Posting wip to give myself some motivation to get this done before the weekend.

Looks absolutely awesome, my only suggestion is that her left eye is much too wide for her right to look so calm. It's kind of confusing look at it, and makes her look somewhat cross eyed or something close. Oh and also the bulge on her right arm makes her look a little too buff / odd.

You know how Van Gogh cut off his own ear? Well Luis took the artistic path too it seems. My parent's were a bit surprised when they found half of a hispanic cock on the ground, but didn't take it personally.

Anyway, I got my paper, except it has a little bit of jizz and blood mixed on it. Sorry.

I don't have school for possibly TWO WEEKS because two people have the Swine Flu. Might have some homework, tests, and stuff, but it's the week of APs, prom, and everything else. How crazy is that?

I'd rather get it right now, because it's less virulent, but still!

I have to ask my physics teacher exactly what it was, but I just remember him making some side-comment about something like this. I don't remember exactly what the comment was but there are two possibilities I seem to remember.

It was that physics had found something that either was "changing" independently of time, or it was moving in basically it's own direction of time, so like, while we may be going a certain direction in time, it could be going in what we see as reverse. With my mere honors level in physics and recalling my memory from back five months, it's hard to remember exactly, but I'll ask him tomorrow.

x = distance * Math.cos(radians)
y = distance * Math.sin(radians)

Hypothetically, it doesn't matter if it's in radians or degrees, because it will always be within the domain of sin and cos. And the distance is the radius.

Don't try and do this again. Tom clearly doesn't want everyone to use NG Medals, otherwise he would make them public. It's even just disrespectful that you tried to decompile his .swf to get around it.

Use a shapeflag hitTest:
object.hitTest(x, y, Boolean)
In your case, the object is the whole ground / walls movieclip in one. Boolean is true for you. The x and y are coordinates that you use when checking the hitTest to see if the graphic itself touches those points. So use your player's points. Look more about it on AS: Main or anywhere.

That's so weird. I remember you once talking about making your own language and for some reason when I heard that, the name 'Gust' popped into my mind. That's a sweet name for a language.

In the meanwhile... FACTORIALFEST!

You're attaching the bullets INSIDE of the player movieclip, or they're part of his animation. That's not a good thing to do. (That means if you jump, the bullet jumps with you. It also means that your hitTest will just be a bit harder).

MindChamber, the art looks awesome. I do personally like the animated ones better. The overly animated ones get a bit annoying during Pico Day (like last year), but at least an animated play button would've been nice. Either way, looks pretty cool! Good luck to everyone submitting.

Better scripting in general would be good. This tutorial is somewhat useless because there are many better ones out there. Could've been coded more efficiently, with better habits, not clip events, etc.

object.blabla = 45

If you're attaching it, just right after the attach code put that. Works with any variable like that. Also, when you do this, make sure you refer to the right object.

If you're not on a Mac, you could also use FlashDevelop, which allows users with a lower level Flash use AS3. Check it out, it's really good, but can be frustrating at the start.

There are programs that allow people to decompile an .swf that's been posted. Anyone who thinks Krinkels is legitimately making his animations and not just stealing them is blatantly and evidently retarded!

Why the hell would you remove this guy! We have to remove this guy Krinkels who has been stealing from MinionManiac010. MM010 is one of the most powerful people in the entire internet and could give Newgrounds a lot of bad cred if we removed him.

Just don't say "I've spend months on this, please watch!" Give an introduction about the game, and somewhere in a small area just mention that you spent a fair amount of time on it. Otherwise, you don't necessarily need to say it anywhere. But if it's long, people rarely read the introduction anyways.

Topic: array.push() question

Posted: 04/04/09 01:38 PM

Forum: Flash

Sorry, just to clarify, do you mean can you push an array into an array? When you say "value," I'm assuming you mean the little yellow box that opens up and says you're pushing a value into the array. The answer is absolutely yes. Doing this can be very useful in some cases, like making tile boards.
