare copy of the original Deities& Demigods. It has a ton of pantheons in it including two TSR had to remove for fear of lawsuit. They're the Cthulhu and Melnibonian pantheons. If possible, pick a mythos and deity you're knowledgeable about. If not, I'll bring the book tomorrow and list them for you to pick from.

Tell you what, my character isn't going to be terribly pious unless the campaign is full of those kinds of people. If so, just choose a popular deity who is associated with the mind. Horus springs to mind.

Not sure about deity, since I have no idea what kind of pantheon you're going to use. Likewise, I would come up with some more background and such, but I don't have any info on the world.

Get back at me, and I'll be happy to flesh things out.

Thanks, Recon. I appreciate your letting me in. So let the questions begin:

1) You're running on what edition of D&D? I think you said 2d before. Are you making any modifications to the engine to accomodate the text-based nature of the game?

2) You're going to trust me/us with the rolling? I'm an honest guy, but it still seems a bit lenient.

3) I'm not familiar with a lot of those classes, but I only want clarification about a couple: Archer, Buccaneer, the Psionicists, and the Samurai. Just an overview of special abilities and game related mechanics.

4) What are the in-a-nutshell differences between the elves? I mean, stats, restrictions, and basic role-play elements.

I'll probably be ready for the next step the day after you answer these questions for me.

Response to: RPG club Posted August 4th, 2006 in Clubs & Crews

Well, if you've got a free slot, I'd like to join the D&D game Rebel...

Since interest in my game seems to have evaporated...*sniff*

Things have slowed down, but that's no reason to spam the thread with nonsense and single-line posts, new people. You're all welcome aboard our little crew here, just don't be an idiot.

Big Red, I've got a better idea...how about you and the other guys who expressed interest in my D&D game get your shit together and get your character info to me!? Sorry, it's just that I'm really into getting this thing off the ground, but everyone has disappeared.

That's not to say that your conversation topic isn't a good idea. In fact, I've got a wealth of old D&D stories to regale you all with. I'll ponder a bit, and post a story sometime soon.

Response to: Slipknot Club Posted July 31st, 2006 in Clubs & Crews

Hehe...I guess as an old guy, Slipknot has had a different influence on me. I like them because they sound to me like a hard-ass, aggressive new metal band that has more to them than just speed, growling vocals and anger. Not that those are bad qualities, but a lot of this "true metal" stuff people bang on about is fucking crap because there's little else to them. One thing I really appreciate about Slipknot is that many of their tunes, especially with regards to Vol. 3, actually have melody. Melody is not a bad thing, nor is it "un-metal."

I'm always on the lookout for new music, so I'm going to try remembering the bands you all are mentioning. Of course, I probably won't buy anything until I can hear some first, but I'm already into a few newer bands I've heard of here. Bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage, and Trivium.

Thanks, I've just been a bit bored lately.

Are there any good RPGs for anything besides PS2? I don't think so... Get a PS2. Tons of RPGs, and both the console and games are cheap.

As for d/l-able games... You'll likely have to pay for anything really worth playing. Then again, check out sites like Home of the Underdogs for some good abandonware.

What? You never used a Korn bank? I get great interest on my mutual funds through First Korn and Fidelity Trust.

As per the Slipknot DVD discussion, odds are probably that there's a hold-up with the publisher or some such nonsense. I wouldn't hold my breath anticipating anything more than what was originally slated for release. Still, it doesn't hurt to hope.

The red and yellow twi'lek run up to the speeder, they check inside, and then the red opens up the back compartment. He stares for a second before speaking.

"That twi'lek is dead. You hear me Luman? Round up some boys, go find him, and bring me back his lekku."
The brown twi'lek looks uninterested, "You guys still leaving? I think I have a ride off the stone if you want it."
"Just me, Luman's taking care of something." says the red, staring off.

Star Wars: Sasan'oru

"Oh dear! It looks like one of your friends has gotten himself killed!" Sasan'oru thinks to himself happily as he waits for an opportunity to present itself. "And I have a name to go on, too. Who are you, Mr. Luman, I wonder."

Don't ask me why. Just take a look at the past few pages of the thread, and you'll see what I mean. Sure, it's great to show some enthusiasm. Hell, I'm full of the shit. There just aren't so many folks who actually post more than just that.

I think what I want to say is that perhaps sticking to conversations just about a band that isn't doing anything new is a bit limiting. That's not to say that we should limit ourselves to that, but it does tend to happen.
